State Your Opinion on a Marvel Character - Part 1

I do not like Reptil. He's the most generic newbie super hero I have ever seen. He's basically 1994 Kyle Rayner with a lot of his personality sucked out.

Amadeus Cho, on the other hand, is a mother ****ing boss. One of the most clever ideas for a Marvel character of all time, especially as Hercules' side kick. Who better to be side kick to a three thousand year old lecherous strongman with an attitude than a 12 year old techno wiz?

Sharon/Ms. Marvel/Thing

I liked Sharon as the Thing. I never had much exposure to her elsewhere.

Psycho Man's all right. I always feel like he should be much cooler/more intimidating than he actually is, though.

I never heard of either but ms marvel as the thing is just wrooooong...

Here's my take on Sheri, she was not the greatest character ever, but she was a solid moral character and deserves a lot better than where she was left in the marvel U.

She should have been killed off rather than treated like she was.

Psycho man is a cool looking guy. I know him, but i can't recall one single marvel story with him.

I remember Psycho Man torturing the FF and turning Sue into Malice. He was also the catalyst to her becoming Invisible Woman instead of Invisible Girl. He turned She-Hulk into a scared little girl.

I never knew the background behind Sharon Ventura's mutation to She-Thing. I remember her as Ms Marvel (and back then I wished we had the genuine Carol Danvers version). However, I just thought that the enhancements she was taking eventually had a nasty side effect of mutating her into a Thing-like form. I know Ben Grimm mutated to a more monstrous form himself.

Why does She-Thing need to wear a bra in some of her portrayals? She looks exactly like Ben Grimm except for a couple of peaks, which could easily be indistinguishable from Rob Liefeld pecs. It's not like, in their rocky form, they would even really resemble breasts. I wonder if there would even be any nipples. They would just be slightly more pointy rocks. In any event, She-Thing just looks like Ben Grimm in drag. There is no feminine appearance like say, She-Hulk who is sexy.

I thought Sharon Ventura/She-Thing was awesome. It's one of those gems from the 80's that writers don't give a crap about now.

Psycho Man is a pretty neat idea - but I don't remember reading anything with him that made him come across as an 'A'-lister...and I think he has potential to be one. I like him well enough...

She-thing? I wasn't particularly enamored of her back in the day and the same feeling exists today. Kinda kooky for a one-shot story or something, but as a continual character? Nah...you can do better than that...

Never really cared for either ,but I reaaallly never gave 2 cents about she thing! Maaaaan!hell naw!

I'm guessing it's more of a psychological thing. She still viewed herself as a woman, and no woman is gonna walk around bare-chested in modern American society.

While the rest of her body was rocky, her boobs were like a sculpture. Hence the unitard. And when you get down to it, space rock boobs are interesting......you gotta give em that. :o

That other guy seems like a psycho pirate ripoff. :o

Sharon Ventura was a nice character for Ben to get to know after his time on Battleworld. She looked just like the girl he fell in love with on the planet that he made up in his mind. She reminds me of his time with motorcycle riders and the Wrestling Federation he joined. He ascension to She-Thing was a very "comic book" thing to do, but it didn't age very well. Her turn at Ms. Marvel was a little more acceptable as at the time Carol was Binary and it suited Sharon.

She-Thing is a nice time capsule but that's about it.

Psycho Man is a great FF villain. Unlike Psycho Pirate, he's not an idiot. And his home in the Microverse is fun. Without him we would never have seen Malice and Sue damn near killed him for what he did to her. I always liked when he teamed up with the Hate Monger.

Fear Itself should have been a collection of Fear Villains with Psycho Man right at the front. Manipulating agendas from the shadows.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

I always wished Ben would return to the spiky form he was in while Sharon was She-Thing. That was a cool design.

How did they undo that anyway? I know Ben was hit with cosmic rays a second time while in his Thing form mutating him further and since Sharon was with him she became a Thing as well.

He turned back into Ben Grimm after the spikey period. He wore a Thing Suit for a bit, then there was a story that the movie sort of used where the FF were in trouble and he used one of Reed's gizmos to turn back into his rocky form. "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing", I believe it was.

Hmm, well I'm with Corp. The spiky form was pretty neat. It made him look more bad-ass.

I didn't dig the spiky look that much.I dig the ...smoother??? Rock look better. I did dig that in that form he was stronger than the hulk who was" mr.fix it!" at the time. Dude cheated and still beat thing!! I dig hulk but that pissed me off!just once I want ben to beat the &%$# outta dude!(since as a kid I loved thing more and my friend loved hulk and we would almost come to blows over who was stronger...haha well we were talking about him!

I prefer the classic smooth rocky look for Ben too. I prefer him to look more like a giant teddy bear than too menacing.

Ben faced Mr. Fixit, then a Green Hulk Doombot, then Mr. Fixit AGAIN. Back to back to back.

He still won.

:D

Uh huh your bias is showing frankie! I would like one big massive Wooping of the hulk ! I know my friend still laughs about it! The worst look was that stupid helmet after wolverine cut his face !I think that was when my hatred of wolvie really started to grow!

He's supposed to be rocky but some artists have drawn him too smooth.

Same here, that and how he was always used to humiliate Cyclops.

I liked Sharon fine, the She-Thing bit was weird but even that had potential if done differently.
