Stephen King's "IT" remake has found a writer - Part 3

He would also fit the part for Bill as well. They really look a like.

Yeah for sure. I still think Jessica Chastain is a shoe in for Bev. I hope they get a big-ish name for Stan. That'll be a good shock.

Richie was the MVP of the club. And it's amazing how the actor plays a complete 180 in Stranger Things and is more like Bill.

Yeah that kid has range. I can see Finn Wolfhard and Sophia Lillis be huge stars when they grow up.

They were definite stand outs. I think they're gonna be really big in the years to come.

I like the original series for the camp and for what it is, but there's no part of it that's remotely scary.

Yeah just comparing the Georgie scene. One has massive, horrifying pay-off, lifted from the book, another has a close-up of PW's face, and a whimper of a scene transition. How the miniseries has any clout beyond Curry is beyond me. Nostalgia?

Seeing it again at the AMC near my place and they got signs saying no clown costumes and no weapons.

I don't want any famous names in the adult roles. What made the kids work is I had never seen any of them before besides Richie. If you cast Bill Hader, it'll be hard for me to see anyone but Bill Hader.

The one in NYC had those signs too, although the theater clean-up crew all had balloons when we were leaving.

I have to admit my favorite line was

and now I gotta kill this effin clown

My theater lost it at that line. :funny:

My other favorite:

"These are just GAZEBOS!!!"

My two favorite lines from this movie both came from Richie and they were
"Do only virgins see this ****" and "This mothereffer is leaking hamburger helper" LMAO!!!

Finn Wolfhard really is a foul mouthed little **** in this movie, and while a character like that usually isn't all that likeable I have to admit he had me and my audience laughing pretty damn hard. I know he was in Stranger Things, but I never knew the kid had that much range.

Just got back from seeing it, I loved it. That was quite possibly the most tense movie going experience of my entire life. Not once was I able to sit and relax while watching.

I do have a few minor quibbles though:
[blackout]- I thought they played the NKOTB joke one step too far with the poster.
- The way they beat IT in the mini series was better with the sling shot and the rocks.
- I really missed "this is battery acid you slime" in this version
- Mike and Stan weren't given as much to do as everyone else. Mike especially.[/blackout]

I tell you what did surprise me, how much the CG didn't bother me or take away from the scares.

Skarsgard was fantastic as Pennywise. I got a real Freddy Krueger vibe off him too (not a bad thing.

Of the kids Richie and Eddie were my favourites.

IT was a thrill ride from start to finish. I'm unsure how well it will hold up on rewatches but the first experience we certainly a special one.

8.5/10

My theater lost it at that line. :funny:

Oh **** me that cracked me up so much and everyone else in the cinema. Brilliant line.

I have to admit my favorite line was

That line was gold too. I was like **** yeah when he said that haha

Stephen King’s It has been released in 46 markets and is breaking opening first day records already in some key countries. It has grabbed $16.1M so far on 10,560 screens bringing its running cume up to $25.7M for New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. It has logged the biggest opening day ever for a horror film in the U.K., Brazil, Russia, Australia, Holland and across Eastern Europe. In Spain, the grosses for the movie were more than double of The Conjuring and Annabelle and it logged the biggest opening day for a Warner Bros. film this year.

Blitz you don't have to keep posting new updates on the numbers. We know its' going to be a hit. At least not for any mini milestones lol.

I can't help it. I'm obsessed with 'IT'. :D :D

It's 3:40 am in my country atm and I'm scouring the internet for more 'IT' related news. AAHHH, I can't be saved. I know I'LL FLOAT TOO

That line was gold too. I was like **** yeah when he said that haha

And he grabs the bat and Pennywise just has a look of "oh *****"

The moment was well earned.

Was there anything on the end credits? Me and my mate didn't stay for the end.

Yeah that was brilliant.

Not going to see this for awhile but so happy to see it doing well and that people like it.

Nothing really besides hearing Pennywise's laugh.

Ahh I see, so guess they added that to show that he is still alive to the audience. A little teaser of things to come.

I've watched his review of the miniseries a couple of times and it really feels like he doesn't like Stephen King work at all as well.

If they don't like the book why even review the film? Its just more of what you don't like. I think reviewers need to start staying away from things they have a bias against. If I remember he didn't like The Shining mini series but liked the movie.

The studio that gave us A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Conjuring horror franchises has created another milestone for the genre with their feature adaptation of Stephen King’s It, which is now on course to slot the best opening day ever for an R-rated and horror title with an estimated $51M (easily smashing Deadpool‘s $47.3M) and the second best R-title three-day between $103.4M-$108M, behind Deadpool‘s $132.4M. In addition, for any post-summer title opening before November, It‘s weekend is higher than anything released prior in September or October.

With no signs this AM of It slowing down (East Coast sales are brisk) and with good holds expected for tonight, some longtime box office observers are thinking this film could even float up to $120M by the time the screaming stops late Sunday.

Job responsibility i guess. Fans asking him to do it since they found his miniseries review entertaining. Right i forgot about that, though considering how different the Shining film is from King's story i guess it was easy to forget that fact.

Even if you don't end up loving the movie it's still very much worth seeing on the big screen at least once for the experience alone. I had such a fun audience yesterday even though their were a lot of kids and teenagers. They reacted in all the right ways and I felt fortunate enough to not have to deal with any obnoxious a-holes. It's not going to be the same everywhere unfortunately, but it's worth taking a chance IMO.

Dude who played Patrick would make the perfect younger version of Adam Driver/Kylo Ren!
