I'm betting she won't.

The reason I say that? ROS should be huge opening weekend, but the negative reviews and bad word of mouth could effect sales after that. At that point, given the last 2 SW movies (Solo, ROS) have underperformed, Iger and Disney will have lost their patience. Kennedy has made mistakes time and time again (hiring Trevorrow in the first place, firing Lord and Miller in the middle of Solo, firing Trevorrow and hiring Abrams again(a totally uninspired choice for film 9). Her head should be the first to roll.

I just wasn't into it. Hated the animation and it felt like a fan fic written by a teenager.

I would be encouraged if reviews said it took bold risks, but it seems like what it is being criticised for is exactly the opposite. Being safe fluff that caves in to fan service. That just doesn't encourage me

I don't know what any of the reviews are saying in detail, just the tomato percenatge. I only know of a few spoilers too, so I don't know everything. So I'm not going in completely blind, but I don't know that much.

Chances are, I'm not going to like it, cause I haven't been a fan of the mainline movies from Disney. I like Rouge One, wasn't feeling Solo, and TFA is okish. TLJ I absolutely hate. So we'll see? Maybe I'll end up loving this, but I doubt it.

Of the new SW movies, I like TFA (such a breath of fresh air after the prequels) and Solo; didn;t care for TLJ but didn't hate as much as others; and was bored senseless by Rogue One. Prediction for ROS? I think will like some scenes in it, but overall I'll be bored by it.

Or maybe just maybe people don't care about an updated remake of ROTJ. Then again maybe people hate how the sequels just did away with the Skywalker importance.

that's weird, because the same people praised jj for an updated remake of ANH

god, it feels so good to be vindicated after 5 years, that the entire ST is the biggest misfire opportunity in hollywood history

Deborah chow has me super excited for obi wan

I'm interested in future spinoff films but perhaps a break would be good and just go with Disney + shows

I was watching Schmoedown earlier today and hearing Kristian Harloff talk about how he would be perfectly fine with the next 5 years being all about the Disney Plus shows and honestly I think I would be too. If her Obi Wan show is going to be anywhere close to the quality of her Mandolarian episodes than I believe we a truly going to be getting some great stuff over the next couple of years if they are able to maintain this level of quality.

I'm just hoping The Rise of Skywalker will be good enough to salvage the trilogy. I don't see any real chance that I'll end up liking this trilogy as much as either of the other two.

When i left this morning for work there were like 100+ less reviews then there are now. The good news i guess is it has not fallen off much from this morning but the bad news it has not really went up either. Hoping it can get to 60 now being just over 200 reviews and being at 58 i think at best we are looking at 60 and at worst 50 i am going to guess it ends at 55. Watching last jedi right now then i will have watched the movies over again and will be ready for rise of skywalker. Man i am sure going to miss John williams going foward.

I really hope Bob Iger and Katherine Kennedy don't freak out and delay the 2022 mystery spin off and other planned trilogies.

Well part of me does but I also interested in the potential of the future being all extended universe spin offs

I did hear that disney booked a spot for a december release in 2023 and people think it might be star wars. Who knowns maybe they will push it back to that. I think the biggest issue still is that becuase they did the spin offs we have had to many star war movies in a short time. I think with out the spin offs things would look better. No matter if say 2022 is the begging of a 10-12 or something different give use the next one after that in like 2024-25 or something. Dont give us a movie ever year.

I am hoping this is a case of critics being mixed and fans liking but i dont known if that will happen because it seems like for already a few months after leaks started to come out people have been saying nothing but this movie is going to suck. When you combined how people fellt after TLJ and how people fellt about the leaks it seems like people already hated the movie before seeing it.

TLJ put the trilogy (and whoever was going to try and pick up the pieces after Johnson) in an impossible position. He really screwed the pooch. No matter how bad TROS turns out to be, I think I'll probably struggle to blame JJ all that much.

Mandolarion is good but i am not sure how good all the different star war shows will be. Like the show they are making about like one of the characters in RO or something i dont really have much interest in at least not right now. Fills like solo just seems pointless and also the characters in RO i didnt care for one of the big reason while i like RO i find it to be overrated.

I have heard no detials about 2022 other then it being star wars and also plains can change over time. Remember back when Toby was maybe going to get 6 movies has spiderman or when amazing spiderman had a release date set up for like 5 movies? Point is things can change.
