The more I picture this Joker within Ayer's visual aesthetic, with that Vasyanov cinematography, the more excited I am by his appearance. I'm hopeful that it's all going to come together nicely. But even if I don't like the design in the film, I'm still thinking that Leto's performance will keep me invested. That's how I felt about Bale's Batman post-Batman Begins.

If you're talking about the overall performance, fair enough. In terms of looks, Jack beats Leto IMO.

Also, Joker's smile might be big but it's not permanent - if you argument is based on looks then Romero beats Nicholson hands down.
I really don't like the forehead tattoo - but let's wait and sed how he turns out, watching movies being made, they look terrible, but when on the big screen they look amazing.
