What about the actors, characters, everything that has been built so far? Is it going to get rebooted, just like that?

If these horrible reviews start/continue to affect the financial performance of the movies (BVS not cracking a billion), then things could change real fast.

If your films continue to perform poorly with critics, fans and the box office, then yes a smart decision would be to reboot. One advantage DC has is Flashpoint. Keep the actors, just start from scratch with everything else.

Wan pulling off Furious 7 is nothing short of a miracle, but now I wouldn't doubt Faraci's info about Wan not wanting another high stakes, overly scrutinized blockbuster to work with. Hopefully he can pull it off again.

Famuyiwa though, yeah. I'm worried for him too. Who knows if we'll ever get a SS sequel at this point if Ayer is done with these tentpoles and WB.
More so because Flash need big effects. I think Affleck asked Snyder to understand more about it.
At least WW, Flash and Aquaman are solo movies with more limited character, more focused.

But I hope this THR leak forced WB to understand and analyze this situation, wisely.
There's something wrong and they need to realize and know how to fix that.

I can already imagine the first intensive meeting about that THR article. :funny:
"WHO'S THE ONE THAT LEAKED IT?! HUH?! HUH?! HUH?!"

Marvel runs it like a TV series. I think we're at the stage where we can objectively say, no matter how you feel about their movies, the Marvel way in doing this concept is the correct way.

Or they're better at having one person to answer to and getting out of the way of their directors.
I don't see how anything under those perimeters can't be played with creatively.

Mock all you like chief, but there's more money, creativity and success in on-demand TV than there is in movie making these days, and the gap is only going to increase in coming years. DC being bought out by Amazon would be the best thing that ever happened to the company. They could - and would - quite happily throw 2 billion dollars at a DC universe of TV shows.

The biggest pain for me is that if WB is forced to respond actively to this story(idk how this stuff works), and the response is changing a lot of the elements I liked about the current universe. Which is quite a bit.

Let's just hope they keep they're mits off Wonder Woman
Yeah right.

The DCEU is finished soon enough. WB are spending too much on the films and the films aren't good. They should have kept the budgets reasonable at first and tried to make good films that showed their characters in the best light.

Let Marvel have the cinema screen, it's obvious they're better at it. DC can however rule the small screen, which is where a lot of the best creativity is going these days.

Wouldn't be easy. Marvel does have those Netflix series. Although they've proven they can do it as evident but Flash & Sugergirl (well after the first few episodes) (and Arrow before it turned into Felciity and Friends) But the fact that WB is allowing Superman on the CW tells me all I need to know about where they stand. This is the company that was big on character embargos, told Arrow to kill off Deadshot because of a movie coming out a year later and now they're letting Superman show up on the channel. IMO they are absolutely testing the waters for a Superman TV show and are using Supergirl.

You don't go from telling a show to kill off a B-list character that appeared once of twice a season to letting the same channel use your #2 character. That even if he was "killed off" is still obviously in your plans as he is in the promo picture for JL.

WB is currently finding new and innovative ways to butcher Wonder Woman now that it has completed filming.

Very exciting times, my friends!

Welp. He warned us.

Don't worry guys. Wonder Woman will get GREAT reviews. Much simpler, more streamlined plot from what I hear.

Not to mention Jenkins is a much better, much less divisive filmmaker than Snyder and Ayer.

And we finally have comic book writers actually writing the film. People who really get these characters.

I would also advide WB to actually release Wonder Woman *sooner*, if they can. Maybe in March. The DCEU needs a winner and it needs it FAST

I'd say tv has gotten better, but to say it completely trumps the movie industry is ridiculous. We're not there yet and I hope we never get to that point.

I don't buy that WB are butchering great films. I think they are butchering films that don't work and are making them worse.

And yet Faraci and Signore like the movie.

I liked #SuicideSquad - is it dumb? Yes. Is it even bad at times? Yes. But I still enjoyed myself. Smith & Robbie had fantastic chemistry.

Ok so what exactly leaked and how do we know WB are the bad guys? Just reading all of this now....

Here's a review you can trust. Jhans is just a normal guy that likes fun movies, and he seems very pleased with what he got

An article outlining behind the scenes chaos with SS and the DCEU Lots of studio panic and anxiety which led to a ton of interference.

I don't think its that they don't work its probably that they're not great and WB is trying to enhance it as much as possible. Yet they end up doing it horribly.

There's probably a solid movie in SS. Not great, but solid. While trying to make really good or as good as the marketing they butchered it.

we have no way of knowing that, and besides, I would rather have Ayer's true vision as opposed to some f**ked up corproate suit's version that was a direct reaction to the mistakes of BvS

Financially, it does. Absolutely. The return on investment for companies like Amazon and Netflix dwarfs anything the major movie companies are making at the box office these days. We just don't get to see them, because neither share their overall turnover with the public.

Apple could literally buy every movie studio in Hollywood and still have over $100B in cash reserves.
