I cannot fathom what someone could possibly be doing in Walmart for 13 hours.
Probably trying to find that special three copies of Timecop for $18 deal.
I cannot fathom what someone could possibly be doing in Walmart for 13 hours.
I have neighbor who lives a street over, and he lights up those rocket like fireworks that burst in the air. I am waiting for the inevitable day when he lights either himself, or his house on fire.
I was going for "catch a tiger (shark) by the tail" kind of thing but no one caught it.It was the decidedly less scary (and more adorable) horn shark. I'm in California right now.![]()
Cops and prosecutors in Manassas City, Va. have gone insane trying to prosecute a 17-year-old boy for sexting his 15-year-old girlfriend. According to a report from The Washington Post, they want to force the boy to become erect, take photos of his penis, and compare those photos to his original sexts.
The boy has been charged with manufacturing and distributing child pornography. According to the boy's lawyer, Jessica Foster, the assistant Commonwealth attorney told her prosecutors would get the photos this way: "We just take him down to the hospital, give him a shot [to make him erect], and then take the pictures that we need." Sure, sounds reasonable. Foster asked the detective on the case what they would do with the photos, and he said they would "use special software to compare pictures of this penis to this penis." Foster told the Post, "Who does this? It's just crazy."
This isn't even the first time cops have tried this tack. According to NBC Washington, the case began in January when the boy was first arrested. His aunt said that when he was taken into custody:
They took him to a room and took pictures of his genitalia. I asked if they're allowed to do that, and [the boy] said, "I tried to refuse," which he did, he didn't want to do it. They told him if he did not they would do it by force.
The cops were first tipped off to the case by the girlfriend's mother. Allegedly the girl, who has not been charged, sent the boy explicit photos. He then sent her an explicit video.
Now, Foster says her goal is to stop a search warrant to obtain more photos of the boy. "I don't want him to go through that. Taking him down to the hospital so he can get an erection in front of all those cops, that's traumatizing," she told the Post. If the boy is found guilty, he could be forced to register as a sex offender and serve jail time until he's 21.
The boy's guardian at litem in the case, Carlos Flores Laboy, thinks taking the photos is illegal. "They're using a statute that was designed to protect children from being exploited in a sexual manner to take a picture of this young man in a sexually explicit manner. The irony is incredible."
This is most definitely an abuse of power but it is so insanely stupid I had to post it here. I hope he gets a good lawyer and sues the crap out of this idiots
Camping? Or pretty much just living there. There's a "homeless" guy who sits in the Walmart near me all day, every day.I cannot fathom what someone could possibly be doing in Walmart for 13 hours.
http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/5568058?utm_hp_ref=twIn a condemnatory speech last week against the Obama administrations new Environmental Protection Agency carbon emission regulations, Kentucky state Sen. Brandon Smith (R) claimed that man-made climate change is scientifically implausible because Mars and Earth share exactly the same temperature.
Smith, the owner of a mining company called Mohawk Energy, argued that despite the fact that the red planet doesnt have any coal mines, Mars and Earth share a temperature. Therefore, Smith reasoned, coal companies on Earth should be exempt from emission regulations.
During a Natural Resources and Environment Committee meeting Thursday, Smith, the Senate majority whip, said:
"As you [Energy & Environment Cabinet official] sit there in your chair with your data, we sit up here in ours with our data and our constituents and stuff behind us. I wont get into the debate about climate change but Ill simply point out that I think in academia we all agree that the temperature on Mars is exactly as it is here. Nobody will dispute that. Yet there are no coal mines on Mars. Theres no factories on Mars that Im aware of."
According to NASA, the average temperature on Earth is 57 degrees Fahrenheit -- 138 degrees above Mars' average of -81 degrees.
Are we neighbors and we don't know it charl? I was going to post the same thing lol…the same person is the one neighbor who shoots guns on New Year's…
…I always enjoy your input btw…
According to the Hernando County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Logan Brown (left, trying not to laugh) and 20-year-old Christopher Ramos smoked some weed last week and "decided to go on an adventure."
At around midnight on July 3, with Ramos in fatigues and a fishing hat and Brown in all black, they allegedly broke into a K-8 school in Spring Hill, Fla. Surveillance footage shows the two wandering through the halls and trying to open classroom doors.

And what luck! Police say the first open room the pair found contained stoner treasure beyond imagining: Froot Loops! They're being charged with burglary for allegedly stealing the cereal, which is allegedly a great thing to eat when you're high.
Although it wouldn't be fair to stereotype these suspected adventurers, I imagine the the prosecutor's case will consist of silently holding up their mugshots until the judge says, "You've made your point."
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.
A Florida teacher accused of twerking and drinking alcohol at a soccer team party has been suspended.
The Duval County School Board voted July 1 to suspend Courtney Spruill without pay. She works at Kernan Middle School as a soccer team coach and PE/Health teacher, according to district documents obtained by WTEV-TV Jacksonville.
The investigation came to light when a student approached a softball coach about a party for the soccer team.
The party reportedly took place at the parent's house of one of the players in May.
The student, according to the investigative report, claimed the coach was drinking alcohol and twerking on players. The district investigation made note of twerking as a form of dirty dancing.
The district also reviewed cellphone video of Spruill getting a lap dance from a student at the party.
The woman who owned the home told school investigators that Spruill brought vodka to the house as a gift but didn't drink any of it. She instead drank soda, the homeowner said.
District investigators said Spruill showed "the gross exercise of poor judgment," according to documents.
Thomas Rica, a former public works inspector for the city of Ridgewood, NJ, was sentenced to five years probation after he stole $460,000 worth of quarters taken from parking meters. He stole the quarters over the course of two years from a storage room, and pled guilty to four counts of theft as part of a plea deal.
"I am sorry for what I have done," Rica told Judge Patrick Roma. "I am very sorry. I'm...I'm just sorry." As part of his plea deal, Rica will only have to pay back part of what he stole (his lawyer came with a check for $64,337.55 today, his down payment). From CBS New York:
Under the plea deal, Rica will pay back a little more than half of what he admits he stole. Some critics have said Rica should have received some prison time and paid back all the money he stole, but Bergen County prosecutors have defended the deal given to Rica.
Assistant County Prosecutor Daniel Keitel told the newspaper that the deal took months to negotiate and will "get as much of the money back to the public as quickly as possible." Had the state tried Rica for second-degree theft, Keitel said he may have faced five years behind bars, but would not have been legally bound to return any of the stolen money.
According to the Record, Rica would tamper with the security camera in the storage room holding the coins so that he was never caught on camera lifting the quarters. And by spreading the money he was stealing across multiple bank accounts, Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Daniel Keitel says, he was able to obscure exactly how much he stole.
"It was very difficult to determine the amount of the theft," Keitel admitted, explaining investigators using both bank records and Rica's own admissions "established an exact amount that we think is accurate."
"I am not enthusiastic about an arrangement of this nature," Judge Roma said, "but I understand the details that go into it. A lot of time has gone into this, and five years is a long time to be on probation."
A 14-year-old girl was reportedly raped Tuesday night in a remote village in the Indian state Jharkhand as "revenge" for another alleged rape. According to New Delhi TV, the self-appointed headman of the village ordered the attack, which was allegedly carried out by a 25-year-old man.
The BBC reports that the headman ordered the attack because the teen girl's brother is accused of raping another woman. Jharkhand police chief Rajiv Kumar told the BBC:
This rape happened out of retaliation. The day before, on July 6th, the wife of the accused was the victim of misbehavior on the part of the girl's brother. The head of the village was instrumental in provoking this rape on the victim.
Kumar said he's never heard of a "revenge" rape like this before. New Delhi TV notes that the village headman is feared in the area. He and the alleged rapists in both attacks have been arrested. The girl is recovering in a nearby hospital.
The Indian government has improved sexual violence laws since 2012, when a girl was gang raped and murdered on a Delhi bus. Still, this year there have been at least two reports of young girls being raped as punishment in May, two teen girls were found hanging from a tree after being apparently gang raped, and in January, a 20-year-old girl was gang raped because her village did not like who she was dating.
There's a reason they tell you to keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times.
An unnamed British rider on Disney World's "Pirates of the Caribbean" lost the tips of his right pinky and ring fingers yesterday after holding the outside of the boat, Orlando's News 13 reports.
The man was taken to a local hospital. A fire department spokesman described his injuries as "minor," which seems like an understatement. (Disclaimer: I am not an expert on theme parks or fingertip injuries.)
In any case, let this serve as a warning to anyone silly or child-having enough to visit Disney World in the middle of July: that sweet Caribbean water might look refreshing, but don't dip your hands in.
Teen, mother launch complaint against abstinence-based sex ed
An Edmonton high school student and her mother have filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission over a sex education class delivered by a religious-based group. Last year, Emily Dawson, 18, took part in a two-day class delivered as part of the Career and Life Management course at McNally High School. The teenager says she was shocked by what she heard. Basically shaming the girls and making them gatekeepers and meanwhile making it sound like the boys had no impulse control, she said.
The Edmonton Public School Board used the Pregnancy Care Centre to conduct the course. The centre is affiliated with Care-Net, an American based anti-abortion movement. Both groups focus on advocating abstinence from sex. I have a friend that is a lesbian and she was asking what would happen if she didn't want to stay abstinent and then the educator said, We're not here to talk about that, Dawson said.
Course meets provincial standards
Kathy Dawson says she tried to pull her daughter Emily out of the class for the second day. But she says the school informed her that Emily had to take the class in order to pass her course. So she joined her daughter in the classroom. A single mother, Dawson said she was shocked what students were told about families like hers. Well, that our children are prone to depression, suicide, juvenile delinquency, she said.
The remarks also surprised her daughter. Its not something that you hear every day where youre getting bashed for being in a single-parent home.
Kathy Dawson was also upset the class appeared to focus on values instead of science. "I don't want them in the secular school," she said. "They may have a spot in the Catholic school ... because they are faith-based." My issue isn't with them ... because it's such a wide variety of families going to these (public) schools, let's leave the science to the school and the values to the parents." Dawson started a petition and complained to the school board. Board officials investigated and found the course met the standards set by Alberta Education. Our administration have looked into this in the district and they're confident that students in Edmonton public schools are receiving the sex education set by Alberta Education, said Michael Janz, a trustee and deputy chairman of the board.
So in the absence of new information, I remain supportive.
The Alberta Human Rights Commission has now accepted the Dawsons' complaint. I'm training up my kids to respect science and demand science in their education, Kathy Dawson said. So this is a long haul, and I'm fully prepared to take it all the way."

Because telling teens not to have sex always works. Despite everything in your social life telling you to have sex just don't do it, you don't need to know how it works or why you should use protection or about STDs or anything. Friggin idiots.
That's because, as George Carlin put it, they don't care about you after you're born. The ironic thing is, the Pregnancy Care Centre encourages pregnant girls and women to have the babies instead of aborting and then this woman goes into a classroom and tells the students all about the horrors of single parent homes.
The Dawsons complaints allege the presenter taught students that 60 per cent of boys carry the HPV sexually transmitted infection under their fingernails, that gonorrhea can kill you in three days, that girls should dress modestly to avoid inflaming boys
