You said it right there. This story is straight to the point. Did I expect it to be at least two hours long? Yes, but if this means Ayer was hoping to put out a fast-paced, tight movie then I'm game.

As stated before...GOTG is 20 minutes longer.

This has the same run time as.....Fantastic Four And we know what a rushed sloppy mess that was.

I obviously expect it to be much better. But man I would have never guessed the run time would have been this short a year ago.

If it is fast paced lets hope it has Deadpool like success.

Runtime wasn't the issue with either of those though.
Those particular movies probably seemed like they were dragging on too long actually.

That's true, Jonah Hex especially was just a poor movie. But I was hoping to come out of this movie satisfied everyone got their due, I am unsure that will happen if that run time is true.

Just because a terrible movie had the same runtime doesn't mean this will be of equal quality. Come on, this is a knee-jerk reaction if I've ever seen one.

So, 1 hour 40 minutes. It's not bad, Superman IV was 1 hr 33 min, and it still felt loong.

Edit : Just saw that Deadpool's runtime is 1h 48m, so Suicide Squad's runtime is comparable.

That's the thing. Quality is way more important than quantity.

Look at it this way, Ayer wrote a story he was satisfied with. He filmed it, cut it. Turns out the story takes up 100 minutes.

Just think of how unfairly Leto's Joker will be judged against Heath's Joker.

TDK was 2 hr 32 mins. This movie is 1hr 40 mins.

We already have some test screeners saying they didn't have enough of a chance to connect to the Joker (despite how good he was)

I had a person tell me his screen time ranged from [BLACKOUT]12 to 15 mins[/BLACKOUT] at the first screening.

But if this is a good popcorn flick I don't think many will complain. I was sort of hoping for more than that. However, DC just needs to deliver a movie that the GA will love. Hopefully this is it.

I think this will be fine. It will get straight to the point. Will Smith, Robie and Leto are going to get the majority of story focus and 90 mins is enough to do that. A fast paced action film is fine with me.

We'll spend some time at Belle Reve, the Squad is assembled, they go out on the mission, the mission transpires, the end. Put some Joker flashbacks in there and you've got yourself a movie.
