I'm gonna hate myself for using this comparison but I'm hoping this is a Ghostrider situation where the movie makes just enough to greenlight a sequel despite scathing reception and we get a sequel with the same cast but with a brand new director, writer vision etc.

We are getting that Batfleck solo first right? When is it coming, 2019?
I just wish that was first movie we are getting not JL

I like my films dark when it calls for it and SS, going by the trailers, it looked like it was going to be more darker considering the setting and characters involved in this film. Shame because if I remember, back in May when there was test screenings, wasn't there a lot of positive reactions to the earlier cut?

Yup, and someone who saw both cuts mentioned that the new cut messes with the pacing.

That makes so much of us fans frustrated when a studio like WB intervenes and they have a say in what needs to be toned down and be on the cutting floor...when really, the tone and those scenes could do the whole film wonders if the original version was left unmolested...(thanks to Greens for that 'word'. lols)

Ayer wrote and directed Fury and End of Watch, I don't think he is the problem.

Personally I would rather see a much smaller budget r-rated film by Ayer where they just let him do whatever he wants.

Not saying every film should be r-rated, but it greatly suits the Squad as characters and Ayer as a filmmaker.

Studio interference obviously happens in every blockbuster film ever made, we just only hear about it when it goes badly, however WB really needs to learn how to trust their filmmakers and their visions.

Remind me how that Ghost Rider sequel turned out?
Count me as the opposite. I'm hoping this movie's return massively disappoints WB and makes them rethink their approach once more.

Wow. OK, if cool stuff from the book were actually supposed to be in the movie, the more I'm baffled about WB decisions.

Also, didn't the rumor said that WB alter the movie because they were afraid of false marketing accusation? Now I read more and more about people noted things from trailers weren't in the movie.

Wb needs to learn a lesson....but ultimately we the fans lose if we never get to see this cast again in these roles. And I REEEALLLY want this cast to get another chance in a sequel. Especially Smith and Robbie.

If this situation continue, it'll harder to get good talents, directors or cast, for WB and DC movies. Many of those talents want to be a part of revered franchise, not just about money.

I hope the drop will warned WB that good marketing could only bring you so far without better products. So they're not confident nor feel justified of all those weird decisions they have done.
But I really want SS to get enough money but not exceed WB's estimations so they realized that DC brand is still strong and will be even more enormous with better future movies.

Robbie and Smith, I think they enjoy their roles and there's high chance for both Harley and Deadshot to appear in sequel or other future non-SS movies. People really praised them.

Some of them yeah. I know for sure that all of the Enchantress setup, Joker and Harley backstory stuff was shot.

I don't know about that Batman stuff, but I'd imagine since they spent millions of dollars and several days shooting that flashback, only to use 5 seconds of it. He had scenes with Croc that were cut, so yeah I'd imagine. I could probably find out.

I'm really hoping for a separate "Mad Love" Blu Ray edition, maybe through an online petition to get WB to release a new version, with all this included content.

Theres so much potential here with the stuff they did shoot, people would eat it up.

I don't want anybody to get fired, but maybe without him WB will have the change it needs.
It's known that his tenure doesn't run smooth nor highly profitable.
He will definitely get in trouble if he screwed both DC franchise (2 movies!) and FBaWtFT in the very same year after bad WB years. Even if FBaWtFT get critical acclaim/ huge earnings or both, he'll still on the hot seat.

I enjoyed this movie. Wasn't great, wasn't bad. I agree that it was edited like a long music video. Will was on point, he was a great Deadshot. Would love to see him in the solo Batman film. Margot was fantastic as Harley. I wanted more Joker. I liked Leto, but he wasn't in it enough to leave a lasting impression, though. I do want to see him return with more to do. El Diablo had a great arc. Croc was cool as hell. I wish Cara had more time as June. Oh and I want more of Katana.

I'd like a sequel. The music was good. It kind of reminded me of Guardians meets the original ghost busters.

Sorry for the random thoughts, I know the above is not a cohesive review.

Anyone heard of this song Serial Killer by Lana Del Rey ? Its sooo good but I recommend going on youtube cause there's a well cut fan made video where they changed the pitch of the song to fit so awesomely to the SS video...and all I can think of is, this song is so fitting for Harley Quinn and her Joker

while the play did ok - acting and production, i heard that the plot of it is basically fanfiction and not a good one at that. i red the summery online and it's a contrivance and characterization mess - not to mention that it negates how time turners work in book 3 . lots of people were really disappointed and can't believe that Rowling put her name on it even though she didn't write it.
