I wonder if the high value target is directly connected to the future JL movies in some way. That is if this is all one big story.

It sound like they're using Batman: Assault on Arkham as an inspiration and I like that. It's of my favourite DC animation films.

Nope apparently they're after Enchantress. Those were the early rumours.

More info:

Asked how the movie is going to tell Harley's story, director David Ayer explained: "It's about her breaking free of The Joker and becoming this fully actualised, independent person. That really is a metaphor for everyone's journey here." Based on comments from star Will Smith, that could involve Deadshot and Harley hooking up. "Harley is the biggest troublemaker, but Deadshot's actually eyeballing her a little bit. There's a pretty ragged romantic triangle there."

Smith went on to talk more about where Deadshot is when we first meet him in Suicide Squad, and much of what he says links up to both the rumours and set photos from the past year or so. "As the movie opens, he has a really big career score," the actor reveals. "He's looking to turn over a new leaf with his daughter after the hit, but it goes wrong. It goes terribly, terribly wrong. And it lands him in Belle Reve for life."

I always liked Deadshot and Rick Flag as characters in the old Ostrander run. He hit the right beats for the character work they received.

Batman wrong?

Loving all these Suicide Squad goodies:hmr:
Do we know when this issue will be released?

Tattooed man still hasn't been seen apart from some set pics
I wanna know his deal

And this is the first piece of information about this movie that I don't like. When I think of Joker, automatically Harley comes to mind and vice versa. Did Assault on Arkham started this Deadshot/Harley bs ? :barf:

New 52

Probably just want the most popular protagonist in the film to be able to stand on her own.

Nope its in the newer suicide squad comics which assault on arkham took cues from
Harley should be independent from the Joker its not a bad thing

The early New 52 Suicide Harley wasn't exactly met with welcomed arms if I remember. Why should Harley be independent from the Joker right away? They are the most well known and popular couple in DC and arguably comics.

Agreed. Hated the Deadshot Harley thing in New 52 and Arkham. Makes Deadshot look like a moron when they try to play him more on the lines of an antihero.

Hopefully it plays better here.

Isn't that like, the whole point of the concept of Suicide Squad? Casting villains as antiheroes?

No ****. Who's arguing that? Doesn't change the fact it's made Deadshot look like a moron for hooking up or being interested in Harley.

Well, I mean... would you turn her down?

How does that make Deadshot a moron? For being human? Even Batman hooks up.

Of course not haha...but I would likely pay the consequence and be aware of that.

It makes him an idiot for getting involved with someone who is insane and will most certainly betray him for someone else with a completely other agenda in mind. When he's being portrayed as the more level headed as the group, yeah it looks like a dumb decision.

"Hooking up" and "falling in love" are not always synonymous.

But honestly, I doubt any feelings will lead to anything much.
I mean, it's Harley and Deadshot.
Even if he feels sympathetic toward her for being in a bad relationship and finds her interesting, I can't imagine it being a "thing" at least past the movie's story.

It looked more like Lawton was brought in by the authorities in the BTS pics from early on, though who knows if Bats had a behind the scenes hand?
