State Your Opinion on a Marvel Character - Part 1

The Hand were cool when they were just villains for DD, Wolverine and the X-Men in general. They've become way too overexposed.

Stane was cool back in the day. Is he still dead?

Maaaaaannnnn! if there was a ultimate suckifier combined with the "Suck the life "outta you equation combined with the Infinity suckage!. the Hand would be it!!

Stane is cool : evil businessman (which are real!)+ a hair club for men bald head ( how come evil businessmen have no hair?!? .. must be all that plotting!)+with a suit of Armour. it's been done before but, = it's always cool!

Obadiah Stane was cool and he really seemed to destroy Tony Stark. It was great when he finally suited up as Iron Monger but was defeated in battle because of his lack of experience, despite all his chess strategy. I think the overall story did drag for a few years though. And Luke McDonnell's art wasn't all that great, or rather he needed a better inker. It always looked a little stiff.

The Hand are awesome. One of my favorite villain groups of all-time.

No opinion on Stane.

I only know Stane from the movie, but his son...I am very familiar with. :cmad: I guess I'll hate anybody who hates Iron Man. *biased fangirl laughter*

Obi is

Obi's age was originally quite close to Tony,, he told Masque of his childhood 20 years ago (in story time), and he stole Stark International after S.H.I.E.L.D hijacked a lot of the stocks

Oh, I see. But there was this one Iron Man comic with a special flashback story attached to it, on how Maria and Howard met each other, and Maria was shown to have previously been dating Obadiah. Maybe they retconned it after the movie.

This is the one:

Definitely retconned. In fact, Obadiah Stane was originally meant to be slightly younger than Tony Stark. He was a bit like the equivalent of a Michael Rosenbaum Lex Luthor in Smallville. Stane told his miserable sob story in Iron Man #198 of how he witnessed his father shoot himself in the head when he was young, causing Obadiah to lose all his hair. Then later as a kid, he killed his chess rival's dog in order to upset the boy and win a chess tournament. He employed the same kind of techniques as an adult.

He definitely wasn't older than Tony as in the movie. They switched Stane and Hammer's ages around. Stane was meant to be younger and Hammer meant to be much older.

Yeah, I actually was wondering why Hammer wasn't an old dude in the movie, maybe to serve the story better, plus I LOVED Sam Rockwell's portrayal! In the comics though, he IS old enough to have a daughter...and a granddaughter.

Amadeus Cho

I LOOOOVE Amadeus!! :D Especially his 'sweet ride.'
What's the kids genius up to nowadays? the last I heard was when he bamboozled a bunch of heroes into joining his new team during Fear Itself...which didn't work out.

I do like Amadeus. But I can never get through his solo stories.

I honestly only know Reptil from the Superhero Squad show, so that might not necessarily be an accuratate portrayal of him.

Is Amadeus Cho any relation to Frank Cho?

Amadeus Cho is awesome. Loved Incredible Hercules when it was going. One of the best comics this century.

Amadeus is a great character, he "Does enough."

Reptil has a great power set , though I don't really no much about his personality aside from the cartoons.

^ hahaha I doubt it, Frank Cho is a real person! Maybe it's a reference to him or his kid?

Reptil's all right. His future self kind of sucked, but he's gone now so that doesn't really matter. I'm looking forward to what else Gage does with him in Avengers Academy.

Man, Amadeus irritated the hell out of me initially, but The Incredible Hercules really turned him around. I miss that series. :csad:

They're both pretty cool. I can't really see Reptil promoted to the main Avengers squad years down the line even though he's the team leader of AA.

absolutely no opinion on Reptil..although the name alone bugs me...

Love Amadeus! I think he'd be great if he had interaction with more of the main Marvel books/characters and have himself a bit more exposure. Maybe not quite up to Wolvie levels, but he it could totally be done, IMO.

Cho in hercules was awesome!

That other dude I have no clue and like green said that name alone makes me not want to either!

As long as you don't give Amadeus a reason to talk about the Hulk (whose green junk I'm sure he wants to ride in the worst/most awkward way), he's a pretty damn awesome character.
