Wasn't Ayer saying last year about how the first comic con footage didn't show how funny the movie was? It could just have been that the funnier parts weren't ready to be put in front of audiences.

Also does this put to bed the rumor of "reshoots were done because all the jokes were in the first trailer"?

Yes, this is what he said in July, right in the middle of principal photography:

The footage he showed was surprisingly dark in tone, but at the shoot Ayer told THR of the film, “The real shock is how hilarious it’s going to be.”

Yeah McWeeny was pretty right about how things went with BvS.

He was dead on. Sorry people but he was.

I'll say that of course humor doesn't make a film good but I do like levity in my action films about people wearing silly costumes. Certainly I hope that Suicide Squad isn't engaging in false advertising, has a decent story that makes some sort of sense and isn't horribly edited.

Man why does WB continue to use that meh picture for the suicide squad trailers? It doesn't help seperate them apart, plus I feel like Leto's face in the first trailer thumbnail drew a lot of people in. My friends and I were just chillin watching youtube on my projector and the thumbnail for the first teaser showed up and one of my friends was like WOAH what is that, click on it!

I don't know the validity to the reason behind the reshoots. Movies have done them, and they can and can't work. That being said, the bar scene could have easily been a reshoot since there were no FX there and it was just dialogue.

Not as many people are familiar with Deadshot.
Lex is a much more well known character.
A Lot of people went in expecting "their" Lex and were disappointed with what they got.
I can't imagine very many people going in expecting anything specific from Lawton

Why would WW help Batman take down criminals in Gotham? She has other things to do like find the Metahumans or whatever she's been doing after she left the island. She didn't even care about what was happening in Metropolis until Doomsday showed up.
