Strange how they didn't simply premiere this with Star Wars. Only a 4 week difference, but you would've reached a far wider audience.

It's their stage in January. They don't have to share the spotlight.

Plus they've got the next big thing which is Batman v Superman.

The guys getting ready

I'm basically onboard with the Joker aesthetic at this point. Looking forward to seeing more of his performance.

If the description is true, all the Joker stuff sounds on-point.

I don't think I'm going to end up loving his aesthetics any time soon but I accept it and the characterization has been on point so far. No complaints. This is the Joker. Interested to see how his run in with Batman plays out in this film. Hope it's a reunion since Todd's or whatever Robin's death.

Were there rumours about what the Joker is doing in the trailer? If so, what are they?

Well the trailer description says there is a shot of the Joker jumping into a vat of chemicals. Doesn't specify if this is his original bath or a subsequent one.

If it's after, and the chemicals bleach one's skin, who knows? Maybe they take a page out of Morrison's book and have the character "rebirth" himself.

Either way, I've made peace with it. It's a different spin, but is still clearly the Joker. Can't begrudge Ayer for wanting to change things up.

I ultimately assumed such scenes would be flashbacks and if not, definitely after as you've said.

Especially if they involve Harley.

And yea, I've made peace with the style choice too. I don't need to love it to enjoy his performance anyways. And of course, the Joker is still very much The Joker which is all I'm asking for.

Thanks.
Could be similar to Zero Year where he lets himself fall into the chemicals on purpose to "evolve" and become the Joker.

I should add that I have no problems with this take either and I am really looking forward to it, even more so than anything in BvS.

I love the metal teeth now, truth be told.

As is the case with most, the only aspect I'd do without is the "Damaged" tat, but I'm waiting to see how distracting it is in the context of a live scene. If it ends up being unnoticeable, it's a non-issue.

I think the grills are worse than the tats, and the tats are hideous as it is. And if he didn't have those things, this Joker would look so awesome.

Oh well....

All I like of his look so far is his flashy style of wardrobe and the neon green hair.

I like his hair, the skin color and his eyes. They look crazy scary.

But then he opens his mouth, and I'm all :barf:

But at least its Leto. He's a ridiculously good actor. So I'm looking forward to his performance.

His eyes and skin make for a pleasantly disconcerting ensemble. I've accepted everything else as I've said before. I can still recognize the Joker. And there's no doubt Leto is going to please with his performance. I can't wait to see more of him in the new trailer. I love his mannerisms so much.

It's so strange to know Gosling was practically handed the part before utterly rejecting it due to the franchise deal. That would've been an intriguing choice, though ultimately I think we got the more appropriate actor.

Who knows, maybe if someone else took the part instead of Heath we'd be laughing at how we dodged the bullet from that "Brokeback" dude.

Gosling ain't crying he got himself the lead role in the Blade Runner sequel after that.

I had more of a problem with Heath's design than Jared. But maybe I'm more accepting because Heath was so good it made me forget my initial hatred of his design.

Maybe for this movie and universe his look fits it perfectly.

The tats were never much of a problem. Only the forehead tat really bothered me. The teeth I can accept if he truly got em knocked out.

Can't wait for the trailer, hope the description is all true!

Kevin Smith is becoming quite the spokesman for DC now.

Looking forward to the new trailer tho.
