State Your Opinion on a Character!!!! (Reboot)

I thought they portrayed him well in Thor. He was dealing with a possible nutjob who was well trained enough to take down over a dozen highly trained agents without too much trouble including one guy who was far bigger than him and only wanted to get to the artifact that couldn't be moved by any force they could muster. He held him until someone who claimed to know him came to get him out and when it turned out to be fake he let him go but kept eyes on him to find out what he knew.

He was just doing his job by confiscating materials relating to the incident and was freely compliant in all matters once it turned out Thor was who he said he was. I found it showed just how well he was able to do his job. He wasn't a jackass just to be one by paying for the materials he took from Jane and Co. and he was diplomatic when he needed to be by agreeing to return everything without question when he was asked to.

Agent Coulson, to me is overrated.

@KevanG: I mean when he and the other S.H.I.E.L.D cronies steal the equipments of Erik Selvig and his assitants

@Duke: I agree

I found it made sense for multiple reasons. They had information on multiple events of an unknown nature that they didn't and they also didn't want civilians getting involved in a military matter. He didn't have to compensate them for it either. He could have said '**** you, Homeland Security matter. Bug me again and it's Gauntanamo bay for you.' and left it at that. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying he could have been a total asshat about everything but he was a decent guy.

He's fine in the movies but I could care less about the comic version. There's so many other SHIELD agents or Avengers support staff with rich histories they could use instead of him.

Coulson's cool! at the beginning i wanted Jasper Stilwell but that dude has become the man!i i dont know about the books but i freaking love how on "Agents of shield" when the super powered brother who's now Deathlok was tearing ^%* up!the other agents were like we have to stop him and there's only 1 way! Coulson was all "then find me another way cause that aint happening!"(hmmm.. not like real life Cops!) i dig Dude will put you in the ground after he's exhausted all reasonable alternatives... unlike these dudes like Wolverine who is the" best at what he does!" i am tired of that ^&*!
Coulson rocks like a mint edition of Captain America Trading cards!

I've yet to read any of comic Coulson so there I can't give an opinion, but I love movie Phil. My Grandma does too, and you never go against Grandma! ;) Now, I'm not the SHIELD show's biggest fan, but Phil is the best thing about it.

MYSTIQUE

I only like her when she's portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence. :wow: :hrt:

I like her as a character but she's been far too overexposed lately.

hehe:up: for real!

Misty's cool! you could be with her and she could be a different female(*or male!) anytime you want!only she would could cut your throat later! I always hated her so that's the markings of a good villain!.. only I never like that NightCrawlers mom thing! How come everybody has to be related?!cant you just be the creepy, lonely, strange, weird neighbor down the street?!
Everybody has to be your father's uncle, brother son in law on your mom's side long lost aunt!( i blame the"Empire strikes back!" for that!)
..oopsie went off on a tangent! but "Am i Blue"" play MISTY" for me is cool!

Yep, and she's not the type of character that works well when all over the place. I prefer her as a perpetually recurring but slightly in the background character.

Never cared for the Marvel Ultimates.

I found they tried too hard to make him an unlikeable *****e. He beats his wife, he's only twenty types of meds, he betrayed the team, he betrayed the country, the only way he did anything good was to kill himself with exploding clones. Yeesh.

As for Mystique, I don't mind her in small doses but she's everywhere these days. For someone who is supposed to be the ultimate spy and master at blending in she is seen all over the place without looking like anyone else.

LOVED the first 2 volumes of the Ultimates. Hank Pym was a good character to hate without being a straight up villain and one amazing scene is when cap finds out what he did to wasp and beats the living crap out of him

I only read the first two volumes as well. They didn't really do anything new or exciting with the character. They took the insecurities of 616 Pym and made it the driving force of the Ult version. It served it's purpose well for the storyline but it's not the adaption I would ever want to see on film or TV. Hank Pym isn't 100% ass****. He's more like 10-15%.
