I'm the annoying feminist on here but I like my villains to actually be evil/morally ambiguous . Save the role modeling for Wonder Woman.
Superheroes are morally ambiguous showboats walking and prattling in their hyper glorified underwear. :o

I want my villains to be very evil, so evil they don't wash their hands when they walk out of the restroom.

Even if they go separate ways, for example, by the end of the movie, it doesn't mean it will last forever. Sequel may be about Harley and Ivy. Then in the third movie Joker and Harley are together again... It's already established they're in relationship for a while. There's nothing terrible about them breaking up at some point..

I was really excited about the potential of Joker/Harley causing chaos for the first few appearances of their characters since this is the first time they are appearing together in the same movie and this is a brand new Universe. It only makes sense given their characters. But as I've said before, they are starting the Batman mythos with it being pretty far along in the process, so I guess in that context it makes sense. It's like starting off the MCU in phase 3 and moving on to 4-5-6-7 instead of seeing phase 1 and 2 onscreen (Just in terms of Batman characters, the rest of Justice League we know nothing about yet). I don't care for that approach. Feels like a missed opportunity, to me.

In this scenario it's like their whole relationship already happened and you're breaking them up before we even really get to see them together.

We'll see how it goes. I'm just judging by what appears to be happening in this movie, I don't have much to go on right now. Hopefully you're right and they come together again at some point, preferably for me before the end of this movie.

:funny:

Is all this pathetic internet complaining why we are stuck with unmemorable wussy ass villains who are barely allowed to kill people?

Now that's evil. No handshakes for that dasterly fiend.

^ I don't know if the GA is ready for that drastic of a take on evil though...too edgy...

I don't know how much writers and studios pay attention to that, but it certainly doesn't help.

Well put.

Money is why we aren't seeing villains like that. They want to sell as many tickets as possible and they know that children are a big draw in ticket sales. Parents will complain/won't take their kids to these movies if the villains are mass murdering people. I'm with you but I wouldn't hold my breath for any really graphically violent villains.

Heath Ledger's Joker looked like he didn't wash at all :cwink:

In that first photo, most of them look like they've been rolling in filth. In other words, they look exactly like they should. I want these dirty, morally ambiguous people to fight even dirtier and more evil people for 2 hours.

It will be okay if WB just forgets their no jokes-policy. Have the villains make a couple of hand washing jokes.

You should come to one of my parties then.

That's why they save the neck breaking for Superman ;):o

Just wait for the xxx parody.

I think some parents actually took their kids to see Watchmen without first looking up the rating.

I am not surprised, it happens all the time. I remember people bringing very small children to watch LOTR in cinema. Man, were they terrified at certain point.

Half the more adult stuff in Batman Returns went over my head when I was a kid. You watch Batman Returns as an adult and it is surprising what Burton managed to get away with.
