Glad the Volms didn't completely turn into the new enemy. They're just arrogant pricks with a bigger fortress who want to fight this war alone. Damn fortress pancaked Boston.

Lourdes looked like ****. Looked like the early stages of Gollum.

Funny how Maggie suggested a quick death for Lourdes after she almost confessed her love for Hal. Then she puts 2 into Karen who was also wooing Hal in her last moments. That hot girl from the dream episode better not be real and pop up later down the road. Maggie has made it clear. Hal is hers. lol

They tried that in the 1st season finale I believe. In the 2nd season premiere we saw that it was a complete bust.

The half breed miracle child on there also aged rapidly. Was a grown ass woman within the first 3 episodes of the horrible tv series that soon followed.

Even nukes? Hard to imagine it can be taken out by what appears to be such a small energy weapon but not a nuclear warhead (or two).

I did find it a bit... cliché (?) that the humans are somehow exceptionally different from all the other aliens the Volm have met.

I enjoyed the finale. Felt like it very much could've served as a series finale, if need be.

I like where the writers took the Volm. Not as altruistic as Cochise would have us believe, but also different from the Overlords. Basically, they are the opposite. Overlords want destruction, Volm want control. Humans are caught in the middle of the two extremes, order and chaos. It opens interesting doors for next season.

I personally loved the way that Tom offed Karen also.

Well, you have silos, mobile launchers, jets... submarines, I mean, you're not going to trip over them if you're a civilian (unless you know where to go), but if you have military in your ranks, they certainly wouldn't be that hard to come by. America alone has over a thousand primed for... blowing **** up.

Would have been pretty cool to see a ballistic submarine show up.

Obviously, detonating a nuke in Boston is bad, but if the whole planet is about to be wiped out, one nuke over an already ruined, abandoned city, is a tiny price to pay (if it's really one at all, since it's ruined and abandoned).

I assume you mean the Mother of All Bombs when you say thermobaric, because thermobaric bombs come in a whole range of sizes. If a mere thermobaric bomb could take it out (even the before mentioned MOAB), then they wouldn't even have to use a particularly high yield nuclear warhead (i.e. fallout wouldn't be much of an issue).

The MOAB is impressive in its own right, but it's a firecracker next to even the weakest nuclear weapon.

Them being able to shut down electricity makes it tricky, but not impossible. Plus, they can only shut down what they see, right?

Then this ep started with them right in the midst of the attack and having a train and a cargo freighter, where did they get them from?

I loved how Tom took Karen out, she's had it coming, but damn does Maggie want to make sure everyone knows Hal is her Man!

I'm glad miracle-grow Alexis was able to suck those nasty bugs out of poor Lourdes head.

They really nailed it with Alexis as far as her looking like Moon they look so closely related. I wonder if that is really her kid or not.

They've done well with alot of the family casting. Drew Roy's mannerisms on the show are a lot like Wylie's and even looks a bit like him, and the two younger sons look like they could actually be related.

I love/hate this show. I am often disappointed that the writing and ideas are not deeper and thought out, and there are too many cliches in general but I am interested in the characters and the cast is great from top to bottom.

The finale was interesting if only because they zigged where most shows would have zagged. The "fish heads" are given a terrible blow in the first 20min. Then, oh no the Vohlm are bad guys! Wait, they are good more or less but it's more complicated than we knew of beforehand. Then a confrontation with Karen and a satisfying firefight that puts a capstone on that story only to now have further complications and mysteries put in our protagonists path. I can say for certain that I will watch next summer and hope that things get better on all fronts in the writing departments. They have set things up for what could be an interesting season. Here's hoping.

Maggie killing Karen was to draw a riff between her and Hal. Making her more cold. If you look at the ending Hal was more distant to her question her actions more.

Hal was talking of settling down with kids, Maggie had no desire for that (she even said as much wanting to keep on fighting even after this was over) and shooting Karen was just the exclamation point to show it.

No I say this because when talking about how to deal with Lourdes you can see how Hal was a bit put off with how cold she sounded and when wanting to be there for Karen as she died free form the control of harness you can see he was also put off and a little upset on how she handled that.

My wife and I thought the same thing. It was so jarring that we spent like 10 minutes of the intro trying to figure out how they got the weapon out, found a train and a cargo freighter. Jeebus, that was a crazy jump in time in just one episode.

Maggie was crazy scary when she shot Karen. This is definitely trying to put a rift between her and Hal.

Alexis is still creepy as an older girl. I loved the look on Tom's face when she was hugging him. It was pretty cool how she killed the eye worms.

Why are all these alien-human female hybrids so powerful and creepy. First in V, then in The 4400. I know there have been others but I can't think of them right now.

I think you are right, they'll want to keep some young romance on the show but Maggie I think can stand as a character purely as a warrior. I can see a split with Hal and something developing with him and Lourdes.

The pacing of the entire finale felt like they'd filmed a 2 part finale and then had to cut chunks as TNT decided to go with the standard 42 minutes.
