You forgot to mention how watching Jared Leto is the worst thing that has ever happened to you.i glad people are enjoying the movie but even if it beat Avatar's box office it still wont make it a good film. It may give them the chance to correct it and give the characters another chance. as we know money dont equate to quality filmaking

Except, contrary to their name, The Hollywood Reporter didn’t actually report anything about Hollywood. The trade pub quoted an anonymous insider who said “The movie’s got to do $750 million, $800 million to break even. If they get anywhere close to that, they’ll consider it a win.”
That’s not reporting. That’s passing along a throwaway line from someone who could very well being speaking directly out of their *******. Think a less successful Ace Ventura with a bigger coke habit. Who is this insider? What are his or her qualifications? How do they know the movie needs to make three-quarters of a billion dollars just to avoid Warners taking a loss?
Yeah, but it's the Hollywood Reporter not the Enquirer.![]()

How can a movie Need 800 mil just to break even ?
Consider this, if Suicide Squad, whose initial Budget was reported to be 175 mil required even additional 75 mil for reshoots, the combined budget would become 250 mil. No way WB will give them more than that.
The using old rule of thumb, that is,
Two times the budget plus Marketing = Amount needed to break even.
2 X 250 mil + 150 mil (Marketing budget) = 650 mil.
I have assumed higher end costs for everything, still it is nowhere near 800 mil figure that HR is quoting.
And this is Suicide Squad movie, not a Star Wars or LOTR movie, why would it cost so much ?
Yeah, after what happened with BvS, Warner Brothers would have to be actively trying to fail to get a budget that high for this movie.

I can't believe the amount of negativity in the BO prediction thread, let alone the general thread.
After news about SS breaking August record people started saying "Just wait till 2 weekend it'll drop like a rock it's like BvS again Deja Vu!!" Like people aren't allowed to celebrate an amazing OW of SS in the SS thread. Then there're some people just repeating the same chorus over and over and OVER "WB has left money on the table, WB are panic, execs are losing sleep" etc. I can't speak for everyone but personally I want them to straightout say "WB/ DC sucks" then get the hell out of this thread rather than being passive aggressive like that.
What until some negative news pops up and the people who never post on this board will come flying in. Notice how certain posters disappeared after Monday and Tuesday's numbers?
This happened a lot on BvS boards, people that I never knew existed showed up started negativity and soon regular posters were outnumbered, never experienced anything like that.
