Dr. Peter Corbeau

Maria Hill

I have no idea who that first dude is.

Hill.....Hill has grown on me. She's a much better character now that she's stopped being a b***h.

The first guy is a long lost supporting character of the X-Men. He was a buddy of Xavier's and Bruce Banner back in the day. He was the X-Men's token human supporting character when they were involved in space stuff like the Dark Phoenix Saga and such.

He's pretty insignificant these days, much like the rest of the rest of the X-Men's non mutant supporting cast. It's the biggest problem with the X-Men (after M-Day), all of their key human cast members have been killed off, like Senator Kelly and Moira. It's left a huge void.

Maria Hill went from a b***h, to a great character in Invincible Iron Man to almost invisible as a background character in the Avengers. Both her and Victoria Hand deserve more treatment. I still think she's awesome though.

I didn't recognize Corbeau either, and I've actually read the Dark Phoenix stuff.

Hill started off pretty terrible but she's gotten betterish. I still can't say I particularly like her. Would've much preferred to see Dum Dum in the movie and cartoon instead of her (which doesn't even make sense because the whole point of her character was to be the one major SHIELD agent who wasn't part of Fury's inner circle), but whatevs.

Dum Dum wasn't used all that much in the Cap movie, which is a shame because Neal McDonough is an great actor. He's totally killing it on Justified right now. Maybe he'll get worked into the Cap sequel. At least we're getting Cobie Smulders in a skin tight SHIELD jumpsuit.:woot:

He'd have to have been frozen in ice too or something, cuz I don't see them breaking out the infinity formula just for Dum Dum.

:spidey:Kinda tired of Spiderman being the goof ball comic relief. He's turned into Plastic Man. It's just jokey joke in every situation.

I know that wisecracks are a part of his thing. But it's in over-drive now. Even in the most heinous situations....

Have to preserve the 'tache....

no opinion on the first dude...the name sounds vaguely familiar but I'm not the biggest X-men follower so I could see how his appearances would have fallen through the cracks for me.

Maria Hill...agree with the others, as I thought she was the token b****y female supporting cast member when she first started appearing in things, but now - mostly due to the Invincible Iron Man (one of the comics I got back into a bit ago), I thought she had changed for the better. At least she was presented as such in that mag...

True enough. I can't get mad at that.

It's not gonna happen. I think the whole reason Fury wasn't with the Howling Commandos in the first place is because they wanted to streamline the movies. Captain America himself is the man out of time. No need to have like half of his supporting cast be WWII refugees too.

I never really liked Hill. Maybe I'll change my mind once I watch Avengers. But I don't like her in the comics and I DON'T like her in the cartoon.
Always beating up on Tony, of all people D:
I guess she's just trying to do her job but seriously. Does she think SHIELD can handle this by themselves??

Jasper Sitwell

And made exclusively for the movies (but used in the new cartoon)
Agent-Coulson_Comics.jpg

Phil Coulson

I never read much with Sitwell. Whose comics did he appear in predominantly?

Coulson's cool. I love him in the movies and I hope he's brought over to the comics eventually. Nothing wrong with a character that started out in other media, so long as they're good. Granted, we probably have enough "________, Agent of SHIELD" characters already, but SHIELD's a big organization.

COULSON COULSON I <3 COULSON! He's totally awesome! Good to see him get attention in this thread. Of all the noncomic characters in the movies, he's the best and most well developed.

Sitwell was mainly Iron Man I think but has shown up in other books like the Avengers and Punisher. I really don't have a strong opinion on either one, not enough exposure to both.

Hmmm...now I am just about positive I have read some stuff with Sitwell in 'em, but unfortunately I can't form an opinion on the guy...so I must not be too enamored with 'em...

Agent Coulson...totally dig and agree - one of the better supporting cast folks in the movies. If he makes it to the comic arena AND is portrayed with the same kind of personality...that would be very cool!

No idea about Sitwell, don't have the background there, but  really enjoy Agent Coulson...stubbornly plugging along, doing his best to do his job despite the uncooperative nutjobs like Stark and "Donald Blake" that he occasionally gets stuck with the hopeless task riding herd on.

He has made it into a panel or two in the recent AEMH small-format spinoff/intro book (#2) as a backup for Maria Hill to talk to...don't know if that's a better sign for him turning up on TV or in other comics, but I'd like to see him around in either.

From Stan Lee & Gene Colan we got this highly talkative agent of S.H.I.E.L.D in Iron Man back in Tales of Suspense
He loved Whitney Frost
Was injured by Spymaster
but  really enjoy Agent Coulson
CBR way of posting emotions doesn't work here, we have either a : woot: or a ": D" (no spacing) for that emotion

Sitwell was a *****e as far as I know. (Which was mainly from the Avengers Assemble mini.)

I dig Coulson though. Cool character.

I like that he wears a suit instead of a jumpsuit. More SHIELD agents should look like normal CIA-style spies in normal suits.

Sitwell was the top SHIELD nerd back in the day. He looked like a cross between Barry Allen and Jimmy Olsen.

Maria Hill can burn in hell like everything Bendis has ever done.

Coulson I can take or leave but I wish they had used a real comics character instead.

Corbeau was a good character but the X-books have been disasters for years, no clue what's happened to him or if he's been forgotten.
