I was all over the BvS forum when it came out. I warned, infracted, probated, and banned HUNDREDS of posters. They were against BvS and DC and they were fans of BVS and DC. People on both sides hated me because I was stopping them from being rude and mean to other side. I am called a Marvel hater, a DC hater, a Marvel lover, a DC lover....I am called biased against DC and biased against Marvel.

The way I see it.....to the DC fans, if I don't ban every Marvel fan I hate DC. To the Marvel fans, if I don't ban every DC fan I hate Marvel. I've hardly been on our site for weeks now because I am tired of both sides being such rude crude immature mean spirited kids.

So....go on saying I am biased against you.....whatever makes you feel good about yourself as you attack and insult and deride other people instead of trying to make friends.

Oh C. Lee, I wasn't talking about you. I'm just saying in general, there's a DC bias on this board. If there's one poster to fear on these boards it's you, because you enact that ban hammer without prejudice :funny: Every time you activate your powers, posters die from all walks of fandom. So no, I know you're for sure unbiased. So out of respect for you, I'm going to drop this subject and just wait for the the threads to unlock again.

That's why some on this board since MoS feel there's a DC bias in this forum, since every time fans gloat about their success, it's considered starting a fight, while all the trashing gets a pass.

It's considered starting a fight whenever gloating or trashing a film, turns into personal attacks. That's what I think is the policy here. I've been infracted a couple of times in the past myself for being too harsh against other posters.
The last posts in the box office thread before it was locked weren't harmless joking but outright attacks directed at specific posters, including me. Look, I've been a member of these boards for more than 10 years now, I've been actively participating in box office related discussion for at least the past 5 years and I've never had to face as much hostility as I did in the Man of Steel and Suicide Squad threads (I mostly steered clear of the BvS bo discussion because those threads looked like a mine field). And that is for basically putting numbers into perspective and not agreeing with the ever growing cheerleader mentality nonsense that bring those threads down every single time. I've been called a hater, a Marvelite (which is cool because I'm a Batman fan first and foremost), I've been insulted, intimadated and threatened through pms. That's freaking crazy and I'm really sorry to put it that way because I know that there are nice, level headed people out there, and that it is probably the large majority of DC fans on these boards but the DCEU mob mentality going on seems absolutely insane to me.

Karen Fukuhara talks exploring Katana’s backstory in a ‘Squad’ sequel:

http://heroichollywood.com/karen-backstory-squad-sequel/

While attending Rose City Comic Con, Fukuhara participated in a Q&A and was asked if she would be interested in reprising her role as Katana in future Suicide Squad films. Fukuhara was open about her experience and how she would like to explore more of her characters backstory in future films.

“I would love that. For the first movie I think we did a really good job of showing snippets of each character’s past and history, but it was just a glimpse. And for the sequel I’d like to show a lot more about her relationship with Soultaker, her sword, and her relationship with her husband and where she came from.”

I've always been a batman fan and while I love marvel and all, I've never let it conflict with the things I like about DC over the years. I wish DC had more love like I have given marvel in the past 8 years. I wish DC could be on the same level as Marvel when it comes to constructing the foundation of the DCEU. I want it to do really well...by establishing the setting, the characters and what not...there are some marvel films I am not fond of and if I have to pick a DC film that came remotely close it would be SS. I enjoyed it but not alot that I would have wanted. If anything...SS brought out my love for Harley Quinn :hrt: thanks to Margot Robbie. :atp: She's so fine and amazing. :hrt:

Thanks for the link.

What surprised me the most is that Scott thinks SS might gross 320 million in the domestic markets when it's theatrical run ends because that will be very impressive indeed. Much more than what I thought it would make, specially after the reviews blasted the movie.

So happy for the cast, they really worked hard and they deserve this success.

That doesn't really surprise me. I know a lot of people want to own it. I didn't get to see it in the theater, but I'll be buying it when it hits DVD.

I have only seen it once in the theater but I have thought about seeing it again. So far, I haven't but I am definitely getting the Blu Ray. Joker scenes are gold even though Batman underwhelmed but my expectations were to blame for that.

However I swing it I can't really imagine they won't release the Bluray with an "extended cut" or something. No matter what Ayer is saying at the moment. I think we'll get the original PG-13 theatrical and an R-rated alternate version. That'll be a very attractive package for some people. I know I'll get it, though I may not get it if we only get the theatrical cut.

To the contrary, I want to congratulate you on the fair and effective moderation you've been providing. I think what you've been doing, thankless though it might be, is part of what makes this place work as a community.

Well there are hints here and there of a possibly better film in the "trailer cut" that was released in theaters. I don't think it's necessary an R-rated version as the film was always designed to be PG-13 and I personally hate cash grab fake R-rated versions when it's just a couple of f-bombs and a few splashes of CGI blood ala Die Hard 4 (or maybe 5 I can't remember, ****** movies tend to become a blur in my mind).
I'm pretty sure WB will not release a movie that's too much of departure from what they have shown in theaters, for continuity purposes only, but I would be actually curious to see Ayer's original vision with the pre-reshoots third act, the abusive relationship between Harley and The Joker, more Joker and less incoherent music plastered all over the place to make it look cool and edgy.

That being so, I can't imagine that WB wouldn't want the "cash grab" of releasing a Bluray with some sort of "Ultimate Cut" - they made a ton of money off that from Batman v Superman.

I am obviously in full agreement with the simple philosophy of "show the best version in the cinema." However there's a huge erosion of artistic integrity when it comes to these kind of films, and I'm not even sure they wouldn't do worse if the studio didn't ¤¤¤¤ around with them...

This is a bit different from BvS where it sounds like alternate cuts of the film put a whole new meaning on the storyline. Reshoots probably were to patch up plot holes that happened when they decided to go this new route for the story. We might get some extended scenes but I imagine the majority of stuff might be reserved for a Deleted Scenes featurette because it might not make sense in the final film.

Well, I just think they're likely to release whatever they feel will make the most money.

That's actually what I'm thinking as well, I'll get the DVD on discount if it's theatrical version and I'll get the UC like BvS on the first day if they do release it.

They have to go with the tag "R-rated" because Ayer's been really good sport on cleaning up WB's ass by saying the theatrical cut is "his" version, R rating is the most PC way of releasing it at the moment, otherwise the negative-happy media would jump on it like a shark if the new version is called the "original cut" or "director's cut"

Unless they stab Ayer in the back and release a "studio's cut" that's actually Ayer's cut :woot:

That's so informative, I remember a mod at BOT said to watch the 3rd weekend for SS right from the start.

Hope WB reclaim those late July/early August spots, I miss watching Batman in July.

Baumer.

It makes sense since OW gets increasingly bigger so 65% 2nd weekend drop isn't shocking anymore. Not only SS but I think the box office of all super-hyped movies in the future is reflected in the 3rd weekend drop, not the 2nd one, especially those that aren't released in the summer.

The Dory lover =P he is great, very educational.

I think SS gave out free tickets OW as well. I guess it will become a reference for future movies with a strong fan base, teen demo and blockbuster status....AND any movie that gets a disasterous RT score will always maintain hope thanks to SS now =P

Yep, totally agree with your point. Someone mentioned this while back but I thought WW will still do good business during the peak Summertime but now I can't help but think that an August release might have been a better option.

Still for future endeavors, I want WB to get that August spot. GOTG and SS are conclusive proofs that these release dates are in fact very profitable.

Speaking of the August slot first weekend of August 2017 is taken by 200M-budget Alien: Covenant. But as August is proven more profitable it'll get more crowded too. August 2018 is taken by a Disney live-action movie (probably A Wrinkle in Time or Cruella) and a Universal Event movie a week later, so a movie can no longer have a whole August for itself.
