Stupid People Doing Stupid Things Thread - Part 1

I only read what she said from your post, I agree with her, it could have been stuff more dangerous that weed and I also agree with her what if her kids has eaten it ?
Of course she had to tweet about it, give interviews and makes a mini drama about it but that's the American way ( not offense meant by that, to each its own ).

The stupid is the manager for caring her bag O'weed with her at work.

"Are they incredibly stupid?"
=> this thread is full of smart dumb people :)

General Motors on Tuesday reported its best June sales since 2007, even as the company reels from millions of recalls.

They have recalled another 8.4 million cars and people are still buying them? And in record numbers? I can only classify this as a massive number of stupid people doing an even stupider thing by supporting a manufacturer who deliberately allowed untold millions of dangerous vehicles loose on the road for a decade resulting in the deaths of more than a dozen people officially and unofficially the death or injury of likely hundreds, possibly even thousands.

Sales last month rose 1% compared to a year earlier, surprising analysts who had expected a drop.

"June was the third very strong month in a row for GM (GM), with every brand up," said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of Sales Operations. "In fact, the first half of the year was our best retail sales performance since 2008, driven by an outstanding second quarter."

GM said Buick had its best June since 2006. Deliveries were up 18 percent, compared to the same period last year, driven by an 82% increase in sales of the Encore, its small crossover SUV. Buick also saw a 33% increase for its LaCrosse sedan and a 26% increase for the Regal.

"I'm pleased with the numbers across the board. I was looking for GM's June sales to be down 5 or 6%," said George Magliano, auto economist at IHS Global Insight.

General Motors has come under criticism for a decade-long delay in publicly revealing an ignition switch flaw that resulted in at least 13 deaths and numerous injuries. The company retained attorney Ken Feinberg to develop a victim compensation plan, which he outlined Monday.

The automaker has been aggressively pursuing quality issues in its vehicles. On Monday, GM announced that is was recalling 8.4 million vehicles. That latest recalls means the automaker has, in just half a year, recalled nearly as many vehicles as the single-year record for all automakers.

The sum of vehicles recalled Monday amounts to the company's largest single day of recalls this year. In addition to ignition switch recalls, the automaker is recalling vehicles for faulty wiring and fasteners.

My dad was going to by a used Chevy SUV and I finally talked him out of it. Even with all the recalls and deaths, there are many Americans who are very loyal to Chevy just like many are very loyal to Ford. They will keep buying them come hell or high water or in this case flaming death.

I suppose that is why people keep electing the same politicians who keep on lying and committing crimes without fear of reprisal.

Mother Admits to Poisoning Her Children With Visine

792890673165156269.jpg

Police in Gettysburg, Penn. arrested Samantha Elizabeth Unger, 23, after she confessed to having put bottles of Visine in her three-year-old son's drinks. Her son had to be airlifted to a hospital earlier this year after his heartbeat dropped to 40 beats per minute. Unger's one-year-old son also became sick after drinking from the three-year-old's poisoned cups.

According to the Hanover Evening Sun, doctors began to suspect that the children were being poisoned after both had been brought to the hospital multiple times in the same month:

Both children fell ill multiple times in March and the eldest had to be flown to the hospital March 21, according to court documents. Doctors at Hershey Medical Center told police that they believed the children were being poisoned after conducting several tests, the documents stated.

Investigators conducted interviews with the family and confiscated water bottles and sippy cups that they believed were making the children ill. Lab results showed that Tetrahydrozoline, better known as Visine, was present in the 3-year-old's urine sample that was taken at the hospital, according to the affidavit.

The Patriot-News reports that doctors informed police that Unger's three-year-old had enough Tetrahydrozoline in his system that it "created a substantial risk of death." Unger apparently told police that she would put more than one bottle of Visine in her son's drinks, but never kept track of exactly how much.

The mother is currently being held on charges of aggravated assault of children and endangering the welfare of children.

Some people are literally insane

I suppose that is why people keep electing the same politicians who keep on lying and committing crimes without fear of reprisal.

That and sometimes it's a case of the Devil You Know. They'd rather take the awful politician they know than risk electing someone they don't know. Their minds come up with all kinds of crazy **** that the unknown politician might be capable of.

Man Clutches to Trunk of Car Speeding Down Interstate Highway

792675540577875633.png

Recently, a man took a leisurely ride on North Carolina's Interstate 77, not in his car, but outside someone else's.

[YT]-UlJzrX4i5o[/YT]

Brenda Cruz, who was driving behind the white Oldsmobile Alero to which the man desperately, incredibly clutched, shot the above footage with her cell phone. Police identified the suspect but have not released his name publicly.

If only the story behind the stunt were as zany as the outcome. From WSOC:

Officers said the incident started as a domestic dispute when the woman's boyfriend, "assaulted her by grabbing her arm and pulling her onto the ground" during an argument, according to a CMPD report.

...

A witness, who did not want to talk on camera, said she was there Saturday and saw the woman abandon her car in the intersection, then run to the Payless Shoe Store, begging for help. The witness said she saw the man later walk away and the woman drove off.

Twenty minutes later, the woman's white Alero was going up to 55 mph on I-77 northbound near exit 7. 911 dispatchers could not believe what drivers were seeing.

Witnesses said the mystery man then shattered the car's rear windshield and climbed inside, where there were two child passengers, and the woman driving eventually pulled over. No one was hurt, and the driver told police she's not interested in pressing charges.

It's a shame that people can be this crazy and yet their significant other won't press charges

Good Guys Celebrate New Georgia Gun Law By Almost Shooting Each Other

793862894240730406.jpg

Two legally armed Georgia men made good use of the state's open-carry law on its first day of implementation by starting a gun-rights pissing match in a convenience store, challenging each other's authority, and occasioning a drawdown and an arrest.

"Essentially, it involved one customer with a gun on his hip when a second customer entered with a gun on his hip," Police Chief Brian Childress told the Valdosta Daily Times:

A man carrying a holstered firearm entered the store to make a purchase. Another customer, also with a holstered firearm, approached him and demanded to see his identification and firearms license, according to the Valdosta Police Department report.

The customer making demands for ID pulled his firearm from its holster but never pointed it at the other customer, who said he was not obligated to show any permits or identification.

He demanded the man's ID again. Undeterred by the drawn gun, the man paid for his items, left the store and called for police.

On arriving, cops arrested the more standy-groundy of the two Second Amendment Men, pointing out that under the new law no one—not the cops, and certainly not a random good guy with a gun—can demand proof of licensing from any other armed citizen.

Of course, no one could have foreseen these sorts of complications arising out of the expansion of gun-carry laws. No one. At all.

Drunk Driver Leads Cops on High Speed Chase to Her Preferred Jail

793831714483910801.png

Luz Avilla, 34, of Chickasha, Okla., led cops on a high speed chase this week because she wanted to be booked into a certain jail. The accommodations in Caddo County are preferable to those in Grady County, apparently.

Shannon McClain of the Chickasha Police told News 9, "Apparently the driver did not want to go to jail in Grady County. She wanted to go to jail in Caddo County was her explanation as to why she did not pull over." Avilla, who was allegedly drunk, hit 100 miles per hour trying to cross the county line, but unfortunately, she didn't make it.

She's been charged with a DUI and evading the police.

http://www.news9.com/story/25910868/caught-on-camera-chickasha-police-chase-suspect

What an idiot haha. It's even funnier that she now has an extra charge that I do believe is a felony and still didn't make it to the county lockup of her choice.

Americans Claim to Hate the Fast Food Chains They Love

793758573782802574.jpg

Americans spend close to $2 billion a day dining out, and most of that money ain't being spent at The Four Seasons, if you know what we mean. (It is being spent on cheap garbage food.) Heartbreakingly, Americans now say they loathe the fast food chains to which they've pledged their lives.

"I hate Mcdonald's, KFC, and Taco Bell," you, the consumer, told Consumer Reports in their new survey of consumer food preferences. Those words were hard to understand, because you, the consumer, had countless Big Macs, chicken strips, and bean burritos stuffed into your mouth as you spoke. America's obvious affinity for cheap, bad burgers, chicken, and tacos makes their disloyalty to those who make their inexpensive poisoning possible all the more shocking.

-Consumers ranked McDonald's burgers last out of 20 burger chains.

-Consumers ranked KFC's chicken last out of eight chicken chains.

-Consumers ranked Taco Bell's last out of eight Mexican food chains.

Your mouths say "We hate you." But all I hear is "Wwwhhkdlmmmghddhhggg" (cause your mouth fulla chicken).

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...st-fast-food-restaurants-in-america/index.htm

That really is something to behold and goes along with all the food threads we have had lately. I tend to make meals at home for the most part but I go to Taco Bell on occasion. I know the food isn't the best but I wouldn't say I hate it. Americans need to embrace their fat, cheap habits and be honest with themselves. That's the only way they will ever move towards making a change

Soccer Referee Dies After Being Punched in Head by Player

hjjnfyoq2qq7ek2ped7o.jpg

John Bieniewicz, 44, of Westland, Mich. died today from injuries he sustained after being punched in the head by a player in the soccer match he was refereeing this past weekend. Bassel Abdul-Amir Saad apparently punched Bieniewicz after he ruled to eject Saad from the game. When police arrived at the scene, Bieniewicz was unconscious and not breathing.

A witness told the Detroit Free Press that Saad punched Bieniewicz when he wasn't looking:

Scott Herkes, 39, was playing in the adult soccer match Sunday and said he was about 30 yards away when he saw the referee punched by a player on the opposing team.

"It was terrifying," he said.

He said it happened as Bieniewicz, who had stopped the game to eject Saad, was looking down, and he didn't see the punch coming.

According to the Associated Press, Saad was not at the park where the soccer game was held (and where he punched Bieniewicz) by the time police were at the scene. Saad turned himself in Monday. His lawyer, Brian Berry told the Detroit Free Press by email that Saad maintains his innocence.

"Based on certain witness statements that have not yet been published, it is believed that the facts of this case have been mischaracterized," Berry wrote. "Mr. Saad is presumed innocent unless and until a fact finder determines differently. As tragic as this event is, we must keep open minds and listen and wait for all the facts of this case to unfold."

Bieniewicz was a dialysis technician at Mott Children's Hospital with a wife and two sons. He had refereed soccer games for two decades.

http://www.freep.com/article/20140701/NEWS02/307010110/

Yes because all innocent people run away. :o There are plenty of witnesses to this idiot acting like a petulant child when he couldn't keep playing his game. A punch you don't see coming can have devastating effects and I hope this guy goes down for a long time for this

Waitress Fired After Complaining About a Facebook Friend's Crappy Tip

p4p0o9jgxhcbrodvesgk.jpg

An Ohio mom lost her waitressing job after she used Facebook to blow off some steam about a busy night full of bad tippers, not realizing she was fake Internet friends with one of the cheapskates in question.

The customer, a "former schoolmate" of waitress Kristen Kelly, printed out the Facebook post and brought it to Kelly's manager at the Texas Roadhouse in Findlay, Ohio.

"They told me that I knew what I was doing when I posted that, and they would have to let me go," Kelly, 22, told Toledo's WTOL 11, "They were really upset.'

According to the waitress, she made the post after a Friday night shift where several customers left tips of 10 percent or less on large checks. "If you come into a restaurant and spend $50 or more, you should be able to tip appropriately for that," she says she wrote.

The Texas Roadhouse claims there was more to the post, and that Kelly was fired for calling the customer "a derogatory name" and for referring to the restaurant on social media, which is against company policy.

In other news, when you post something on Facebook, people can read it. This could be as much of a game-changer as the revelation that Twitter is public.

http://www.toledonewsnow.com/story/...ed-for-facebook-post-about-tipping?hpt=us_bn9

For this I tend to believe the company when they say there was more to the post but they are still stupid for firing here when she was obviously just blowing off steam, it's not like she tagged the restaurant or they have any control over her tips. But it's also stupid on the her part for putting it out on blast to Facebook world. While I think she should be able to post what she wants it behooves everyone to remember who exactly can see what they are posting before they post it.

On the first freaking day. Wow, that's all I can really say.
Shocking that this didn't involve anyone pulling the trigger. And I'm not joking. This is the kind of **** the extreme gun nuts want to have happen on a daily basis. Not one of them has considered this kind of situation and now Georgia gets to show us what "good guys with guns" do when they confront "that other guy" with a gun.

I shortly expect to hear about a rise in gunshot deaths from "accidental" shootings because one good guy with a gun shot another good guy with a gun thinking he was a bad guy with a gun.

This is skewed by the people who genuinely hate it being offset by those who either love it or are indifferent and make up for the people who truly are done with these chains.

I had McDonald's the other day since they were doing a buy one get one for a dollar on Big Macs and it still was not worth it. Prior to that I've abstained from McDonald's for a few years.

I have not been to a KFC in years. I've quit Burger King, not that I ever frequented it. Their smoke flavoring always gives me heart burn and their food isn't good anyways. I only rarely go to Taco Bell when I feel like punishing myself.

The only fast food chains I go to are Wendy's, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and occasionally Sonic, although mostly for drinks, not food. There is also a better local taco chain here I go to because they use real meat in their tacos.

I do like What-A-Burger but that's way too far out of the way to get except when I'm in a town with them.

UPDATE: Tween Girl Accused in Slender Man Stabbing Found Mentally Incompetent

s0gcsmy1qlyoprcxhsho.png

One of the two 12-year-old girls accused of stabbing another girl 19 times to please the mythological creature Slender Man has been found mentally incompetent. Both suspects appeared in court today, "wearing shackles and blue jail jumpsuits as their parents looked on somberly," according to NBC News.

The judge has ordered more testing and a hearing following the disclosure. NBC News reports that "neither girl made eye contact with relatives sitting in the spectator seats" during today's hearing.

The stabbing occurred on May 31st in Wisconsin, and the victim has since been released from the hospital. When the girls were first questioned about the incident, one of them told a detective they learned about Slender Man on the Creepy Pasta Wiki and that they were trying to please Slender Man with the attack. They each face 60 years in jail if they're found guilty.

Since the attack, a different 13-year-old girl allegedly attacked her mother with a kitchen knife because she was influenced by Slender Man. She is facing charges as a juvenile.

Not sure how I feel on this one yet, I'm leaning towards they know what they did and should face the penalty though

At their age I'm not sure they really knew. They might have known in an abstract way but to fully understand it I'm not sure.

Lindsay Lohan Is Suing the Makers of Grand Theft Auto

The actress best known for her controversy-filled personal and professional lives has claimed before that Rockstar Games based a character in Grand Theft Auto V on her, without permission. And now she's suing them.

According to an AP report on Yahoo! Finance, Lohan's lawsuit claims that GTA V character Lacey Jonas is based on her, in likeness and personal details. The suit has been filed today in Manhattan, where Rockstar Games' corporate headquarters are located. We've reached out to Rockstar Games for comment and will update this post if they respond.

This is the definition of a frivolous lawsuit. Satire is a protected form of free speech and I'm sure the guys at Rockstar put the standard disclaimer that everything is fictional and any resemblance to any persons live or dead is purely coincidental that is standard in most fictitious works these days. I'm sure this is just a PR stunt to try and get her name out there since there is no way in hell any rational lawyer would ever advise someone that they could win this case

A Knife-Wielding Homeless Man Threatened to Kill Michael Strahan

bozejofy3oqekualzwtp.jpg

What do you think of when you think of Michael Strahan? Hmm. Football legend? Charming, attractive co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael who provides the sexual tension necessary to keep the top-of-the-show smalltalk interesting? Man you want to stab? Which one?

According to the New York Post, a knife-wielding homeless man was arrested outside of ABC Studios in Times Square yesterday after threatening to "kill Michael Strahan" in an argument with a security guard. From Page Six:

Andre Johnson, 25, pulled the knife and made threatening remarks about Strahan, the New York Giants football legend and part-time co-host of "Good Morning America," during an argument with a security guard near the show's sidewalk-side set at around 8 a.m., according to the sources.

A police officer working security detail for the network quickly intervened and knocked the blade from Johnson's hand.

He was detained by police and, when questioned, restated: "I was there to kill Michael Strahan." (Though, he did not give a reason. Too charming, maybe? Doesn't like when he sweetly pulls out Kelly's chair for her every morning? I don't know. Suits too well-fitted?) A spokesperson for ABC News spoke to the Post about the situation, saying that the police officer "heroically tackled" Johnson, and that most of the surrounding audience wasn't even aware of his threat:

"It was a scary situation but thanks to the fast actions of NYPD the situation was quickly under control."

Johnson was charged with "attempted assault as a felony, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon" and, due to a number of out-of-state warrants, will likely be held without bail.

http://pagesix.com/2014/07/01/knife-wielding-bum-wanted-to-kill-michael-strahan/

Mental illness has to be at play here, no way any rational person (even if they had wanted to kill him) would think that going down to the show with a knife was the most efficient way of going about it. Hopefully the guy gets the help he needs

UPDATE: Nanny From Hell Has a List of Demands for the Family She's Terrorizing

793885415467888561.jpg

Diane Stretton, the "monster nanny" who has become a family's worst nightmare by refusing to move out of their house after being fired a month ago, has finally agreed to vacate the premises by July 6. That is, as long as the Bracamonte family meets her list of demands.

The live-in nanny's handwritten "agreement" requires the Bracamontes to leave their Upland, California, home between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., whether Stretton is in the house or not. It also asks them to give her money for food and access to amenities including TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.

Here's her full list of six conditions, as published by the Daily Mail:

793885415630621105.jpg

"Agreement: I will voluntarily agree to leave by 6pm on 7/6/14 if each and all of the following conditions are met:

1. My WiFi and TV and house air conditioning and water must be continuously on until I vacate. Electricity in my room must be operational.

2. Bathrooms must be stocked up with TP (toilet paper) and hand soap at all times.

3. Marcella and kids must vacate the premises between the hours of 8am and 5pm until 7/6/14 whether I elect to leave during the day or not.

4. Between the hours of 5pm and 8am, I have full access to my room, the garage bathroom and the areas of the house between the front door and my bedroom. I will not linger in these areas.

5. I'm either given access to healthy food or given $200 to eat out. Said access to food shall be limited to hours between 8am and 5pm."

6. Neither the front door nor my bedroom shall be locked in a manner than prevents me from entering. This means the chain must be off and the locks cannot be changed.

In exchanged [sic] for the above, I will agree not to seek any of my legal remedies for your past violations of our agreement."

It's not known whether the Bracamontes have actually agreed to her terms.

The family has considered evicting Stretton, 64, who does not pay rent, but they're worried they could face a fine of $1,000 for interfering with a tenant. Police have told them it's a civil matter, which is bad news for the family, as Stretton has a history of lawsuits so long that the state of California considers her a "vexatious litigant."

The Bracamontes are leaving for a family wedding in Mexico this week, and are worried Stretton will lock them out, so they've asked family members to keep an eye on the house.

In an interview with KTLA Tuesday, Stretton called Marcella Bracamonte a "drama queen," and claimed the family cut off her cable, AC, and Internet access after they fired her, and then tried to feed her dog food.

Stretton has been out of the home for the past few days, and was found living in her car outside a police station Friday.

Man, **** her. If they could get her out of the house long enough to change the locks and put her stuff outside think they could get away with it?

Sadly the crazy nanny is legally a resident of the home so you can't just change the locks and put her crap outside. You have to go through the eviction process which can take up to 30 days. Nothing says you can't make her life a living hell though

I'm pretty sure they've been trying the eviction process for months now.
