LIVING MONOLITH

Huh, I thought he was taller.

I don't feel one way or the other about this guy. Apocalypse does what he does better I guess, which is kinda lame considering how lame Apocalypse is.

I never really understood exactly what he was supposed to be. I know he had some sort of connection with Havok back in the early X-Men books and something about crazy people worshipping him.

I sort of remember him from some time travel story with Nova, Darkhawk, Namorita and Mr. Fantastic fighting two versions of him that were trying to eat each others power stones or something.

that dude sucks!, but the dude that he turns into( see below) is kinda okay! i dug he did that black adam thing of "my feet is too royal to touch the filthy earth you mortal worms walk on!"...of course then Thor beat his ass!

That was the Sphinx actually, Nova's villain but that photo looks simillair to him, making me think it was him too at first

this is what you were thinking about

(The Fixer) He's just your average thug who killed a person's parent/s & that particular person became a superhero, in this case DareDevil, so yeah, not a character that standouts for me.

**Important info about new shows need to be put in spoiler tags**

Good old Ben :csad:

For this character, this place will be filled with spoilers.
Spoiler and blackout tags are a good idea.

His editor told him his articles are bad, how bad could they be? Ben is probably a great investigative reporter, and we see him saying he depends on firmly credible sources only.
But I guess he had a very soft heart, much like how he was with how persistent Karen was with him.

I thought he was well cast. People make much of the change in race, but his mannerisms, his clothing, his drive to get a story (although, frankly, his willingness, sometimes, to think it's not worth it in his old age) are all Ben Urich taken straight from the comic book page. He really did an excellent job.

I did not see many comments about Ben's race change. The characters ethnicity was never important as far as I know.

Totally everything that Matt's identical twin said

and yeah his race was irrelevant!
[BLACKOUT] which is why i was SOOOOOOOOOO BUMMMED OUT about what Happened![/BLACKOUT]

They did a great job casting him. The character is an essential part of the comics and they really made that translate to the show very well. They made him funny, sarcastic and very committed to the story and the truth.

[BLACKOUT]So how can they just kill him??? Sonnava*****!!! I just hope they stick with it and don't have a cop out like Ben Jr. show up for season two or three that they never mentioned.[/BLACKOUT]

Yeah, he was awesome. That whole damn cast was awesome. But he really stood out.

[blackout]Damn shame they killed him though. Guess they made this before the Spider-Man deal. Would have been a great character to help tie Spidey to the universe had he gone and took a job with the Bugle. [/blackout]

For the upcoming movie, I'll use a character affiliated to the Quatro Fantastico

BIG BAR... HUNTARA

She's... She's a reminder that there's a lot of stupid stuff from the 90's in comics.

****. I kind of remember her from that big team up from some alternate version of Reed that killed off the other Reeds in the multiverse for some reason and some other series that was an offshoot from FF that had the grown up version of Franklin with all that cyber stuff on his head. I think it was around the same time as stripper-wear Sue was running around. Like Kryptin said, the 90's were stupid.

Edit: I remember the name of the Alt Reed. The Dark Raider. Weird ass storyline.

What were comic writers thinking, doing all that nonsense?

The sad part is... The companies were chasing the trends. So, let's not let the reading public off the hook too much. We, the readers collectively, made the 90's what they were. The companies were trying to serve the needs they thought we were asking to be met. We, the fans, bought Venom comics, and Image books and left the other titles like Thor, Captain America, The Avengers like rats leaving a sinking ship. The speculators market wasn't made up of just interlopers. There were also a lot of long time fans that bought into that nonsense. Were there bad business and creative decisions made at the time by both major companies? Sure... But I think ultimately when you have a reading public that wants Venom to be the end all be all story and character for Spidey... Yeah, you end up with what happened in that period.

I was away from these trends. :oldrazz:
Glad people weren't into that much crap in the 80s.
It's strange how the best decade in comics is followed by what is now viewed as a low point.

Meh... Throway Micheline villains of the week. Some of David's ideas were great, but when you do try new things and introduce new characters, some are going to stick and some are going to be forgettable... This duo is forgettable. I don't even remember much beyond the name. Didn't one of them have like a life draining touch or something? Anyway... Meh.

Yeah, Styx is the old version of Morlun.
So to speak.
