This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]355657[/split]
TF3 made a lot of money, so a lot of people like it? A lot of people also like Justin Bieber, Twilight, the Tea Party and homophobia. What do all those things have in common? They'll be outdated and looked upon with shame or blurry memories in 10 to 20 years. That does not mean a whole lot.
Clumping those things together with homophobia is over the line, you don't like the TF movies, fair enough, but ease up.
Comingsoon.net is likely to be wrong on this prediction:

Yep, DOTM is a lock to win the weekend unless Paul Blart 2 or Horrible Bosses somehow come out and open with over 50mil...Yeah, thats not going to happen in a trillion years. It'll be a bigger drop-off, yes. But they're right that Dark of the Moon still wins the weekend.
I'm expecting it to have an X-Men-like opening. $55-60 million. I'd love if it did better, though.boxofficemojo has Captain America making a $47 million opening weekend. I'm gonna call bull**** on that now and say it makes much more than that. Even with Harry Potter. I say at least $60 million and may make as much as $80 million.

I think it will, but remember, it also has a smaller budget than First Class, so it wouldn't really be a failure at all if it made FC's exact numbers, either. But no, I totally expect it to do better numbers in the long run than X-Men:FC did.I'm thinking 60 Million is likely as well; I can only hope this has awesome legs.
