Well yea I'm not criticising it for that. I think it's a really well made film and one of the best book to movie adaptations, not just King.

I think Derry being "evil" or corrupt was shown just enough. We don't need to be spoon fed. But it shows us the history of the town, it hints at the apathy towards all the murders and disappearances. Plus every single adult is ****ed up in one way or another.

Basically I just don't think any movie can scare me any more. I can't hold that against the movie though.

Yeah I feel the same way. Games are where it's at. Play PT or Resident Evil 7 in VR.

Those were the two lines that got the biggest laughs at my showing. Along with Richie's line about only virgins being able to see Pennywise. t:



In all fairness though, you could say that about pretty much every horror film ever made. People not turning the damn lights on is a horror staple, like people splitting up instead of staying together in the creepy old house, cemetery, forest, e.t.c.

most of the lines said by the kids made me chuckle but the only one that made me actually burst into laughter was Eddie's Gazebo line. That caught me off guard. However my favorite line from the whole film is from Pennywise at the end when he has Bill and the kids ask him to let him go.

"I'll take him! I'll take all of you! and I'll feast on your flesh as I feed on your fear... Or... you'll just leave us be... and i'll take him. Only him, and I will have my long rest and you will all live to grow and thrive and lead happy lives, until old age takes you back to the weeds."

It reminded me of the end of Jeepers Creepers. I found that movie scarier than IT.

Really enjoyed this movie 9/10. Wasnt that scary but it really was more of a coming of age "adventure thriller" like Stranger Things. The kids were loveable and the movie never felt boring when it was just them bantering.

My only complaint/nitpick is I felt they could've done more to show the bond all these kids have with each other. Mike, for example, joins the group so late in the film and he kind of felt like this extra tangental character to me. I feel like his character didnt get nearly enough to do. Stan neither.

I actually think the 1990 mini series handled the bond and character development between ALL of the kids better and you believed it. I feel like there probably is a lot more footage to this movie that had more character development for each kid that got dumped for time which is understandable.

Saw it yesterday. Sadly I had to see it dubbed in spanish, as I didn't buy the tickets. Besides that, I loved it. I think it's a much better adaptation than the mini-series. My only complain is that you don't really see or feel much of the dread that covers Derry, and that I would have loved to see bit more of Pennywise, but other than that, it's incredibly good. Not as scary as I would have expected, but it's pretty gerat filmmmaking.

Does anyone have a picture of the shot where Pennywise is in the field with the high grass where he meets Eddie for the first time where hes holding the balloons. I've googled it and can only find pictures with the balloons not showing. Is there a wide cut that shows him standing there with them showing from a distance. It was one of my favorite shots from the movie

I mean, that was a pretty nasty fall. Even if he survived that he'd be stranded down there in the sewers to starve or be eaten.

Went and saw IT a few days ago. I liked the movie, but I felt it was flawed. It relies on jump scares that are often telegraphed by an overbearing soundtrack. The cgi felt cartoony and for me the projector scene was easily the worst scene in the movie. The scene had great tension which was ruined the moment [BLACKOUT]Pennywise jumped out of the picture and we saw a giant cartoon clown chase the kids around in the garage[/BLACKOUT].

I thought it weird there were three 80's montages in the film. The all took me out of the movie, but the first one reminded of this family guy scene.

I didn't really warm to Skarsgard as Pennywise. His version felt less articulate, less charming than Curry's Pennywise. Maybe even a bit Gollum-like in the sewer. A bit rambling. Sure he was menacing, but I felt there were some odd choices made with his portrayal. I never quite got used to his sing song voice, with both the higher and lower tones sounding off to me. Not that I thought he was horrible. I just didn't find him the highlight of the film.

I thought the kids were great though. Their coming of age story and bonding as a group I found myself more invested in. Bowers too was good too with the scenes with his father giving some brief, but important insight into his character.

They should have left the bathroom as something just for Bev to see and deal with. The kids didn't go out looking for Eddie's leper. They didn't go burn the painting come to life for Stan.

Me and my gf just came back from the cinema.

Really liked it. Very scary at times and the young cast had really good chemistry.

I now want to read the book at some point in the future!
