I love Supergirl, the innocent Pre-Crisis little girl Supergirl that Jerry Siegel wrote as his daughter, Laura most of all. It was horses and princes and centaurs and Brainiac 5 built the time bubble just because he had a crush on her. It was insanely girly and Supergirl was Dorothy and Alice with super-powers, sweetness and innocence personified. A lot of my childhood favorites-Dorothy, Supergirl, Mary Marvel-were these types of characters. The most recent version before the DCnU reboot started off kinda poorly but her book got better and better and by the last few storylines with Bizarrogirl, the book had became my favorite DC title.
The other versions of Supergirl over the years were never as personally important to me as Kara, but I still liked them and I didn't blame those characters for what DC did to Kara.
If I don't give up and quit collecting, Supergirl will always be a title that I buy.
That's why I love Supergirl
Is that true that Jerry Siegel based her on his daughter. If it is that's the most adorable thing I've ever heard
