Florida Mom Kidnaps Daughter to Avoid Vaccines, Learning Black History

A mother in Sunrise, Florida is now facing a federal criminal charge after disappearing with her two-year-old daughter last month in order to avoid having her vaccinated. (This served the dual purpose of keeping her from being "brainwashed" and keeping her out of school, where she might learn about black history).

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Megan Elizabeth Everett, 22, disappeared on May 6th after Robert Baumann—with whom she shares custody of their daughter, Lilly—dropped Lilly off at her home. Everett was supposed to return Lilly a week later, in compliance with a shared custody agreement, but never showed up. She instead left a note for Baumann, saying:

"You are a great dad. If I let them take her and vaccinate her and brainwash her, I wouldn't be doing what's right. I cannot let a judge tell me how my daughter should be raised. We will miss you. But I had to leave."

A warrant for Everett's arrest was issued on May 19, on charges of kidnapping, interference with custody, and concealing a minor contrary to a court order. The federal charge accused Everett of crossing state lines to avoid prosecution for the state charges.

"In the state of mind my daughter is in, Lily would be better off with Robert," Everett's mom, Pam Everett, said Friday. "I have four kids, and Megan is my baby. I don't know what happened to her." Everett and Lilly had lived with Pam until Everett became involved with a man named Carlos Lesters, at which point she severed ties with her family.

The Sun-Sentinel states that court documents describe Lesters as a "Confederate-flag-waving gun enthusiast with family members in Georgia and Kentucky."

Robert Baumann, who had planned to vaccinate his daughter and enroll her in preschool the next time he had custody, said:

"One of the issues we had was, she wanted to home-school my daughter. I didn't want that to happen. She didn't want Lilly to learn about black history. She just wanted her to learn about the Confederacy." ... "She found this new idea that vaccines are horrible. I think she wanted to keep her from being vaccinated because that would keep her out of day care."

After Lilly's disappearance, Sunrise police went to her last known address, where they found Lesters. He told them that Everett and her daughter were gone and "not coming back." The federal criminal complaint states:

"Lesters informed detectives that Everett … knew she would have to live her life as a fugitive. However, in her mind, the time that she spent with her daughter 'free' of Baumann would be 'worth it,' regardless of how brief the time was."

Everett and Lilly are still missing.

64-Year-Old Man Allegedly Built a Meth Lab in His Retirement Community

It's important that retirees take up some kind of hobby — canasta, golf, making phone calls — to give purpose to their remaining years. 64-year-old Robert Short's alleged hobby? Cooking meth in his retirement community apartment in Fresno, Calif.

According to the AP, Short was arrested after being pulled over for a routine traffic stop on Saturday. Cops found meth in his car, so they went back to Short's apartment in California League-Fresno Village. There they found half a pound of meth, heroin, and the materials you need to build a meth lab.

His neighbors are shocked, as you would be. "It's shocking, I would never guess that anything like that would go on at a senior citizen village," said one to KFSN-TV. Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez was also surprised. "Just shocking someone that age would do that, but actually a perfect place to do it, right? Retirement village, who would suspect it going on there?" he mused.

Short was already on supervised release for previous meth sales when he was arrested.

Toddler Pees in Seat After JetBlue Refuses to Let Her Use Bathroom

A JetBlue flight attendant thwarted the national security risk that is a three-year-old's tiny bladder by refusing to let her use the bathroom while the plane was waiting on the tarmac. Said three-year-old was forced to urinate in her seat, her mother looking on in disbelief.

Jennifer Devereaux flew with her daughter on a JetBlue flight from New York to Boston early last week. After sitting on the tarmac for about 30 minutes, her three-year-old daughter told her that she needed to use the restroom, but when they started to get up to go to the bathroom, a flight attendant stopped them. "She snapped at me, 'No sit down,'" Devereaux told CBS Boston.

Unable to hold it any longer, Devereaux's daughter was forced to urinate in her seat. Devereaux got up to clean up her daughter's mess, to the objection of the same flight attendant, who reported her to the pilot as a "non-compliant passenger."

The pilot proceeded to turn the plane around to return to the gate and hand Devereaux and her daughter over to security, but an off-duty pilot seated near them convinced the staff to let them stay.

After filing a complaint, JetBlue called Devereaux with an apology. "She said 'I am a mom too. I understand what you're going through and I am so sorry this happened to you,'" Devereaux said.

JetBlue also offered Devereaux a $50 credit and $5,000 to the charity of her choice. CBS Boston also reports that JetBlue employees will be undergoing sensitivity training.

There's a difference between a "school shooting" like Newtown and Colombine where someone walks into a school and starts killing children, and gangbangers shooting at each other near a school. Yes, both are terrible, but it's very clear that CNN was purposefully lumping the latter situations in with legitimate school shootings solely due to the emotional implications of the term "school shooting", which I personally think is disgusting for reasons that have nothing to do with personal opinions on gun control.

This could be true, if we are solely looking at what happens to be near the location of a shooting (do we call shootings that happen near grocery stores "grocery shootings" even though the incident is not within the building and no customers were involved?).

When the general public sees "school shooting" they think of a literal school shooting, where, a gunman goes into a school with the intent on killing students. Bloomberg and CNN know this, and purposefully used that terminology, even if the shooting(s) listed had nothing to do with students and was only in the vicinity of a school. That is dishonest reporting and purposeful manipulation of people's emotions to further an agenda. It's a disgusting way to use the tragedy of actual school shootings.

Bad Place to Hide Drugs: Your Stomach Fat Rolls

A 450-lb, 42-year-old American man was arrested this weekend after he allegedly hid drugs in his stomach rolls. Christopher Mitchell was first pulled over with his friend Keithian Roberts in Volusia County, Fla. for not wearing a seatbelt. After the two appeared to act "nervously," cops had a K-9 search the scene.

According to WFTV 9, "the deputy found cocaine, 23 grams of marijuana hidden underneath Mitchell's stomach fat, a handgun, and more than $7,000 cash stuffed into a tube sock." It is not clear how the deputy actually found the weed squished between Mitchell's rolls, but please, everyone, know now that this is not a fail-safe way to hide drugs.

Roberts, who was driving the car, was also arrested on possession charges. Mitchell is known to his friends as "Fat Boy" and occasionally "Biggie," according to the New York Daily News.

KFC Apologizes for Kicking Out a Little Girl Over Her Facial Injuries

KFC has issued a $30,000 apology to the family of a 3-year-old Mississippi girl who was asked to leave one of their restaurants because her scarred face was "disrupting our customers."

The little girl, Victoria Wilcher, suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked by her grandfather's three pit bulls. The dogs have since been put down. Victoria is recovering from broken bones in face, but she was left with visible scars and lost one eye.

Since being kicked out of KFC, Victoria has become self-conscious about her injuries and afraid to look in the mirror.

"When we go to a store, she doesn't even want to get out," her grandmother told WAPT. "She's 3 years old and she's embarrassed about what she looks like. She's embarrassed and I hate it because she shouldn't be. It ain't her fault."

In a statement, KFC apologized for its franchisee's behavior toward the little girl, and agreed to donate $30,000 toward her medical bills, which the family is struggling to pay.

"As soon as we learned of the report on Friday, we immediately began an investigation. This kind of hurtful and disrespectful action would not be tolerated by KFC. Regardless of the outcome of our investigation, we have apologized to Victoria's family and are committed to assisting them. We are making a $30,000 donation to help with her medical bills. The entire KFC family is behind Victoria and her recovery."

Victoria still needs several more surgeries to reconstruct the right side of her face, which remains paralyzed. At the time of the KFC visit, she was on a feeding tube, but her family felt mashed potatoes would be soft enough for her to eat without chewing.

Woman Dies After Puking From Moving Vehicle and Hitting Her Head

Amanda Ezra, a mother of three from Mishawaka, Ind., died yesterday after hitting her head on an unidentified object while vomiting out the front window of a moving minivan. She was 24.

Said Michelle Lyman, a neighbor:

"You've got a 24-year-old child you've raised to be a young adult and has their whole life ahead of them, and it's snuffed out because of a decision that was made and because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Ezra had been drinking, and police believe she was sitting on the driver's lap.

The driver, a man in his 20s, allegedly fled with another passenger after the accident. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, causing serious bodily injury, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Crazy Prepper on the Loose in Florida After Feds Fail to Catch Him

Police and FBI agents are searching this morning for a doomsday prepper who slipped out of their grasp through the woods of Central Florida as they searched his for property for assault weapons and explosives allegedly intended to put a murderous doomsday plan into motion.

Martin "Marty" Winters, 55, fled the FBI agents yesterday morning at his Valrico home outside Tampa, and he couldn't be found. He had been under investigation for nearly a year on suspicion that he had dozens of assault rifles, was training trusted neighbors to make improvised munitions and booby traps, and planned to kill federal agents in preparation for the apocalypse. Via WTSP-TV:

Neighbors say he has been stock-piling weapons, food and other items, preparing for the end of the world.

"He's a prepper. A preparer for the end. Because biblically, the time's right," said Tom, a friend of Winters' who was riding his motorcycle near the home Monday.

Tom says he and others would attend weekly church services held on Winters' porch, where he would quote Bible verses and cite current events suggesting the end of times is near.

Tom, was not the only neighbor who seemed more than a little sympathetic to Winters' eschatological anti-government survivalism, according to a report by local FOX 13 News:

"Marty is a good guy. He has views that are different from other people," said Vincent Bernard, who rents from Winters.

He's a doomsday prepper, according to the FBI, and he leads the "River Otter Preppers."

Officials say they're preparing for an end-of-days event.

"He loves God I know that he reads a lot of Book of Revelations," said Bernard.

But Bay News 9 reported that in addition to illegal possession of explosives and other weapons, Winters had been caught telling a federal agent he intended to use his stockpile:

According to officials, Winters told an undercover agent he had 50 AR-15 rifles buried on his property and other properties. The agent also said Winters told him he wanted to burn his house down and then shoot agents as they arrived to the scene.

Winters also said he had at least 40 men that were willing to participate in his "last stand," officials said.

Winters is still at large and apparently still among equally delusional friends in Valrico. "Any man, an American, anybody has a right to defend their property," his neighbor Tom told WTSP. "Anybody, against invasion. When anarchy kicks in, he doesn't want to expose himself to the gunfire downtown."

The Clintons Support Estate Taxes, Avoid Estate Taxes

America has treated the Clinton family pretty well. They've become millionaires many times over. But a new report says that even as they support policies to tax the estates of the extreme wealthy, they try to avoid those taxes on their own wealth.

There is a thriving industry of tax avoidance strategies for the very rich. These are technically legal, but let's call them what they are: attempts to avoid paying taxes, by the very rich, and to keep more money for themselves, rather than allowing that money go to the public good. It's bad enough when rich heirs and industrialists use these tactics, though of course we expect it. But when a politician who has supported a certain tax structure actively tries to avoid that tax structure, it should make everyone question that politicians morality and honesty.

Bloomberg reports today that the Clinton family is actively using tax strategies designed to minimize their eventual estate taxes. Who cares? Everyone should, since Hillary Clinton, who is running for president, supports estate taxes—but when it comes to her own money, she is trying to keep as much of it as possible. (Bill Clinton also supported estate taxes as president.) It is hypocrisy. Bloomberg reports that the Clintons "split their ownership of the house into separate 50 percent shares, and then placed those shares into trusts," and made tax-exempt gifts, moves designed "to stuff as many assets as possible into the nontaxable portion of the estate."

"The goal is really be thoughtful and try to build up the nontaxable estate, and that's really what this is," [a tax expert] said. "You're creating things that are going to be on the nontaxable side of the balance sheet when they die."

The Clintons could save at least hundreds of thousands of dollars in estate taxes using these techniques.

Yes, they are legal. It hardly matters. It is the spirit of the law that we're talking about. Democrats support estate taxes because they do at least a little to level the playing field and prevent the accumulation of dynastic wealth through many generations. The Clintons are doing whatever they can to accumulate dynastic wealth through many generations. They are hypocrites. It's hard enough taxing the rich as it is. The last thing we need is the people leading the charge refusing to pay their share.

Heritage Foundation Panelists Mock Muslim Student During Benghazi Q&A

On Monday, the Heritage Foundation held a panel to discuss — what else — the September 2012 terrorist attack on U.S. embassy facilities in Benghazi, Libya. When a Muslim law student identified herself as such and asked how the U.S. can fight an "ideological" war against radical Islam with weapons, ACT! America's Brigitte Gabriel responded by comparing Muslims to Nazis.

The Washington Post's Dana Milbank reports from the scene:

[Gabriel] said "180 million to 300 million" Muslims are "dedicated to the destruction of Western civilization." She told [student Saba Ahmed] that the "peaceful majority were irrelevant" in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and she drew a Hitler comparison: "Most Germans were peaceful, yet the Nazis drove the agenda and as a result, 60 million died."

Throughout her rant, Gabriel dismissed peaceful Muslims as "irrelevant" and made scare quotes with her fingers around the word "peaceful" when describing Muslims. She pointed at Ahmed and said, "I'm glad you're here. But where are the other Muslims speaking out?" That got raucous applause from the audience, which made Gabriel laugh.

Later, Gabriel accused Ahmed of taking "the limelight" by being the sole Muslim to ask a question at the panel. She asked Ahmed if she was an American and told her "it is time we take political correctness and throw it in the garbage where it belongs." Gabriel suggested that Ahmed should have brought ten Muslims with her to determine how to hold the government responsible for the four Americans that died in Benghazi. To be clear, no Muslim was invited to sit on the panel at this event.

Ahmed responded, "As a peaceful American Muslim. I would like to think I'm not that irrelevant."

Panel moderator Chris Plante then asked, "Can you tell me who the head of the Muslim peace movement is?" The audience then taunted Ahmed, saying "Yeah, yeah."

Ahmed responded, "I guess it's me right now."

The Saga of The Situation's Jersey Tanning Salon

The Situation—let's not pretend like we don't all remember The Situation—has lived out his manifest destiny and now owns a tanning salon in Middletown, New Jersey. It is a location of the chain Boca Tanning Club, and you'll be shocked to find out that The Situation isn't exactly a model small business owner.

Today, The Situation was arrested for fighting two people inside his tanning salon. If there was a MadLibs for The Situation's life after Jersey Shore, there would only have been one option: The Situation was [arrested] at [his tanning salon] for [simple assault]. He posted $500 bail—simple assault is less a crime in New Jersey and more a way of life—and was released.

This is the second chapter added to the book of Middletown's Boca Tanning Club in this month alone. Last week four employees of the tanning salon filed a police report stating that their paychecks bounced. According to TMZ, each employee was owed only between $100 and $200 dollars. The Situation said that the issue arose after Boca Tanning Club switched payroll companies.

The Situation is a job creator and defender of justice. He is a model American.

Teen Sues School After Being Suspended for Sarcastic Tweet

A high school student was suspended for seven weeks after he sarcastically responded to an anonymous Twitter comment, and now he's suing his school for dragging his reputation through the mud.

The drama started when Reid Sagehorn, now 18, received an anonymous tweet accusing him of "making out" with one of his teachers at Rogers High in Rogers, Minn. The honor student and three-sport athlete jokingly responded, "Yeah, actually."

But the school district took Sagehorn's sarcastic tweet seriously, initially suspending him for 5 days for "damaging a teacher's reputation." As officials investigated the nonexistent student-teacher relationship, the suspension was increased to 10 days, and then nearly two months.

In the suit, which also names a principal and two superintendents as defendants, Sagehorn says the district violated his First and Fourteenth Amendment rights. He's also suing the chief of police, Jeff Beahen, who mistakenly announced that the tweet could lead to felony charges. (It couldn't and didn't.)

Sagehorn, a minor when he posted the tweet, says his name will forever be linked with the term "felony."

Sagehorn says he lost his basketball captainship and his spot on the baseball team, and was forced to change schools as a result of the suspension and surrounding drama. The district says the "door is still open" for the disgraced student to return to Rogers High and finish out his senior year.
