Yup. Let's hope not. The Ultimate Cut of Batman V Superman had some restructuring in the first half of the movie. This would've needed more changes (considering that the theatrical cut was basically put together by a trailer company), which I hope is the case with the Extended Cut. But which I, unfortunately, doubt.

I don't think they've dropped the 'flashy dossier' in favor of Ayer's more traditional cut, which opens which June Moon in the cave.

I do believe the dossier stuff is in there (because how would they factor in the Flash cameo?) but I do hope we get a better version of the nightclub scene. We know stuff was cut there.

I don't think this will be like BvS. I don't think the extended cut will improve this movie that much.

I liked it, but the truth is it was a spliced movie from two different versions.

Unless they are releasing David Ayer's version I think it will probably just be more choppy scenes..

Unlike with BvS...I don't think the extended cut will improve this movie that much.

Even if they release David Ayer's full, unadulterated vision... we will still have Enchantress and her CG brother.

I wonder if it's 13 additional minutes in runtime with other restructuring or 13min of stuff scattered throughout. Probably the latter but it would be interesting.

Yup. Unfortunately, I doubt this is the David Ayer version. That's what I would've liked to see.

And from the looks of it, it seems like they've just reinserted Harley Quinn confronting the Joker (because of the chemical bath) and the complete bar scenes.

I think they would've teased more new scenes otherwise...

There were always going to be flashback scenes. But they would've been spread out throughout the movie, with the characters remembering their past, instead of that flashy (and dumb) sequence in which Amanda Waller throws the dossier on the table and starts blabbing about each on of the future 'Skwad' members.

WB needs to stop this. I don't want the same thing to happen to WW and JL after. :cmad:

Didn't the BvS UC get a full-on trailer with additional material? They could be doing that with this as well. This is just a teaser for the announcement.

13 minutes doesn't seem like much but the movie was already pretty long
I can only assume its to add more Joker into the film since his stuff got severely cut down

Yep. BvS UC definitely got a full-on trailer & I fully suspect that to be the case here as well. Extremely doubtful the only added scenes will be what was glimpsed in the teaser.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with them releasing an extended cut on home video. They even put them on the initial release, whereas others studios tend to double-dip.

The problem is that they've messed with the original cut.

I don't know. Just a gut feeling that they would've teased more. And if the new material really consists of only 13 minutes of NEW material, there's only so much they can change.

It actually wasn't that long. Just about a flat 2 hrs.

How much can you show in 27 seconds? I don't remember what extra scenes were shown in the BvS UE trailer but a small teaser can't possibly show a great deal now, right?

I still think there's an off chance that this will be Ayer's original version, I mean WB can't possibly care about more bad rep now that huge sales are almost guaranteed during the holiday season. No amount of vitriol will matter to them now and Ayer is in a very good place right now as he delivered DCEU's first big hit. If a sequel is greenlit then I bet Ayer is gonna direct that too.

well there goes any chance of me forking over 15 bucks to watch a DCEU movie in theaters when the true version of the film will be released on home video a few months later.

what a farce

Couldn't have said it any better. :oldrazz:

I didn't watch it in theaters due to so much being cut (namely Joker and his true relationship with Harley), so if it's restored in any way, this may be worth a purchase. Key word is may.

Fingers crossed we're getting this version right here :

And we don't even have to wait long for this. Digital HD is next month, Blu-ray in December.

That'd be ideal.

I hope it means more Joker, like will they show the scene where Common shoots himself, extended Griggs torture scene seems like a give , but how would the explain the grenade scene? Or him scolding Harley in the heli (even had a different hairstyle in the promo images so I don't think you could splice it in well with what's currently in the film).

Jared did a good job selling this here lol but watch them just add in two new scenes. >_>

Hopefully we get a trailer soon that'll give us a better idea

Kinda ridiculous they have to keep doing this

Of course there's an extended home release.

It's the only way WB knows how to make this mess sell units after that theatrical abomination.

I've got a feeling that we'll never get to see the grenade scene. I believe some of the third act was re-shot to work around the omission of that scene, so it's impossible to put it back in without reworking a whole chunk of the movie.

I bet of the extra 13 minutes the Joker makes up about 3 of them.
