cars2 is eating it! not even pixar was safe from this down slope the domestic boxoffice is suffering. it'll be humbling for them.

TF2 couldnt have a worse story. thats the best part about it.

Well hot damn, I was dead wrong about Horrible Bosses vs. Zookeeper. I thought the R-rated HB didn't stand a chance at beating the family-friendly Paul Blart of 2011. Happy to be wrong in this case.

I can never tell if you people are joking or not.

Anyways, I can't wait to see how cap competes with the other comic book films, the release date may screw with it's numbers and if this year has taught us anything it's that reviews mean little.

Deadline.com says that Horrible Bosses has a budget of $25 million while the Zookeeper has a budget of $80 million.

but Cars is one of their top merchandising properties...the money gets made up on that end

I already knew nothing was topping TF this weekend. This was strictly counter programming.

TF 2 had about 42 mill in it's "second" week if I recall.

What's more interesting is that TF 3 just hit $645million WW in it's "2nd" week while TF2 made like $830 WW total. And that's not including key markets like Japan yet.

Very curious what Potter will do to these numbers.
Paramount would be stupid to sit on a sequel for too long.

Man if TF3 split it's revenue in two and gave Green lantern the smaller share, that would be enough to put GL in the green.:csad:

F*** GL....WB and DC ****ed that up royal....they deserve whatever happens

Anyone tipping records for Potter this weekend? Reviews have been alarmingly strong to date, add to that it's the series finale and I think a lot of casual viewers might venture out to see it.

If they're casual viewers then they will be awfully confused.

Probably not that confused. I think just about everyone knows the Potter basics to figure out what's going on.

But they won't be able to get the full effect of the journey. That emotional following won't be there and it will seem pretty pointless to them.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the casual viewer doesn't think quite like that :oldrazz:

As long as their entertained by the action and speculate, they'll probably be pretty happy. And I expect there's going to be quite a lot of that all things considered.

Horrible Bosses will make back its budget, while the Zookeeper will fail to do so.

I continue to be impressed by how well Midnight in Paris is holding. It's probably not getting to $50 million, but it's going to get a lot closer than anyone expected.

I don't see any records being broke domestically. Internationally, I wouldn't be suprised if it made over 800mil but domestically, I'm thinking 140mil opening and 350mil close. And over 1 billion total easily.

Well that sucks for them then. :o

All 6 of our big theater's midnight screenings of HP are sold out. It's gonna be big.

Should crack a billion easily especially with the 3D bump.

Totally get that, but looking at the low boxoffice (despite the fact that they'll make up that money elsewhere) and the bad reviews...they'll go back to the drawing board and try to avoid a repeat of this.
