Personally, I'm glad that Ayer is sticking to his guns and not giving a **** about what the whiny *****es of the internet have to say.
I mean if that guy says I'm an idiot then there's nothing else for it. :csad:

I suppose a Joker that fully recognizes that his brain is "damaged" and loves it enough to mark himself with a self-aware badge of pride has just as much merit as a Joker who thinks there's nothing wrong with himself.

I think it's interesting how many people read the tattoo as Joker labelling himself as a damaged soul or whatever, and not that his head is damaged, which was my first thought.

Maybe since so many have told the Joker that there's something wrong with his head, he wrote it on his head as a joke to mock their diagnosis. Who knows right now. It's just interesting how so many havent even considered that there could be different reasons for the tattoos.

Pretty much the bolded. Like The Guard said, he's probably just taking the piss, all while mocking this tattoo-happy, body-marking culture we live in nowadays.

There's something quite personal with this rant. Perhaps he's still pissed that WB rejected a scrip of his or something. Poor guy. :(

And again I am astounded at the things people can come up while not really knowing much of what they're on about. :funny:

Good lord
Whattapatheticturd

I'm sure if Aquaman had a face tattoo that said "Unda da sea", people wouldn't like it. And then you'd have others who loved it, and would try to come up with ways of how it would make "sense" within the movie.

Reason #12436 that I just can't stand fanboy culture anymore.

I think the Joker having all the tats and grill etc is meant to make you not take him seriously as a brilliant mastermind who can actually think several moves ahead and plot deviously. It's to his advantage if you underestimate him. If you think he's totally reactionary and superficial it plays into his plan.

What's wrong with that exactly?

Hating something purely based on aesthetic preference is one thing. But as far as speculating whether or not there's any sense behind it, well, nobody is right or wrong at this stage. Why fault people for at least trying to start a discussion?

Who said anyone was at fault for it? I'm just saying how it would play out, and the differences between Aquaman's reveal and The Joker.

lol.

i'm not a fan of the joker tats, but at least they're easily explained for a character like the joker.

Fair enough.

Sorry you hate it, Trav. :csad:

But Trav... Is that a problem for you that there are people that dig the ink on Joker or are are agnostic and are more interested in Leto in the part? See, that facebook comment is what I feel was the vibe around here when it was defcon 5 here weeks back. The people who like it feel it can work visually... And a good chunk of the con side of the equation seem a bit over the top. I don't get the same feel at all from people that are cool with the tattoos or agnostic and their comments as those opposed. I don't think less of people who are against it, I understand why they don't like it, but no one is saying you are dumb or whatever because of it. But why the tone of "people will say anything to justify this" in such an over the top manner when it comes to those against the choices they've made on the Joker visually? It's a combo of the over the top reactions and snark that makes me scratch my head.

You don't have to like it. Just don't be an ass to those who do. Or vice versa for that matter.

The crux of the matter. One that is ever lost in every single analogy about another character getting a stamp on their forehead(even captain america).

Now if someone asked this same question of say 'The Trickster' or 'Zasz' or 'Cupid'....But no, Aquaman, Bruce Wayne..

I'm very curious what people would say if Harley herself had a joker tat on her head(or lower back).

They had the car out while prepping to film tonight. They also had the lakeshore closed so I gather they are filming some kind of chase.

Have a pic but can't post it from my phone.
