I did not enjoy the film. Really bummed out.

Batman in this universe doesn't care about not killing or innocents, so therefore the Deadshot scene makes 'Snyder sense.

No, Batflek just doesnt mind killing to defend himself and the innocent from deadly armed criminals. And in BvS he specifically said the area where he lured Doomsday was abandoned so he does care about innocents being hurt. None of the people that he killed to defend himself and Martha were innocent.

Was I the only one who was completely taken off guard when [blackout]Diablo transformed into some weird giant fire demon?[/blackout]

Literally came out of nowhere.

Yes. I have no idea what the hell that was supposed to be. There was no setup for it, no explanation, nothing. It just...happened, and then it was over.

I'm seeing it tomorrow morning... I guess i'll finally find out if I will like it or not.

I almost walked out of the theater at that point.

I was in awe.

Yeah that was really, really stupid.

I'll get into a more specific review sometime tomorrow, but I'll just say this.

Way back before this movie started shooting, El Mayimbe posted a rumor that the antagonist for the film would be Antiphon and his ONSLAUGHT organization.

That sounds far preferable to what we actually got.

He was similar size and strength to the other, so it's safe to say the earth was once inhabited by such creatures that were worshipped and now only inhabit humans, living in secrecy.

That might be something interesting to explore in future movies, but in the movie it did nothing else than to serve as a cool fight scene.

And at that, it wasn't a cool fight scene. At all. It was dumb nonsense.

I didn't think it was horrible, just there and forgettable. [BLACKOUT]Two CGI characters you know and care nothing about duking it out, and preceded by a completely unearned 'fighting for my family' line.[/BLACKOUT]

I suppose it was meant to be a geek-out, even powerful moment but it didn't work.

This is nitpicky, but [BLACKOUT]was it just me that noticed Waller's files in the scene in the restaurant with the generals wasn't in the right order? Like she's reading Killer Croc, and it shows Croc's tab on top. Then she's reading El Diablo, whose tab is under Croc's, but Croc's tab is still on top. Also she had a tab for Katana, but she never actually said anything about Katana. Would have been nice to know anything about her, we don't even know how she knows Flagg and that's the only character dynamic she gets outside of Boomerang flirting with her for two lines.[/BLACKOUT]

Maybe we can all agree that there is an "ultimate cut" somewhere in that movie that is missing, with all these scenes that got cut.

Saw it again yesterday, I wish I liked it better this time.

I don't think an UC could fix it for me, but I want to see more, especially from the Joker.

I think it'll do fine in the B.O, and hopefully we will see a better product with SS2 or any related film.

Odd thing about this movie is people who hated BvS love this but those who loved BvS hate this. Of course there are those who hate both or love both, but it seems that there's more of the former.

Eh... I happen to have really enjoyed both. I will say that with SS there are issues due to some stuff getting obviously cut affecting the arcs of characters but ultimately it doesn't harm the entertainment inherent in the movie. In fact there are quite a few CBMs that are insanely overpraised that have similar problems. That said... This probably should have been a 2hour 15min. movie. 15 minutes is not that much extra time. It would have benefited the film critically.

Per Deadline
In regards to the critical and audience reception for Suicide Squad, it’s still up in the air how much mileage this DC feature property has. In relation to its $166M opening, BvS had a two multiple when it finaled domestic with $330.36M (just $2.8M short of overtaking Guardians of the Galaxy stateside). One non-Warner Bros. distribution suit waves off the negative reviews for Suicide Squad, predicting “In its first week, it’s going to make $230M to $250M!” This is further bolstered by the fact that CinemaScore crowds under 35 gave Suicide Squad an A-, while 76% females gave it an A-. The pic also earned an A with the under 18 demo (28%).

Not a fan of the movie, but for the sake of the franchise, I hope it makes money.

And almost the worst part of that was that [BLACKOUT]he still was far weaker than a bomb that had to go through the thick foundation of the building. Really non-sold that scene with that ending.[/BLACKOUT]

Nope. That was Green Lantern level stupid.

I'm not too worried about SS making money, but I am worried about what they do with the characters after this film. I mean in my mind ideally they should be talking about spin-offs for Magot as Harley or Will as Deadshot or them appearing in other DC movies, but after seeing the movie I'm worried that any potential plans may be scaled back.
