WOW, this trailer looks FANTASTIC!, It just looks like a really.... Dare I say the word... FUN Comicbook movie!

I think a big part of this is the CLEAR Marvel influence with the quips.
Will Smith playing himself as usual, but I don't mind because the rest of the film looks great.

DC need a win this time, it's been too easy for Marvel and I want some competition between the companies now.
Imo the the trailers for BvS looked like the trailers for a crap film, whereas the trailers for this keep getting better
so it's looking more promising.

I'm really, really hoping that these trailers aren't misleading ... Because I'm loving them.

The movie looks visually interesting, and the actors seem like they actually have personalities here (unlike BvS).

I frickin' adore how Capullo this looks - other than the 'damaged' tat obviously.

I wasn't too sure about The Joker's look, with the tats and everything, but this one image has done more to sell me than any of the others.

But it clearly IS Marvel influenced.
I agree it feels a bit different to the MCU, which is good, but...
This new trailer is quip after quip in rapid succession.

It has been written this way because of the success of the Marvel films and the fact that this is what
the GA likes. After the critical failure and below par box office of BvS, they could not afford to another
turkey like that.

Granted these films were being shot concurrently, but they likely did something completely different from BvS
here to ensure they would have at least one home run.

I'm a Marvel guy but I'm really rooting for SS, with the reports of the re shoots going on, and this trailer looking
great, it sounds like WB/DC may have finally learnt their lesson.

Fanboys from either DC or Marvel waste way too much time worrying about filmmakers will get these characters visually right, when that's not even half of the job. From a visual standpoint only, Leto's Joker looks a lot better than Ledger's, but very few actors could top Ledger's performance. I have faith in both Ayer and Leto that they will pull it off.

Character's appearance is tricky stuff. Even if filmmakers managed to make actors looks like their comic book counterparts, it won't guaranteed everything will be fine. I saw some people asking why Psylocke wear a swimsuit.

Ironically I saw some people in social media tried to 'fix' Leto Joker's look by adding dark shadows around his eyes so he'll look more like Ledger's and claimed it will be more faithful by doing so.

Now that is another problem. Ledger was truly magnificent Joker but many people already made decision that he is the one and only final Joker. Many prematurely decided that another after him must be **** and not worth their time.

Which is also happen to successor of other actors whom their character portrayal were well-received. This is not healthy attitude and put another heavy pressure to actors and filmmakers. Particularly if we want CBM goes on for a long time.

I doubt Ayer wrote this movie with Marvel in mind. I think he aspired to have just the right tone, and he did it.

Yup. If these start going in the direction of any of the Marvel Movies you can say goodbye to me.

Just because there are "quips" does not mean it had anything to do with Marvel's success. David Ayer seemingly had complete creative control over this movie, including sole writing credit if I'm not mistaken. He approached the studio with his pitch. WB didn't have much to do with this movie creatively.

Anytime I see Leto's Joker, I get like a 5 year old kid at Christmas.

I have always thought that there was NO way for anyone to top Ledger's Joker, but now, I'm not so sure... Leto is looking more and more promising. I just LOVE what I have seen so far and it looks like he is going to have a good amount of screen time. I definitely think we are going to have some serious Leto fans after this movie comes out.

agreed. Though I personally don't think Nicholson was good. I mean, He was fine, but hardly anything special. I remember being bored by his portrayal when I was a kid, and the Joker was always my favorite character.

Agreed - anyone who's seen Sabotage will know that Ayre can pull off the group dynamic really well.
