To be perfectly honest I have zero interest in Justice League, just as I had zero interest in the Avengers (and still think they are bad movies.) The entire concept of the "almighty superhero squad" pulled together out off an entire comics universe just feels clogged and plotty to me; a gratutious fanboy fantasy. Exceptions are X-men and Fantastic Four because those characters have common ground, common origin, common problems and common purpose. Even Suicide Squad is a much better concept. I'm watching a scene with "Batman teams up with Aquaman" and I just think "what contrived crap."

What the ****

So Booster Gold got the writer for Thor and X-Men First Class, JLD has a director and the Del Toro platform, MOS2 might be released in 2 years (apparently Henry will be a global force in 2 years lol), and there's Harley Quinn, SS2/Deadshot, Shazam, Batman, Cyborg, GLC, and WW2 and all the sequels. I have no idea how they are gonna fit everything in unless they go 3-4 films/year.

I suspect they might delay Cyborg/teen titans and GLC since we hear development for JLD, Harley, MOS and freaking Booster Gold and we heard nothing about Cyborg+GLC!

And JL2 delay is pure speculation, or what I'd have done if I were WB *Alfred voice - in your dreams

P.S would you guys call Harley's movie "Harley Quinn" or "Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn" for brand purposes?

I think so too, though obviously there're people enjoying those movies so good for them.

I think only the Batman movie, JL Dark, MoS 2 and the Harley Quinn spin-off (the movies that WB announced after they re-evaluated their plan) are sure thing atm (I don't count Booster Gold since it seems to be its own thing). JL2 and WW2 are on back-burner, and I won't be surprise if they cancel everything else in the future (even Shazam).

And don't they plan to release 3 movies per year starting 2018 already?

Suicide Squad 2, MoS 2 and Justice League 2 are definitely happening.

I think Shazam, Booster Gold (where it's said his movie is NOT connected to the DCEU) and Cyborg are going to be the two films that will be pushed back in favor of others when it's all said and done. As of right now, it seems like Man of Steel 2 and Suicide Squad 2 may be the ones to fast track the fastest in these next 2-3 years with slight adjustments from the others that should fall around them two.

Yes Superman is a bigger property than either of those two so it makes sense to play it safe in the short term. As for Suicide Squad it's been a huge hit for WBs so they are for sure going to want to build on that success and do more. Again SS as an property right now is better for the short term rather than taking a risk on a Shazam or Booster Gold (which in fairness I doubt will even happen).

WB's SUICIDE SQUAD is a fighter--down just -18% in its 7th weekend w/ $4.7M, $313M total.

Jesus, thats amazing. This movie is showing great legs.

Suicide Squad dipped only 18% in its seventh weekend to $4.7M. The drop is less than GOTG's seventh weekend, but that earned $8M (-22%) in comparison.

It's definitely going to cruise past $320M domestic at its current holds.

Wonderful news, what's it at WW now?

At the beginning of the year who would have thought SS would earn only 10M+ less than BvS? :hehe:

Wonderful news, what's it at WW now?

Btw Foreign total is now 405.1M, plus 313M DOM so that's 718M WW.

Suicide Squad 2, MoS 2 and Justice League 2 are definitely happening.

So SS 2 and the Harley Quinn spinoff are 2 movies?

With China, this film could've closed the gap with Guardians of the Galaxy considerably.

With China, SS would have obliterated many records and I'm positive that SS would have been the 9th highest grossing CBM of all time.

I'm so mad at the Chinese government right now. :cmad:

Crazy.
A film that wasn't slaughtered critically doing these numbers is quite the thing. B list property on top of that and no china. These are Pirates 1, Transformers 1, Ironman 1, comparable numbers, the studio should know that a sequel will be met with the appropriate response. All that remains to be seen is if they think they should move forward with the same creative team.

CA:CW grossed 399 million after it's 42nd day and in the next 3 days it grossed 2.3 million and it went on to collect 8 million more at the end of it's theatrical run.

SS grossed 309 million after it's 42nd day and in the next 3 days it has grossed 4.7 million.

Clearly SS is performing better than CA:CW and I'm making this comparison because both movies have a similar domestic multiplier.

So like CA:CW, if SS rakes in 8 million more from now onward, the final tally for SS in domestic markets will be at 321.7 million. As SS is doing much better business even in it's 7th weekend, I can see SS collecting 10 million more from now on to the end of it's theatrical run.

It seems that SS will achieve 323.5-324 million or even more in the domestic markets.
