Well, that's it for Roy.

Johnny Sorrow

look i hate this trend of not having a costume costume.. but if you are wearing a Dolce Gabbana made suit with your real face in another dimension! you are one bad ass cat! or as Luthor calls it his "power suit". Sorrow rocks especially since when you see his real face. That's about it for your ass!
Plus your name is "Johnny Sorrow" come on! that's bad!( How come there are alot of jesses ,Jonah and Johnnys in the DC verse? whats with the letter "J" and these guys?) Sorrow like all suit wearing cats is someone you dont want to tangle with, cause they dont want to mess up their Kenneth Cole designer outfit with nasty fisticuffs! they have exploitable pawns for that *&^% and for that He ROCKS!

Who's this dude? Never heard of him.

I like Roy a lot though. It's a shame he disappeared for those years between the end of Infinite Crisis and the beginning of Outlaws.

You never heard of Johnny Sorrow? For shame Wompus. For Shame. :o

JSA villain. Kinda awesome.

I think Speedy the junky is a pretty important part of the character at this point. It gace him a lot of depth. It was a source of a lot of character development. And that is not to say I want him to be a drug addict, just that him having once been one in past and having then kicked the habit resulted in a lot of very interesting character growth. He went from just being a cocky horn dog to being someone who was on the surface a cocky horn dog, but who had this intensity to him that was hiding just underneath. He had to kick a drug habit and turn his life around by sheer force of will, and what you got was someone who was very demanding of himself and others. It took him from just another wise cracking side kick to a leading hero in his own right.

As for the legion, how do reboots cause interest to wane? If anything Mark Waide's was one of the most popular runs on the book, and only lost momentum when the editors forced him to add Supergirl.

I thought the Speedy drug story was pretty silly, tbh. It was sort of cheesy.

As for the Legion, all the reboots over the years is what hurt them. The last reboot by Waid was actually not bad, since it brought back elements of the real Legion. Now they sort of have the real Legion back, which is good, although I think the biggest thing the Legion has missed over the years is Superboy.

As for Johnny Sorrow, he's a great villain and seems like he could have been created in the Golden Age. Awesome character.

I don't know what to say man. I read JSA from about Identity Crisis through Thy Kingdom Come and don't know him.

So you didn't see any Injustice Society then?

Go back to the beginning. You'll thank me.

It was very cheesy. Denny O'Neil's run on Green Lantern was pretty good, but it was far from subtle. But I'm talking about long term. Having that in his backstory and showing how he grew as a character to overcome it defined him as someone who was more than a Robin Clone, just like the beard and the snark and the political activism defined Green Arrow as someone who was more than a Batman clone.

How did they hurt the Legion?

And I actually prefer the Legion without Superboy. I feel like he distracts from all of the other characters and their team dynamic. Whenever he wasn't in the series, to me, it felt a lot more focused.

Well, that's it for Johnny.

Do I got something on my face? Yes? No?

Mon El

Meh. He always struck me as kind of bland. He was just Superman, again, but without any of the backsyory, personality, or supporting cast that makes him cool.

The only time I really liked him was in the 90s, when he had that whole Space-Jesus thing going on. It made him stand out, defined his personality a bit more, and gave him a whole host of conflicts to deal with. I especially liked his encounters with other Daxamites. It was like if Jesus showed up in the middle of the Crusades. Talk about awkward.

i always dug Mon-Elnucleosis. him having spent decades in the phantom zone kinda made him a scaredy cat Superman who was always unsure about himself cause he didnt want to go through that again. you have to ask yourself why would the legion need 2 Superman. Cause this one wasn't as sure as himself as the other! i kinda like how him and Superboy played off each other as Mon-el was the older, quiet brother to Supes. Mon-Elrail Rocks.

on Speedy it was the 60's and 70's of course they were cheesy, but i would take that over the Heavy emotional drama soap opera rollercoster ride that seems to apply to every hero now. Damn! where is just the fun days of i can put my hand through your chest!:cwink:

I dug Superboy with the legion. It's kinda like if kids now went back in time and met George Washington and thought he was just the man!! I dug how Supes hadn't become the legend the legion knew. So He always had this but that aint me, i am just some teenage kid who can dropkick a truck. appeal to him. Plus alot of the great stories back then never even had Supes in em. he was more for the Marquee value that his name brought.

I like Mon El :)

Digging him as leader of the Legion right now and I liked him when he was appearing in the Superman book too

It's good stuff

Johnny Sorrow was a fab villain melodramatic, crazy and creepy with a geeat design. Love how the character looks and he should show up more often

Him and the Injustice Society make good villains for the JSA

I like Mon-El because he's sort of the quieter, more reserved and less revered version of Superboy, but he's every bit as decent and noble. He's Lou Gehrig to Superboy's Babe Ruth.

hate him. i can only deal with so many characters that ALL have the superman powerset. Not to mention the lame costume.

That is the most apt way I've ever heard him described.

Hahahhaha cause of course you know i just gotta go there.. but you Like the Sentry???

hehe Sorry Rand ole pal!:cwink:

by the way that pic of Mon-el looks like freakin Tom Welling from Smallville! no way that's a coincidence.. either that or i am seeing things!( which by my alcohol blood content is quite possible!hehe)

THAT'S who he looks like! Jesus, that was bugging me for like a year and a half. :o

You're thinking of Tom Welling, although Jesus hears that all the time...

Well, that's it for the hero formally known as Space Jesus.

Star tights!

Swamp Thing

Really dig Swamp Thing. Slowly getting through the Alan Moore run and so far Scott Snyder's version has been great. I'd highly suggest those not picking it up to really give it a try. Also, if you pick that up you should probably get Animal Man because those two series are like two peas in a pod.

I loves Swamp Thing ever since I read Alan Moore's Swamp Thing stories

Loving the new series so far too
