hmmm oscar talk is a bit early but the film does drop around the time when those oscar baity movies begin to release

Now Leto has already won so I doubt he'll get nominated for this but it would be nice

Robbie would have to essentially be the main character and pull a full range transformation tier performance as Harley to get nominated.

You might be right about Leto not being nominated, but since The Joker is an iconic character, and Leto is already an oscar winner, if the movie is a critical hit he might just get through.

As for Margot, she definitely has a shot if she's the highlight, as all the trailers have pointed out.
awardscircuit.com puts her down as a contender by saying 'Harley Quinn is a great villain and this may seem far-fetched but you just never know when something captures the minds of voters and audiences. Stay open to it.'

Might be true. A lot of people will hate his performance without even watching it, because they think he does not resemble Joker from the comics or because they think that Heath Ledger gave the definitive performance as The Joker, which simply cannot be surpassed by anyone.

Heath Ledger is the only actor I can think of that got a nomination for a superhero movie, but there have been other actors to get nominated for playing roles in comic book movies with no superheroes. Paul Newman was nominated for best supporting actor for Road to perdition and William Hurt was nominated for best supporting actor for A History of Violence.
