Sue is great. But... Despite all the history, all the power, all the avenues that could be explored with her the default setting for her these last 30 plus years has been to either make her simply a shrieking harpy ***** on wheels or to turn her into a sad sack that laments how Reed spends too much time away from her, the children and the team. It's like, they can't get more interesting and nuanced than that. Hell even Byrne who often did right by the character and handled her well did that crap Dark Phoenix stuff with Malice with her. She, in terms of raw super powers, is the most dangerous FF member and she's also it's beating heart. She's strong willed, a mother, perhaps the person that best understands how the team should act in the wider world. She's lost children during the delivery and has enough self respect to leave Reed and the team when she feels things aren't right. Yet, again... not much has been done that I would find interesting with her, or at least the last time I actively checked out FF comics, but that's all I can comment on since that's all I know. A great Marvel character, but she could use a great and defining couple of stories in the modern age.
