lol but I'm sure he's not the one who messed with Ayer's first act of the movie, or telling Zack to chop Sup/Lois/African subplot out of BvS, they can kick him out when WW gets 25% RT and 70% audience score.

Yup, I know he's not the one responsible for all that.

It's just that he sucks with character development and writing in general. :p

Yeah there is no Kevin Feige-type who oversees all of the DC films. There's several people, who all have input, and the chain of command is muddled.

Isn't this Geoff's job starting with WW?

Agree. Releasing extended editions all the time is a bad business practice. People will eventually stop going to the theaters and wait for the extended version. I for one do not like paying twice for something when the first purchase is defective.

I disagree. Look at LOTR- after FOTR everyone knew extended's were going to be a thing. However, I do understand what you are saying. I don't think it was WB intent to release an extended cut for this however I can guarantee the idea is being tossed around now after the horrible critical reception and already large drops. I think this movie DEMANDS an extended cut and moving forward stop butchering the films.

As for the issue of most of the team not being "meta-humans"- that is accurate. But don't forget Enchantress was initially supposed to be apart of task force X. And I don't think it was they were assembling task force x in order to stop future arrivals of "khryptonians" but any future alien invader in general. So while task force x without them all being meta-humans is a tad contrived, why not throw these crazies in for good measure since they seem to be quite good(and crazy enough) at what they do, superhuman abilities or not.

Well that's subjective especially movies are seen by GA mostly so no idea how that will pan out until WW is released, but at least he's not the one writing the "whole" script. As long as he can stab any suits getting close to Patty, James , Zack and Dope's editing room that's enough for me, like, a normal editing should stop half of the angry critics.

Jon Berg, Team Jon Johns.

:funny: it would be Famuyiwa.
Anyway, yeah, I agree about that. If he gets to help those directors' films be as they were meant to be and provides DC comics info to directors, I'd be happy with him being there.

I wouldn't let him be involved with the script for WW solo though, but that ship has sailed. One can only cross fingers and hope for the best at this point.

Ah so Joker says "I've got some grape soda on ice and a bear skin rug waiting.".. I couldn't hear any of it, I thought he said bare skin rubber lol guess I was wrong, is this referencing anything or just random???

Saw this today, good movie but nothing special. I thought Robbie was great as Harley, she's the highlight of the movie. I thought Leto was very good too, though I don't like most of the choices they made for the character. They limited him to a mob boss type, which just made him feel watered down and obviously still not feeling the tats/jewelry (definitely glad that the horrid shorts/leggings costume didn't make the cut or maybe I just missed it, god that's awful, the coat is OK)... While I don't think they went overboard with the romantic angle between Joker/Harley, they definitely washed away the abusive relationship angle almost completely and they didn't do much character building between them. Alot of wasted potential... but I think both Leto and Robbie can be amazing in these roles with a better script & character development. Hoping they play big roles in the Batman solo, hopefully with more traditional costumes & characterizations.

I thought Robbie, Davis and Kinnaman all nailed their roles. Solid performance from Will Smith for the most part but I just think he wasn't right for Deadshot... and some of his dialogue was cliche hip hop drivel added for Will, just not what I would have done with the character but he was good enough. Gotta give Hernandez credit, he was pretty solid, I've always thought he was a pretty weak actor but he was good in this role. Thought Courtney was good but wasn't given much to do, mostly a comedy relief role.

Villain story was bland and generic but I don't think it ruined the movie or anything, finale boss fight was rather weak, kind of silly & anti-climatic. Never really built up the villain or the final battle.

Overall a good movie but left alot of potential unrealized since the cast is pretty spot on for the most part. Not enough character development for most of the characters and they really could have come up with a much better story/villain. Just sad that this story was the best they could come up with, it's literally sad. And they definitely cut ALOT of stuff out of this movie, editing was choppy in the beginning, like really bad.

The Joker "Kiss the Ring" scene made me want to puke, so dumb

Was that established in the film?

The Enchantress was part of the files on Task Force X and it has never been established if kryptonians are invulnerable to magic but there really isn't a reason to think that they are.

Wouldn't announcing an extended cut this week cause a lot of would be goers to just wait for that version instead of watching the released version?

Might as well. It's a DC movie, so expect a 96% drop in box office revenue in the second week.

Releasing extended cuts to showcase the 'true' vision of every DC film is going to get real old real quick.

Who knows, with the back-to-back outcries specifically highlighting it, maybe they'll actually back off this time. If it means we get a more cohesive and stronger product with SS, I want it.

That's one of those things that are worn out before they ever get going. Start with a competently made film first, then we can talk bonus cuts. The UC did BvS no favors anyway, contrast that with the extended edition of a legitimately good film - FotR.

The way I see it, if your director is peddling another cut of the film as the true or "ultimate" version of the movie, then it's a tacit admission that what's being pushed in theaters is neutered beyond any reasonable hope. This time around, it looks like Ayer and the powers that be are trying the be tight-lipped about the issue, which is just another indicator that WB doesn't have a clue what they're doing right now.

That sends a bad message to WB though. By you wanting to give them money does nothing but give them incentive to pull this BS again. Surely you have a point where you say 'enough is enough'?

In this case I think they just have to bite the bullet and release the original cut, they just cut way too much out of this movie... I want to see it. I understand what everyone is saying, that it's a horrible trend and makes them look bad, but everyone wants to see that footage, make this the last time by making a proper movie fit for theatrical release from here on out.

All this does is give them incentive to continue doing what they are doing. You purchase the movie ticket, then the bluray, then fork over extra money for the directors cut hoping it makes it better. All you are doing is giving them more money.

I agree with you for the most part, I understand where you're coming from, it's just that so much got cut from this movie, I'd hate to never see it.

There's no incentive to do this again because they've already witnessed twice now it has affected word of mouth, box office, critical acclaim, and brand trust.

An 'ultimate cut' of SS is actually a redeeming factor as it communicates to the fans that they hear everyone loud and clear. This isn't like BvS where the extended edition was on the shelf months before release and set for home video. Initiating the new cut for SS is backpedaling on their own intervention, but for the better.
