Superman Returns Superman Returns:Final Thoughts

Eh I guess I just dont understand why they hang around boards for films they dont even like.

If I hated the film, I prolly wouldnt be on here

I hated it, but I'm still on here... just because you hated the movie doesn't mean you have to hate Superman.

Its not about hating a film, it is about loving a character and wanting what fans who love Spiderman or Batman or now the Fantastic Four have - a film to get excited about, a film to love and a film you can proudly share with those who are not Superman fans.

Many, many feel they did not get this in SR. They continue to post because they are concerned for the future of the Superman film franchise at a time most other superhero film franchises are really hitting their strides and exciting moviegoers.

It about concern that if Singer does a sequel and it does not deliver big-time - as in large, large BO increase - the franchise is dead for 20 or 30 more years.

People post in hopes that WB/Horn will get the message, that a Singer peep might read their thoughts - that the SR team is made to realize that it can't in any way be business as usual for a Singer sequel to SR. Cause it seems they may not be - getting the message. I am speaking to Singer's comments about more storytime for the kid in a sequel. Bad move IMO..

You didn't hate it at first, after the 11 times you saw it...then you hated it.

I shouldn't of watched it that many times to make up my mind...

This is probably true, but I think its because you liked elements of the movie as you said. I am just busting chops anyway Kak. I know how you feel about Superman.

We^have the right to post on a mesage board about films they don't like. I hated the movie, and I'm going to say I hate in on this board. And if you hated the movie and go to another board, there are going to be people on there who hate it.

The guy I responded to said this "I don't like the movie, never will, and I am not interested in any sequel to it." If theres no interest in the future of these films, I questioned why he even lurks this board everyday.

I hated the Fantastic 4 movie for example and thus I never felt a reason to post on the F4 board.

My interpretation is he does not like the Singer vision. I don't either and would prefer a new start to a sequel.

This is final thoughts on the movie be they positve, negative or in between

The question is... are you the true fan of Superman? eh? eh?

And IMO, Superman Returns is the best film ever next to Batman Begins.

Gotta love the plane rescue scene. :yay: Hope they do it again in the sequel and I'd like to see the train rescue. :D

My question is what do non fans of SR feel the plot holes are exactly? Outside of the continuity with the originals, just as film, what are the plot holes? I'm seriously just curious, I thought SR had many fewer plot holes than any Superman film before it. This isn't an attack on anyone.

I think SR is one of the worst adaptations of a comic book character ever. It was a visually beautiful film that completely missed the point of who Superman is.

I will not watch a another Superman film that is a sequel to this movie, only a film with a complete reboot on continuity.

can anyone ever post their opinions without getting into a arguement? jesus

He has a right to post here if he wants to. And as far as I'm concerned, I'm not interested in any sequels either. I mean, what is the sense in having this board if people can't post their views on movies like Singerman Returns.

Neither do I. Or how about a reboot.

Of course he's a fan of Superman, and so am I, but he and I are not fans of Singerman. And the plane rescue scene was stupid.

I disagree 100% on that. What made it stupid?

To me it was the most realistic and breathtaking rescue every seen on film from Superman and maybe any other superhero.

and just what is THAT supposed to mean?... In order to be a Superman fan, I have to like everything, including a crappy movie?

please, that is the most close minded thing I have ever read on this forum...

Nolan got it right... BB was absolutely great. The movie fit the character perfectly. SR didn't... sure the plane scene was cool, but IMO without proper lighting and color use, it loses my attention.

Begins wasn't great. It was the best take on Batman and it was a solid movie but it possessed just as many plotholes as Returns.

I watched BB the other night and i found it vastly superior to SR in all ways and no plot holes that i could see and much better characterization IMO

There were numerous plotholes in Begins that blew my hair back, from the small to the rather large. Whether it's superior movie wise, that is up to one's taste and up for debate. To me it's apples and oranges, I dont think you can compare Batman and Superman. I think that Spiderman and Superman is more of a logical comparision but Kak brought up the comparision.

The only reason I compared it to Batman instead of Spiderman is because I dont like Spiderman. I like Batman.
