State Your Opinion on A Character

That's what I like about Power Girl's costume. Unlike most super heroes with ****ty mc******** costumes, she actually has a mature and healthy sexual aspect to her personality that the costume reflects. Her costume is not sexualized for the benefit of fanboys, it is sexualized for her own benefit.

Power Girl is my favorite Kryptonian, though I never had enough nudge to check out her recent series. Will have to see if it's in trade and how many issues and such. Her design is really awesome too because she is related to Supes--Earth 2 but still a Supes--but doesn't have anything that reflects their look.

But i like ****ty mc**** ****'s costume.PG13 uh PG is sorta just there for me! D she don't sucks nor rocks but just "ok" its like "PG is here everybody go back to doing what you were before!" she's just ok!

I love Power Girl. Her Gray/Palmiotti/Conner series was fan-f**king-tastic. Her cat is pretty damn sweet too.

(Karen's whole "I have my chest window here because I wanted a Superman-type symbol, but couldn't think of anything" explanation to Clark for her exposed cleavage in the pages of JSA Confidential was pretty dumb, though.)

Geoff Johns comes up with weird retcons like that.

I prefer the explanation that she is proud of her breasts. And rightly so. I would be too.

Even without the retcons, Johns wrote Karen as a little bit of a b**ch. She'd get peeved when talking to people and their eyes would occasionally fall on her chest.

I mean, sure, you want people to look you in the eye when you're talking to them, but when you put your boobs on display like she does, you can't get mad at people for taking a look at what you're so proudly showing off.

Gray and Palmiotti thankfully just said "Screw it, PG obviously knows that people are gonna look at her, and she doesn't care. That's just how she rolls. Otherwise, she wouldn't have the cleavage window in the first place. Man, Johns is dumb. Now let's write some more boob jokes."

And it was awesome.

I've been meaning to pick some of that run up. It seems like fun.

It's b**chin'. Psychic monkeys, rhino people robbing banks, space pimp Sean Connery, and underground civilizations with ridiculous bikini spas. All contained within only 2 TPBs. Get them now.

Plus the artwork and writing are really damn sweet.

Yep I just ignore all that dumb nonsense Johns wrote about her 'chest window' in JSA classified.

Agreed

If my boobs were as impressive as that I would show them off ;)

And that is why Gray and Palmiotti are better than Geoff Johns

Only 2 TPBs makes it easier to check out. Sad to say that because it means it cancelled due to the relaunch. But good for me, still. :O

Well, now I have to get this.

Yes

Yes you do

It's fun on a bun

Always been a Powergirl fangirl but that comic book would even make someone who hates her love her

Well, that's it for PG

Boobs!

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Hal_Jordan_New_Frontier_.jpg

..........I don't like him. :o

I don't like him too much either.

He was cute in New Frontier though :hrt: But I never really read his comics and only heard about how horrible his is.

I actually really like Hal Jordan, he's one of the rare examples of a character who is both a by the book cop and a hotshot who has leeroy jenkins moments on a regularl basis, but these days it's hard for me to think of him apart from Geoff Johns' Green Lantern fanfic and that DEFINATELY spoils my opinion of him.

I didn't get into anything GL until the Sinestro Corps War came out. And I don't really plan on reading anything before that. It's not a dislike for the mythos or the GLC mythos it's just that it's a character I am must more interested and curious about now...but not one of my favorites. That said I like Hal but don't love him. My first exposure to anything GL related was the Timmverse JL and JLU stuff so didn't know things like Hal's downfall as Parallax before the retcon reason and him being Spectre and all.

I don't really care about the Spectre stuff but I like the downfall as Parallax with or without the retcon of it being a Fear Entity that took control over him. Just the idea that after a hero's city is decimated by a group of his villains he literally loses it...entices me.

The initial Paraax story was a neat idea that was poorly executed due to it being a total rushjob. If it had been a huge maxi series in of itself it would have worked better.

The Parallax Fear Demon retcon tried to fix the inherent flaws in the original story but failed to do so on account of being ****ing stupid as hell. All in all it was a decent enough premise that descended into cluster****ery very quickly.

I'm not a fan of Hal.

Yeah, that's about it, IMHO.

I love the GLs. Hal is still one of my favs but not my fav. I love Emerald Dawn though, the story that got me into GL. Tattooed on my right forearm.

I did like Hal in Emerald Dawn, since he actually seemed like an interesting character to me. Same with New Frontier. Rather than being just another cardboard cutout good guy with occasional authority issues, and whose solution to every problem was punching it in the face, the Hal Jordan in those particular stories seemed like a real human being.

Even so, similar to what I said earlier regarding Barry Allen, I think Hal was a better character dead than he was alive. Or at least much more interesting and with more potential to stand out from the crowd. I thought Hal made for a pretty cool Spectre, with unique ties to Earth's superhero community, and whose quest for redemption was something very intriguing, which we'd had the privilege of seeing every step of the way and experiencing it with the character at different personal levels over the years.

My dislike for Hal only really starts when he was brought back to life, had his more interesting backstory retconned away, and put up on a pedestal above the other (better) Lanterns.

I like Hal fine. He's one of those characters Post-Crisis fans love to hate; for that alone I'm inclined to like him. Hal works better in plot-first, Silver Age style adventures than he works in modern mindless gorefests. Although some people point to Emerald Dawn as the point where Hal was ruined, it was actually in the O'Neil/Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow where Hal went from a blank but inoffensive adventurer to being the whipping boy for Denny O'Neil's overbearing preaching that his decline began. Hal's main problem is he is best suited to plot-driven science-fiction superhero adventures and that's just not what comics are anymore, and there's no one in the business capable of writing them even if there was a market for it. Certainly not Geoff Johns.

Im in the middle with Hal. One side I like him but the other I dont like them. I espically dont like characters who die only to come back to a world where someone else has taken their place and done it successfully but then they get that spot light taken away from them because the "original" is back. So I give side eye to Hal.

My favourite image of Hal Jordan in recent years, since th Johns retcon... it may not be in continuity, but I don't care:
