I would love it if WB said "**** it" and re-introduced Hardy as Bane.
Leave Small Bane in Nolan's universe. They have a chance to introduce more comic-accurate Bane in DCEU.

I love Nolan's Bane, but I'd rather have one that could go toe-to-toe with Affleck Batman. I wouldn't mind them giving Bane a similar origin.

Maybe a kid that grew up in a village under the protection of a cartel boss whose human trafficking operation in Gotham was broken by the Bat. As a result, he begins preying on Bane's village. Bane then begins training to overthrow the cartel boss, does so, and then turns his attention to the Bat that brought suffering down on his people.

If Hardy does come back as a more comic accurate Bane, he should use the same voice.:o

It's going to be tough to top how distinct and memorable Tom's performance was. While I'd love a more comic accurate portrayal, I fear it will have strong ties to 'generic muscle' tropes the character has often fell to.

I'd love to have Bane on SS2.

Outside of "Knightfall" Bane was not much of a character, he had one story in which he was presented as a formidable threat in both ways, physical and intellectual, and was pretty much reduced to a petty thug after that. With that being said, I'd like to see him as a one of the supporting characters. I'm just not sure whether they can give Bane a small role without GA responding to it negatively, due to his prominence in TDKR where the character is solely known from to majority of people.

I definitely want to see Deathstroke, though.

I tend to agree for the most part, and furthermore i think most characters devised primarily as a physical threat to the hero have only a superficial appeal. Bane's origin, however, seems to make him somewhat more malleable. He can be written comically, in the mold of many "supermen" who are proud and earnest to a fault. I thought one of the more interesting subversions of his cold-eyed, stoic masculinity came in Secret Six, when he became attached to a girlfriend of exemplary soppiness and air-headedness.

:funny: I don't think I ever read a "Secret Six" comic. Anyway, I agree that if they were to approach the character in such manner it would bring some fresh appeal beyond the usual and very one-note strong and silent type portrayal.

I read Secret Six when it originally launched post Infinite Crisis...loved it :) Lots of great new comics launched and some awesome characters like Detective Chimp and "Big Head" in the All New Atom :D

Hardy's Bane is my favorite Batman villain on film to date, but I don't think it'll be that hard to reinvent him for the audience. Simply pursue an origin that makes him into a bit of a vigilante, albeit one whose methods go over the line.

Nolan gave a great character there, but his fight scenes left a lot to be desired. I more remember Hardy's Bane for his scenes with Bruce in the Pit and his speech out in front of Blackgate Prison. Great character moments, but the best action scene by far was his rematch with Batman at City Hall.

Whoever choreographed Batman's attack on the traffickers in BvS could give us a damn good bunch of fight scenes. I'd love it. Since Batman killing was a big issue, I'd go ahead and tie Bane into the traffickers from BvS - so he's sort of a consequence of Batman killing someone.

Secret Six is awesome, would be really cool if they made Secret Six movie. Love the pre New 52 teamup:

Is that available in a collected volume?
Yeah, Gail Simone's Secret Six run has been collected in four trades.

It's a great run. I loved the father-daughter relationship between Bane and Vandal Savage's daughter.

Joker isn't a necessary character to have. It's not like Joker has to be in the sequel.

I've actually thought that Secret Six could easily be a sequel to Suicide Sqaud if DCEU has a major change occur in its status quo. Deadshot, Bane, Harley, Scandal, Catman, Boomerang grouped together as bad guys opposed to the Secret Society or some such.

I liked Hardy's Bane but I don't want mixing of separate film universes.
