Bunch of prudes.

Yeah, it looks like the SS gets to Midway City after the destruction. Are we to believe that the choppers shooting down the squad chopper belong to the Joker?

I'm interested why can't they use army to solve the problem. Why SS exactly? What are they afraid of?

I figured they'd use the squad for missions where they don't want to dirty the army's reputation. You know, the missions where they'd have to plunge into the filth to keep the govt's reputation clean.

Even though the Squad is accompanied by the army on the mission it looks like they are going to be the only ones left by the end of it, minus a couple of members.

"They get caught - we throw them under the bus." By whom? Is that a sneaky mission?

I think Waller prefers to use a disparate team of morally ambiguous super villains over a regiment of soldiers as the former promises to provide a more entertaining drama.

I think she was talking about the concept of the Squad in general like in the comic con trailer. There have been times in the comics where the Squad has been passed off as just a group of villains and not a secret government op. Like when the Squad fought the Justice League in Firestorm Annual #5.

Yes, she's a known sociopath herself.

Besides, if the mission is the Joker, and she sends Harley... What kind of a plan is that? Looks more like it's for fun, rather than result...

Certainly this time they aren't fighting good guys... She's also saying those words in some sort of a control room, so it probably means the mission has started or about to start.

Waller is one of the New Gods?

If you're referring to this cover then what actually happened is that when the furies where sent to Belle Reve to retrieve Godfrey and they fought the Suicide Squad, Lashina was betrayed and left behind by Bernadeth. Lashina took the identity of Duchess and joined the Squad eventually she was able to get back to Apokolips and she took the Squad with her to fight the furies so she can get her revenge.

Maybe the Government has a much larger force to send in if the Squad either fails or doesn't complete the mission in time and when Government does send in the army or the marines then they will treat both the Squad and those creatures the same.

That story where the Skwad and League clashed was pretty good. I'd like to see something like that in the DCCU.

Was watching the first trailer again, 'Maybe Superman was some kind of beacon for them to creep back from the shadows'. She said was! PAST TENSE! The ending to BVS was there all along!

SS will do morally dubious stuff the military won't. The SS activities are off the books and they are expendable.

Guys like El Diablo have superpowers that are useful as well.

And now that we've seen BvS, that line's meaning totally changes, doesn't it ? Now it sounds like the bad meta-humans were afraid of Supes and were in hiding and now that he's "gone" they are creeping back from the shadows.

Yeah I think those things they're fighting with the "eyes" all over them is the army.

Nah, considering that Amanda Waller calls him a 'beacon for them', I don't think it implies they were afraid of him, I think it's more that once Supes came out in the open, more meta-humans started popping up or whatever. I don't know, that's just my opinion

Since Supes sacrificing himself finally makes the world accept him completely, it acts as a beacon for the meta-humans to reveal themselves, thinking there's a chance they'll be accepted by society too.

Arrow would be a beacon of hope, if being a beacon of hope meant being overshadowed by a boring oracle wannabe, but even though he wants to be a beacon of hope, he isn't a beacon of hope because of that. (I'm trying to repeat beacon of hope as much as they did in the episode of arrow titled beacon of hope).

:lmao: I know where you're coming from. Arrow has gotten really bad. I don't know why I'm still watching it - maybe I keep hoping it'll get better. Gosh...

Yeah, Arrow certainly isn't as good as it used to be. The last episode was pretty bad just there, for example. That said, it, along with The Flash, are the only good live-action adaptions that DC/WB have had going for them since Nolan stopped making Batman movies. Hopefully SS will be good and can break the trend, regarding movies. I have high hopes for it (my expectations for this are much, much higher than they were for BVS) as I think the movies concept is very exciting and I think the cast is great. Also, most importantly, the movie has a good director. Leto's Joker is what I am looking forward to the most, as I think he is going to be great.

What?? Don't you like Gotham? It's the best thing on TV atm imo.

Not a surprise, those guys are basically wearing red shirts. :o

Director David Ayer defended the wardrobe choice, based on modern versions of the character:

“I didn’t think denim overalls would be appropriate for that character, that’s part of the iconography.”
Oh come on now Ayer, resorting to strawmen? Really?
Nobody in the world wanted Harley to wear "denim overalls", ffs. Now a burka, that would've been a far more appropriate choice. :o

Seriously though, denim overalls. Teh hell. I just wanted the classic costume. Denim overalls.
