I actually agree with Ivan and Matt on this one.

Honest to god the editing is one the movies least problems. It's got way bigger issues.

Man, I was so excited for Suicide Squad, the trailers looked great. But the first act of the movie is a freaking music video.

The third act of Suicide Squad was Fan4stic levels of bad (ironically, both films had a giant blue portal shooting out of the sky). I was stunned by how bad it was.

I've seen people try to blame WB and say it's all their fault, I say ********. While they can probably be held accountable for some editing and music choices, the actual dialogue, story, and directing all fall on Ayer, which were really bad.

And the action was so poorly directed. Dull, boring, uninspired, even hard to follow at times.

WB definitely went overboard with the music to the point it felt like they were making a music video at times. I want to like these films but the loud score blaring almost constantly over their movies is annoying.

The music would of had more impact if there was less of it. Less is more.

No, editing is absolutely the biggest problem. Because of the horrible editing you get a sloppy story telling. Instead of having the opening 5 to 10 minutes on June Moon discovering that cave and becoming the Enchantress, we get all of the characters backstories crammed in a 10-15 minutes music video. I'm not even gonna bother giving all the other examples, because it just pisses me off how poorly WB handled this movie.

I actively dread the Enchantress scenes when I watch this movie. During Waller's exposition scene I'm like okay... this is pretty enjoyable, some nice tunes... and then "the witch" comes up and I mentally check out.

Yep. Literally the only thing that was good was the hand thing.

A 6,000-year-old-witch: "You don't have the balls."

Great stuff.

I truly don't know what they were thinking with Enchantress and her stupid brother, probably the worst modern day comic book movie villains.

I mean man, I used to give Marvel flack for "weak villains," but Enchantress makes Malekith from Thor 2 look like Ledger's Joker.

Ayer says he didn't use King Shark in Suicide Squad because he wasn't comfortable with CGI characters, but he fricken does Incubes, who's CGI looks worse than stuff from the 90's.

What was the thought process behind this movie?

Ayer also said that he hated the cliche end of the world finale to comic book movies...

I'd like to think the ridiculous third act climax was a studio mandate during the extensive reshoots.

I don't mind those third act climax's, when they're done right. SS's was the worst one, well, it's tied with F4stic.

As much as I agree with most of the complaints, the climax isn't as bad as some of the other climaxes in my opinion.

^ That's an understatement. Like I said before, you don't send supervillains on an "end of the world" mission. It just reeks of bad storytelling.

Again, if the Squad is saving the world, what the **** are Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and everyone else doing?!

It really felt like Ayer and co were just making this up as they went along during production. With the exception of Iron man 1, I don't think this approach has ever worked out well for a movie.

lol yeah, I was thinking, If Waller knows who Barry is why didn't she just ask him to put the bomb under Incubus? He would've done it in a few seconds and bam, no more Incubus.

More concept art came out today:

Ayer's interpretation of Joker makes me so frustrated.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish Snyder could have brought him to life. Wilkinson would have made Joker look great at least.

I'd love to see Wilkinson's Joker design.

Squad's mission is to retrieve Waller.

And the same argument could be brought up for every solo CBM.
