Horror Stephen King's "IT" Part I and Part II

Just saw the trailer and yes I'm definitely interested in seeing the follow up to this. Really enjoyed the characters in the first film.

Horror movies starring early middle aged adults are few and far between. I feel like it's something different as of late. Either they're all kids, teenagers or 20 somethings.
Good point. That will make for a nice change too.

The world needs a horror movie about a haunted retirement home. ;)

Or maybe a slasher-movie set in the same place.

Cause they are usually more rational than kids, teens, or twentysomethings. So they would usually have to do something pretty stupid to be put in peril... which is why I didn't like Prometheus.

Though King kinda wrote them to even still be as unsure of themselves as adults as they were back in the day.

So apparently, Screen Rant believe that the movie is ruining the Mrs Kersh scene by sacrificing slow burn for immediate shocks. I disagree with that. I think that scene is a slow burn. Obviously it's been edited down for a trailer and whilst the background stuff let's the audience know that there's something wrong, Beverly is oblivious to it.which is what builds the tension. What are your thoughts. Does the scene work?

I think the internet is a strange, sometimes magical, but often frustrating place. Here we are, sharing a love for geekdom and movies, but on the flip side of that coin, people now have a soapbox to complain about every single possible thing on the planet.

They dissect every trailer and clip, and make immediate assumptions about the quality of a TV show or movie, without the context of the rest of the scene.

The movie ruins the Mrs. Kersh scene because there's no slow burn? It's a minute long clip that's probably chopped up into a dozen pieces to be used as a teaser for the movie. How can you possibly make a statement like that without having seen the whole film?

Of course, Screen Rant needs the content, so they'll make a controversial 15-minute video with 2 minutes of *actual* content so they can get that juicy ad revenue.

And to be clear, when I say "how can you make a statement like that..." of course I'm referring to the general "you" and not a specific person.

It works, but there's WAY too much of it in the trailer, for my liking.

So it's gonna include the infamous hate crime scene that was in the novel and was not from the miniseries?

Ah yes the Adrian Mellon scene. He was cast in the movie so its definitely in there.

Wasn’t hugely impressed by the trailer but wasn’t for the last one either

But what did you think of the first film of the new adaptation? and some people on youtube found the nude old lady running around to be funny and not scary at all.

Now The Shining, that was scary to have a nude old woman in a King movie.

Says the guy who's done nothing but bash adaptations and remakes for "Not being original". -_-

I liked the first movie quite a bit, did find it slightly over rated though.

I like new adaptations of books and remakes if they are done well instead of half assed like say Lynch's Dune or Elm Street or unwanted remakes like Poltergeist. Nothing is original you know as it doesn't exist on originality as that doesn't exist you know.

What about the mini-series?

Fair enough.
