which is what BVS failed to do SS shows you can be dark and edgy while still having fun with moments of levity

Not every film should have levity. BvS had problems. A lack of levity and unnecessary humor wasn't one of its problems.

I love how the trailer starts with "What if Superman...". He's not even in this one, yet it's all because of him. This DCEU wouldn't exists if it wasn't for MoS.

You must not have heard, Snyder doesn't like Superman and needed him gone so Batman can be in the spotlight.
It's in all the papers.

not asking for unnecessary humor but yes every super hero film needs levity

even the nolan batman films have levity

My only fear is that this trailer is a bait and switch in reaction to BvS. I really hope the movie they showed in the new trailer is the movie we get, exciting, action packed, and most importantly fun. I do not want another grim, depressing, rain filled DC movie.

What about that last trailer?

Also,
rain is a no no too now? :funny:

No they don't. If levity doesn't fit in the story being told then it doesn't belong in the film. The story being told in BvS wasn't a light story and levity didn't belong in it.

Considering what all happened in the film and the emotional place that Bruce and Kal were in it would have seemed out of character and out of place if they were were wise cracking, quipping, or goofing off. There were some chuckle inducing lines from Alfred but aside from that the film didn't warrant levity.

Agree with you 100%! This trailer is both dark and fun! Really hope this is what we'll get!

Just me or willl the Joker steal some
LexCorp / Krypton technology plus Enchantress and then create those mutated soldiers?

:funny:
And *sigh*, I was foolish enough to actually believe all the humor was shown in the previous trailer.

Anyway, this could be quite the goofy movie, it could either end up being the DCCU Guardian's of the Galaxy, or it could be their Double Dragon.
It could also be something in between.

It wouldn't surprise me if the sorceress possessing Enchantress is related to Darkseid or Apokolips. Just something to keep our DCEU connested.

If you compare the shot of Bats on Joker's car in the two trailers you can see the cgi cape has been updated, as well as some posters on the wall. Good to see they fixed the cape, it looked a bit too rubbery in the first trailer.

Seems they used all "re-shoots" humor in this trailer :o

:oldrazz:

Can't wait for this movie. Even fricking grills are growing on me...

No... they don't! Each character or comic adapted has different requirements... If a movie of Plastic Man was made then you would expect humour –*but Batman... no!
Regardless, BvS did have moments of levity – to say it didn't means you believe the bull****! I love the first CA movie, but don't remember much levity in that movie... pretty deadpan from what I remember!
Suicide Squad is a movie that should be full of dark humour – the characters dictate that.

-"WHERE ARE YOU?"
-"Here"
-"AAAHH"

Is a good funny moment, always makes me laugh, in a good way. :D

This.

I also like that it shows us again how different people react differently to Superman.

And again, different directors, different styles, same universe.

With each character we wait to see how different it'll be.

I can't wait to see what will the other directors come up with! (although it's hard to take BvS from the top of my list :))

Then there's masochists like me for whom what passes as dark/edgy are the fun elements. :yay:

Is it right to call silver/gold replacement teeth "grilles"?

It looks like they're there because he lost teeth, and I always assumed grilles were the jeweled/removable teeth that were a hip hop fad in the early 2000's?

That's how I understood it anyhow... and if they are considered grilles, i'm about to give my grandpa hell over how he's been rocking grilles for my entire life.

I'm sure I'll like his performance but I'll always hate that tattoo. It keeps him from being 100% Joker in my eyes.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think BvS also has its moments of humor.
Not in your face type, but it was not entirely humorless. :D

BvS had problems---indeed. What's bugging me more is the editing.

#SuicideSquad “reshoots for humor” is silly. When a studio loves your movie and asks what else you want, go for it! #ThanksWB #moreaction

That's cool Ayer directly address about the 'reshoots for humor only' rumor with new trailer as his evidence.

So I tried to watch some people reaction videos for few public consensus.
While their opinion for the trailer were very positive, apparently the 'they already gave away all the humor in last trailer' rumor already quite ingrained in some people. :funny:
Some of them, without joking or any sarcasm, believe that this new trailer is the result of reshoots.
