Superman (2025) Teaser Trailer Reaction Thread

Great to finally see footage!!

Corenswet looks like a solid Supes & very happy to see Brosnahan-Lois in the Planet - may this be the future of Supes films for a long time.

Hoult looks really good as Lex to me, I think he will be giving everything to this and it could be his break into the big time.

I liked seeing a civilian save early on rather than Superman causing… widespread city destruction.

Also super-stoked to see Krypto & a quick Hawkgirl scene - good differentiators compared to prior Super films.

Cool trailer. The days of me going to see every mcu and dc movie in the theatre are long over. This is one I was tentatively planning to go see, and this trailer has done nothing to make me change that position.

Okay the farm shot looks terrible. The cattle being frozen in place like that makes it look fake.
No offence, but have you ever been to a farm or seen a cow? How do you think they act?

I liked that bootleg FF footage substantially more than this, NGL. This movie will almost certainly be stronger on a screenplay level but the stacked core cast FF has gives it a huge advantage.

Pity I can't be excited for a version of FF where they've, uhh, made that call with Doom.
When has anyone ever been interested in Fantastic Four? Sure it's got a great cast - but not a single one of them has ever really led a blockbuster film and I'm unsure where your confidence in them is coming from.

Boy I live in Texas. Cattle love to shake their heads and whip them tails to swat flies from their bums.

This won me over just with the "All Star Superman" vibes alone.

Seeing Krypto in all the live action, big budget glory is something else. Won't be surprised if he's a big scene stealer.

Just off visuals alone, it seems like we might be returning to Superman and Reporter Clark having distinct personas, which is great.

Seeing Guy, Terrific, Hawkgirl, and Rex was nice.

For the sake of the character, I hope this movie is great, or at worst good.

Kinda meh on it. It looks pretty, but the guitar riff of the theme didn't work for me (in fact it was very off putting), and it just didn't really strike any chords. Not sure that I'll flock to see it when it releases given my disappointment in so many recent DC films, but I'll give it a shot. Honestly, I felt more inspired from the MoS trailer than this.

Its okay. Nothing too exciting. Just okay.

I don't like the color grading. Its weird how DCEU had desaturated color grading for most of their movies, while this one went with the opposite, with the over saturated color grading. Idk why. It looks a bit distracting.

I mean that literal D-head Guy Gardner is pretty comic accurate (both visually and in personality).
Just needs Batman to come in and knock him on his ass.
But while a love the charming silver-age Krypto stuff, filing the Superman movie with a version of the joke Justice League, generic suited corporate product, late 80s early 90s cynical parody of themselves, is an odd way to launch a franchise?

Strange take from someone I assume isn't new to this whole superhero movie thing that's been going on for quite a while now. What actor in a mcu lead role had led a blockbuster film prior to their tenure in the mcu? And the FF had two financially successful movies in the past. They weren't good movies, but clearly people were interested enough (and that cast wasn't full of blockbuster leads, either).

Well it didn't strike any chords because the guitar riff was made up of individual notes. :o

I NEVER thought I'd see the day I've become selective of seeing CBM's in theaters, but we definitely hit that point a few years back, especially MCU movies for me personally.

I would argue that the charming silver age version of Superman vs. the cynical corporate version of the JL is exactly the note you would want to strike. The best Superman stories aren’t about Superman. They’re about how people react to him being a big blue Boy Scout, despite having the power to rule the world if he wanted to, and becoming better people in the process.

Needless to say, I really loved what I saw in the teaser. Nothing against the likes of SR and MOS, but THIS is how I always imagined a modern-day Superman film should look like (e.g., visuals, color grading).

I may not always agree with Gunn's creative decisions, but I can appreciate that he isn't afraid to embrace the comic book elements/mythology of the character.

I'm interested in seeing both Fantastic Four and Superman since I'm a Marvel ,and a DC fan.

I like both casts , and I want both films to be good, since, both properties have been hit or miss with the GA in the past 20 years.

So, I rooting for both to succeed .

At the end of the day, if they're both good films , the audience wins .
