150(ish) ow.
Could be 145 mill, or 155 mill.

I hope I am wrong, but I got a bad feeling about this film. I will say $95 million OW and an overall box office of around $600 million.

Tracking's still not looking amazing so I'm gonna drop my prediction down to $105m-$125m.

Yup. 140 to 150 (ish) mill ow.
And I won't be surprised if it's more than that..
I think we're looking at 750 mill plus B.O. when all is said and done.
In fact, 800 mill even appears doable.

This is a weird year for the b.o.
Several films have shattered expectations already. This could be another.

One thing I think people underestimate, among other things that we have already largely discussed, is Jurassic World's 2nd weekend - and the interest / perceived preference that general audiences have for it --- in addition to the fact that family audiences have already flocked to that movie last weekend

JW:R opening weekend was heavily subsidised by the 5 day extended holiday weekend.
The usual Fri-Sat took (only) $91m.
WoM hasn't been fantastic for it, where as Superman has had better than expected early reactions.
I can see an uptake in tickets this week.
I'm going $115m - $120m for opening and somewhere in the region of $250m - $300m global opening.

Seems about right. I'd tip the global opening to be on the lower side. $250m-ish at best. I don't see it going $300m WW.

If it makes less than Man of Steel on both Opening Week and Worldwide total, we'll never hear the end of it. :o
Of course, if it doesn’t a big part of the reason will be because Snyder poisoned the brand.

These great reviews are only going to help it.

Yup. Like I always say, it's the Batman Begins factor. The movie wasn't a home run at the box office, but was well received and successful enough to make way for a sequel. And THAT hit the big time.

As for the cults... just stop listening to them. Feeding the trolls is the worst thing you can do. The only way to get rid of them is to make sure they don't get any reactions out of anyone anymore.

Those 5 who predicted a billion are going to look like geniuses. :o

Superman is a crowd pleaser. So it will probably have a good walk up crowd.

I still think $120m is the ceiling, for the sheer reason that a part of the general target audience seems to be iffy on / not interested in Superman.

Teens will be especially hard to crack past a certain point. And despite the fact that James Gunn has made insanely popular CBMs, there seems to be much more cynicism around this project and his abilities to nail it for some reason. I don't get it, but to each their own.

That’s Twitter talking.

At first I didn’t like the idea of Jurassic Rebirth, Superman, and Fantastic Four all coming out within 3 weeks of each other. Now I get it for the movie business. The theater was packed with people on a Tuesday night and they were there to see more than Superman. By the time Fantastic Four comes out, the top 10 movies showing in theaters in no particular order will be Supes, Jurassic, F1, How to Train, Lilo, I know what you did last summer, Elo, Mission Impossible, and Smurfs. I probably left out some movies but we are talking about a true choice of movies that has never been seen since before the MCU/Disney dominated the movie landscape. I really miss those days. So sick of the only movies at the theater to see is Avengers, Deadpool, Lion King, and Avatar. Great movies but I would rather have choices.

Can you imagine if marvel and the DCU would collaborate in the future on a cross over film.
You could start small with like two characters, ie, Dr Fate and Dr Strange.
It will never happen, but still.
It would be A win for all.

I think the B and C list characters like Strange and Fate could work but I never was a fan of Batman meeting Spider-Man or the Hulk vs Superman. Deadpool and Deathstroke would also be fun though. So I can be talked into certain characters.

After seeing the movie, I feel confident that the movie will hit $800 million worldwide. If it goes higher I will not be surprised.
