Horror Stephen King's "IT" Part I and Part II

The director worked with her in 2013’s Mama.

And she’s a great actress. Who looks close enough to the child actor. That’s all that matters.

With a producer having told her who they were going to cast and saying 'say Jessica'.

Yeah and telling four of the other kids to say celebs they never cast. That's an inspired conspiracy theory you have there.

Chastain appeared in his other movie. Also her friend is playing Audra lol

They've chosen wrongly for me, my view that's all. It should have been Adams, its not, I'm pissed. Life goes on.

Even though they won't make any more sequels after this even if the movie is successful or if it bombs,I want it to be successful so they will keep making more Stephen King movies to the big screen.

It's not like WB can just pluck whatever actor they want out of an assembly line. Maybe Adams wasn't available or...interested. Who cares? Chastain is a great performer and she'll be great in the role. Let it be and move on.

This.

We never had any real reason to think they were looking at Adams, literally none whatsoever. It's beyond silly to get angry about her not playing a role she was never connected to in the first place. We have Chastain, anyone following the movie should have seen her casting coming well before it happened, and known better than to get attached to a fan casting. Chastain is a damn good actress and we're lucky to have her in this film.

You literally can't lose with either one imo, and the younger actress can, and now has, played the younger version of both of them. They both fit her well. They won either way. I'm surprised to still be seeing this

Me too. Adams did great as Camille Preaker in Sharp Objects, and I'm glad another talented actress is playing the adult version of another character portrayed by Sophia Lillis. Camille and Bev are quite different: I wouldn't be able to see Amy Adams as Bev now.

Today should be a good indicator to Warner bros that a 3 hour film will not be at all dentramental to the box office for a highly popular film. IT is a guaranteed 100+ million dollar opener regardless, let Andy release the cut he put forward.

I can still see the hesitance in releasing an R-Rated, 3 hour flick.

That’s only because it hasn’t been done before, a three hour horror film is unprecedented. That’s not to say this should pave the way for more long horror films, because it shouldn’t. The shooting title for this film was Largo, and that itself means moving at a slow and steady pace. Which this story warranted.

I would totally watch a 3 hour version of IT.....at home. Kind of a slog for theaters.

Footage descriptions from CinemaCon!!!!

First 'IT: Chapter Two' Footage Debuts at CinemaCon

"Grown Beverly goes to Kersey's house. She is looking for her father. She grew up here. A creepy woman finally opens the door and informs her that her father passed away," Davis detailed. "She invites her in for a drink, insisting. Beverly has trouble visiting this place, calling it 'cleaner' when asked. She finds the love note from the first film. Down the hall, the old woman starts to contort her body and jumps out of the door frame. Over tea, the woman plays a record. There are creepy bugs on the window. They converse and joke that it is so hot here that they could die. 'No one who dies here ever really dies,' the woman says before a creepy stare. Beverly is caught off guard by the woman's temporary freeze. She is sweating profusely and fanning herself with her shirt, revealing a cut on her chest. A bell sounds and the woman goes to retrieve cookies. Beverly looks at the photos on the wall in the mean time, asking about the woman's family -- her father joined the circus. The woman walks through the background with her clothes. She asks Beverly, "Are you still his little girl?" before beginning to yell and quickly rush towards her."

Davis added, "The Losers' Club reunites, both in the past and in the present. Pennywise is flying on balloons. Romance in the past and present. Pennywise emerges from a shadow in a basement and says 'Hello!' to a little girl."

'It Chapter 2' Footage Unleashes Pennywise, Reveals Grown-Up Losers' Club [CinemaCon 2019]

The It Chapter 2 footage shown at CinemaCon wasn’t a trailer, but rather a scene that gave way to a quick sizzle reel. The scene in question is lifted directly from Stephen King’s book. The adult Bev Marsh (Jessica Chastain) returns to her childhood home in Derry, looking for her father. Instead, she encounters an old woman named Mrs. Kersh now living in the house. Mrs. Kersh sadly informs Bev that her father passed away, and then invites Bev into her house.

Bev obliges. Once inside, she finds the old poem on the postcard Ben sent her in the first film. And then things start to get creepy. “You know what they say about Derry,” says Mrs. Kersh. “No one who dies here never really dies.” She fixes Bev with a scary, blank stare, and sure enough, Pennywise soon rears his ugly head.

From here, the audience was treated to quick flashes from the film: the adult Losers’ Club wandering through empty streets. The younger Losers’ Club riding their bikes. An adult Bev rising out of a lake of blood. Bill Hader as the adult Richie beneath a giant statue of Paul Bunyan (another item lifted directly from the book). The adults regrouping and returning to the sewers. And of course, a ton of red balloons being released into the sky.

Sounds awesome. Can't wait till we get the first trailer. I'm ready for more creepy ballon imagery.

Going to resist reading the description. Happy to know it's coming soon.

First 'It: Chapter Two' Footage Hits CinemaCon

Director Andy Muschietti came on stage Tuesday with a bunch of big balloons in hand. Stars including Chastain, Hader, McAvoy and Finn Wolfhard joined him onstage, where the younger versions of the cast spoke about having adult actors play older versions of them selves.

"She's an amazing actress and she looks a lot like me," Beverly actress Sophia Lillis of Chastain being cast as her older self.

Stranger Things star Wolfhard did give some thought to who would play the older version of Richie. "Richie is funny — to himself," Wolfhard said, a comment that made Hader laugh.

" 'Yeah, Hader thinks he's funny,' " Hader said. " 'Who's an ******* who thinks he's funny?' "

McAvoy revealed that his X-Men: Dark Phoenix co-star Chastain was the one who turned him on to the project. "Jessica Chastain, when we were making X-Men, she was rocking an evil wig look and badass. She took me aside and said 'listen, there's this really ****ing great director," recalled McAvoy. " 'They really want you to play the older Bill.' "

Another description of the footage!
It begins with an extended scene as Beverly goes back to her childhood apartment in Derry, looking for her father. An older lady answers the door, telling Beverly her father passed away. The woman invites her to come in and have something to drink. She looks around the apartment, and finds a postcard she was given by Ben as a young girl, smiling as she reads the inscription: "Your hair is winter fire, January embers."

What Beverly doesn't notice is the older woman is taken by an unseen force, and then reappears, presumably taken over by Pennywise.

"It's so hot you feel like you could die," the woman says. "You know what they say about Derry? No one who dies here ever really dies."

Then there's a long pause, as the conversation gets creepier and creepier. The woman reveals a sore on her chest. Beverly looks at a family photo from the old woman, who tells her the father used to work at the circus. She's startled to notice the picture has a human-looking version of Pennywise's face – and soon the woman, naked, is chasing her.

After the extended scene, there are a lot of shots, including Pennywise floating over a carnival with red balloons and the adult versions of the Losers Club assembling.

The scene with Bev and Mrs. Kersh!
