Meh I like all those guys but if I had to meet someone I like I'd probably pick funnier people

and I didnt know Nolan liked Bay. Now watching Bad Boys II with Nolan is something I'd do

It seems like people have a hard time fathoming when people who are associated with "high brow" or Oscar-caliber films declare their love for "low brow" stuff like the rest of us. I love art-house films and and popcorn fare alike. My list of favorite movies from this year ranges from Tree of Life to Bridesmaids to Midnight in Paris to X-Men. I'm not exactly a Michael Bay fan, but I've enjoyed some of his movies here and there ever since I was a kid. I think there are plenty of movie fans like that, including the movie fans who make movies.

Indeed there is nothing wrong in liking a popcorn film as much as an art house piece if it is worthy. Like your list, I would put The Social Network and Black Swan on my best of 2010 list, but I'd also put in Kick-Ass and Toy Story 3 over The King's Speech or 127 Hours.

With that said, if a brain dead movie like Green Lantern or TF3 arrives, they are worthy of ridicule and it is fun to do so. It's not like they aren't going to make half a billion dollars (well in Baysplosions's case in any event).

Speaking of which I saw a funny review of TF3 at Rolling Stone. Peter Travers called it the cinematic equivalent of being mugged. I don't know if I agree with that, but it was pretty funny.

And I'll credit Michael Bay for this masterpiece:

The trailer can't show why it's brilliant, but in the best Bay movie he never directed, Trey and Matt recreated his every tick with brilliant irony and satire, in my opinion.

Oh what a suprise another crappy Transformers movie makes money. I can't wait till they release a decent looking movie, I'm bored. It even did a little better over the weekend than I thought. It also had a not terrible 3D sales breakdown. Congrats for bad taste! :awesome: If people don't demand more why should they get more?

Cars 2 had the worst drop for a Pixar movie. Interesting for a movie with an A Cinema score. I mean you'd expect a 50% drop because of the comp but 60%? Yeah, thats freakin awful. It should correct itself somewhat in the coming weeks because there aren't really any children movies being released.

Bad Teacher had a bad drop that won't matter because it wasn't a 100 million dollar picture. It's all money for Sony.

Larry Crowne looked pointless and nobody showed up. A-listers don't stay A-listers forever.

Super 8 contines it's fine run and continues to prove that people actually like it. It passed 100mil. It's not the 150 to 200mil picture people thought it would be but it's doing well regardless.

GL continues to bomb hard and continues to prove that people hate the film despite it having the same Cinema Score as Super 8. Yes, Cinema Score doesn't mean s**t people so stop bringing it up.

Don't care about commenting on the rest of the line up.

Peace out.

It seems the 3D didn't scare away audiences for TF3. I mean it's gotten a good reception and if I were to see a 3D film, it would be one where giant robots beat eachother up.

I hope all the people who hate Bay explode in anger. I'll say it once again. Because it feels right. Hell yes.

Hahaha, I gotta give it to him. People who hate on Bay seem to always be a little voices compared to his huge box office numbers.

I love this man.

Me too. *high fives even though you didnt like DOTM, cuz that dont mattah*

:D

People also like eating s**t that makes them fat and unhealthy in droves (raises hand)

People also like watching reality shows in droves

People also like drinking and driving in droves

People also like taking drugs (legal and illegal) in droves

People also like having unprotected sex in droves

People also are bigots in droves

People also voted for Bush twice (yeah, I had to get in a jab, my GOP friends can edit this out when responding to my post)

Alot of people doing something doesn't mean that it is good or anything to laugh at. The majority is almost always wrong and have bad taste. Which is why my lovely country of America in particular had slavery for so long and after slavery still wanted to hold black people down in other ways. Yep, the majority is always right. :awesome:

I'm not going to explode about a yet another bad movie making alot of money. I already know that most people are lemmings. Believe me, I know that I'm a lemming about alot of things, that still doesn't mean that I'm proud of that fact. Unlike some in here.

I don't ever have to watch Transformers 3, 1 or 2 so theres that. Anyway, I always predicted over 300mil for the film so the numbers aren't shocking in the least.

I'm engaging in a bit of hyperbole but you get the point... or not, you can't just shut off your brain when you read this post.:cwink:

Transformers 3 was pretty bad...still it was a hair less idiotic than Green Lantern.

I just got back from TF3, and I'd say it was far more idiotic than Green Lantern. But it certainly has GL beat in the action/spectacle department.

Neither were particularly worthwhile uses of my money, tbh, but I read the reviews, so I can only blame myself, lol. Transformers' box office isn't surprising OR all that disheartening to me. It's doing worse than the 2nd one, which only makes sense.

I am somewhat pleased that it's doing worse than the second one (and is below or just at the first movie in actual ticket sales) but thats a pretty hallow victory.

Anyway, I'm glad the the actual dumb fun movie of the summer Fast Five is going to hit 600mil worldwide anyday now.

Went to go see it again earlier before I hit the family bbq, and the theatre was packed, even on the holiday. Bay always gets what he wants. :o

Bay is going to buy another platinum jetpack....Im sure all the hate keeps him up at night

people can say what they want but bays movies bring the cash every time except for the island.

exactly....he is part of why Paramount has won almost every summer for the past 5-6 years

My God, using slavery as an analogy for the droves of audience members who saw Transformers is quite the hyperbole. :funny:

Though I gotta say, slavery was more about stupidity and the ignorance and as a child, being raised on what your superiors taught you, so the ability to think the true sense of it was somewhat impossible in those times depending on where you grew up in, like the south (unless you were in the minority who thought so, which was very small), and that it carried over for generations. I wouldn't say seeing Transformers 3 is ignorance or that the audience is stupid.

It will matter if we happen to be in the same bar and drunk and the movie happens to be on tv. We shall break out in fight but then decide to settle it like civilized men have been settling arguments and disagreements for thousands of years.

lightsaber dual.

Bill O'Reilly was in Transformers 3 so yes.

It's a genius tact to take money away from the poor so that the rich remain wealthy!!!

Which reminds me, Turturro, thank God actually had a good role in TF3. He wasn't over the top like he was in TF2. I mean since film one, he is a caricature of a government agent, but here he had a good role to play.
