Survivor: One World

I'd give it to Kim over Rich because she did it after 12 years of people watching the show. Rich had the benefit of inexperience on the part of all players. Some of Richs antics would probably get him voted off quickly now.

True.

I love Colton's mom. I want her to be on the show. She entirely held her son accountable but still reinforced her love for him. Beautiful woman! :woot:

Coltons mom is a doll. What a great woman.

The best period of the show for me was Seasons 13-16. Four great winners in a row in Yul Kwon, Earl Cole, Todd Herzog, and Parvati Shallow.

Probst usually goes so soft on people in the reunions, I was really glad to see him hold Colton accountable. But holy ****, Colton's mom is my hero. That woman is tremendous. It takes stones to not only call out your child on national television (if it were my child, I may not have even shown my face there, I'd be so embarrassed) but to also reinforce your love for them no matter what people think....I can't get over how great she was.

Honestly, this is the time when the old casting director Erika Shay was essentially casting friends and friends of friends....but I can't argue with it because her casts were above all else fun to watch. I'd say Pearl Islands through Heroes vs. Villains are the show's prime years and she was hand picking the cast. She was good at her job. The new casting director is not.

Alicia apologized at least.

I wish Probst called her on her delusions of grandeur though.

Damn Probst, you let Alicia off too easy.

At least I believed her apology, which is more than I can say for Colton. With Alicia it seemed to be more like she was just stressed out and she said something she didn't really mean.

I give Colton and Alicia credit for one thing...neither tried to blame the editing like a certain Jerri. They owned up. I did believe that Alicia's was more sincere than Colton's (notice how as soon as his mother and Probst gave him the oust of being discriminated against, he quickly changed his tune from "the heat of the game," to hiding behind the new excuse?). I think that Colton is a scum bag. I think that he is racist. I think that he is mean. I think that he has a massive superiority complex. I think he regrets being caught, not what he did.

As for Alicia, I have no doubt that she is a *****. But I don't think that she is as terrible as she was portrayed on the show and I think she genuinely regrets what she did and said.

Alicia is overly emotional and irrational, but we all know somebody like that. There is a big difference between someone like that and someone like Colton.

Very interesting that Christina just tipped her hand a bit. She seemed to just indicate that she had a secret alliance with Matt. That may be why his alliance never went for a fifth member. It seems like after her alliance with Matt shattered through his vote out, she kind of just fell into the shadows (which makes sense, it is hard to infiltrate new alliances on day 9).

Funny to think that this would've been an entirely different game if Matt, Mike, Bill and Leif included Troyzan on day one. He would've voted out Colton and Tarzan, then at the merge Christina (who probably would've been a bit more domineering) probably would've flipped to them.

I feel like this cast had a good amount of potential and it was kind of ruined by Matt's inability to count to the number five and failure to realize that four is not a majority.

I agree 100%. While I do believe she said some horrible things and probably can be a grade a ***** in the real world, I'll give her credit for doing what she does in the first place. It takes a strong person to center their lives around the education and development of mentally disabled kids. Definite kudos to her for that.

Oh jeez, three castaways who left for medical purposes are returning next season. This guarantees that Colton will be back.

As for the other two, my money is on Mike from Australia (best player to ever be removed for medical purposes, probably would've won the game...but do enough people remember him?) and Russell Swan from Samoa.

Agreed. Alicia is your typical Latina badass. She said as much many times in the game. She is fiery, temperamental and often speaks without thinking. Factor in that she had been on that island for 20 + days when she made the special needs comment (with no food to boot as she never went on a reward challenge)....I can she how she ****ed up.

Predictable ending but congrats to Kim!

I already read...

That Russell Swan and Mike Skupin are for sure coming back for next season.

I feel like the editors didn't show us a side of Sabrina, because your earlier prediction was right....there was no reason she shouldn't have won. Her personal relationships with the other players seemed far better than Kim's. So what didn't we see? I think the best glance into her personality that we received was when she was arguing with Troyzan at the auction and when she said that if she is voted out, she will hold it against the people who do it while on the jury. I am guessing that there was a lot of her personality that we did not see that may have alienated other players.

As for the new season....when it comes down to it, there are really only three exceptional players/personalities who left for medical reasons....Mike Skupin, Russell Swan and Colton. The rest were forgettable mid-tier players who either went out too early (before they could do anything exceptional) or whose exit really didn't affect the game at all because they were useless. Those three are the logical choices, IMO.

I have to agree with you Matt, they definitely left something on the cutting room floor they didn't want to show us because as you said, going by the edit of the entire season, there really was no reason why Sabrina shouldn't have won.

Ah well, on to the next season!

Congrats to Kim, on a well-earned win. Never in doubt since the merge, really.

God, Christina had the weakest exit ever. Not that I should've expected anything more from a player who did nothing all game.

I left the reunion show respecting Christina a bit more. I really think she would've been more impressive had Matt not been voted out so early. I think that really shook her and made her reconsider her strategy. It is hard to break into a new alliance 9 days into the game. I think she figured at that point, being the quiet floater was the better strategy.

Speaking of Christina, say what you want about her strategy....she was classy as hell. She was kind to both Colton and Alicia despite the way they treated her. She held Alicia's hand as Alicia gave her teary response and then hugged Alicia and accepted her apology. Christina is pure class. May not be much of a Survivor player, but she wins at being a human being.

Another observation: Colton never apologized directly to Bill, Leif, Tarzan or Christina. What a piece of ****.

Final observation: Tarzan may not be as dumb as he lets on. His strategy seemed to be to ride with Colton to the end and let Colton take the heat while Tarzan gets the votes. That actually makes a lot of sense. Once Colton left the game, Tarzan seemed to try to switch things up and become the new Colton and get people to take him to the end thinking he is an easy win (but he is articulate and with a jury full of bitter men he may have had a shot). His strategy was actually sound.

Interesting fact: Kourtney, the girl who left the game first due to an injury has cancer. There was a tumor, it was surgically removed, she is still being monitored. I'm surprised Probst didn't talk to her at all. She has cancer, is the first female to ever be medically removed from the game and the first player to ever be medically removed before the first tribal council. He could've at least asked how her wrist was.

Why talk to Kourtney when he can interview Blossom? :o

I was happy for Kim though. A dominating performance through and through.

What was tremendous about Blossom is that he went from her to just some totally random guy in the audience. That guy looked so uncomfortable. :funny:
