Horror Stephen King's "IT" Part I and Part II

Saw this on Reddit yesterday:

Who did the kid in the middle play?

A beard doesn't seem very Eddie, so I would assume so.

Hot and humid in Toronto, at the moment. Going to be seeing some sweaty Losers.

Actually, I'm wondering if we'll be seeing more of Toronto than Port Hope this time around? Derry goes through a bit of a makeover in those 27 years.

I think Toronto will be used mostly for the pre-Derry scenes where we find all the characters in their “successful” careers.

All scenes that will be shot in studio will be in Toronto so they could be filming at Pinewood right now. That said, I'm sure the 6ix will be the stand in for city scenes.

Hype rising. :woot:

I was thinking earlier that I can't wait to see the scenes at the end when [BLACKOUT]the weather and everything goes haywire and Derry literally caves into itself, the standpipe topples over and everywhere starts flooding after they kill Pennywise for good[/BLACKOUT]. Such an awesome sequence in the book.

The fact that we get to have a two-part epic horror film that takes place over 27 years of time in the narrative is pretty amazing.

I'd be very surprised if that actually makes the movie.

Why? It's an important sequence at the end of the book showing that [BLACKOUT]IT's influence has finally left Derry for good and the town is dying as a consequence[/BLACKOUT], I don't see why they'd leave it out when it makes such an epic ending.

From the It Facebook page.

These days, nothing about fandom surprises me, but it really is something to see folks on Twitter express confusion over [blackout]Stan[/blackout] being present in this group.

They really can't seem to comprehend that movie audience =/= book audience

It would be such a huge, disaster movie sequence, I just don't see them filming something that big. Besides, it wasn't in the mini series either.

I mean, it's not like the miniseries had the budget for something like that. There's more time for it in Part 2.

The mini-series didn't have many sequences a big budget movie would have. Also, the budget for this second part is even bigger I'm sure than the first part thanks to the huge gobs of money it made. Of course they would include it.

It wasn't in the miniseries, because they didn't have the budget. Its absence is also one of the many reasons that the adults' section of the miniseries sucks.

I don't think they'll do everything that's in the book from that sequence, not least of all because much of it is about revealing the fates of Derry citizens who we sadly haven't been able to spend time with in the movie(s). However, I guarantee some version of it that emphasizes that Derry's reckoning has come will occur. They already hinted at it when the first scene in the first movie after Georgie's death is Mike dealing with executing cattle in a pen.

Derry is Pennywise's cattle pen, and the humans the cattle. When [blackout]Pennywise dies for good, his proverbial barn, is going with him.[/blackout] The movie will make that clear.

I guess we'll see. But I'm saying it might not, not that it definitely won't.
