I saw it for the third time Thursday night and still love it and I hope I can go see it one more time. This is the first movie that I can remeber going to see more than twice since the early 90's.

Fourthed, or fithed or whatever up we're up to now. You da man.

Front page report says it's at $100 mill overseas and $84 mill domestic.

Nice! So it is doing pretty damn well for it's 80 mill budget.

I still wanna see that Jean Claude Van Damme vs Jet Li scene! Make it happen!!
Li would win. He would kick his ass while Van Damme's busy doing his , "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" punches and kicks.

According to Box Office Mojo The Expendables made $6,592,000 this weekend bringing the domestic total up to $92,159,000.

And for those that like high end collectables here is a couple more Expendables finds.

I just hope somebody does Jason Statham's throwing knives.

You know the scene where his legs are split between two chairs? I always wanted somone to run up and kick him in the balls. :hehe:

Probably the all-time unintentional funniest scene. Me and my friends used to watch Bloodsport constantly and mst3k it....especially the scene where Van Damme gets blinded and makes all of those goober sounds :funny:

Saw it tonight, not many movies do what they say on the tin quite as literally as this. There's not much point in critiquing the plot as it was a very basic a to b with no detours deal, and the acting was mostly terrible, although I did enjoy the Stallone/Statham banter.

This is all about the action and I thought it was mostly pretty good, Statham vs the Basketball *****es was a cheer out loud moment and the car chase when Gunner tried to kill Sly and Jet was great. The best sequence though is Sly and Statham escaping from Vilena when their recon mission goes South, the money shot with the plane was the best in the movie.

I wasn't keen on most of the hand to hand fighting as it was choppily edited, although Stallone vs Austin had some heft, Li vs Lundgren was shoddy which is a shame given how good Li is. The finale felt like it pushed the budget further than it could go and was a bit messy in parts with shots seemingly randomly thrown together, but there was enough carnage to fill 2 films!

I thought Rouke's character trying to inject some pathos into things jarred with the "kill everyone and crack a joke" style of the action, it felt like it was from another movie, even though I liked how Sly shot that scene.

The stand out scene though was Sly, Bruce and Arnie all together on screen, short but sweet! I was grinning like I was 10 again. :D

All in all I don't think it's a stand out classic action movie, but it was a fun throwback.

7/10

How about Brad Pitt in the sequel doing his Ingorious Bastards southern ascent and being like the character Aldo Raine.

Hunter, I think that's the thing with this movie. People need to realize what it is. Go in and be entertained. I was as entertained with this one as I have been with any other "classic" action movie. Well worth my $10.

people in my theater laughed out loud when one of the basketball *****es said "we got your back"

I don't think I'll ever be as unprepared for another moment in a movie like when he pulls off the "bonjerno"

His character was so great in the movie. Brad Pitt is a good action movie actor, which is why he needs to be in the sequel.

I actually turned to my brother and said, "Haven't those guys seen ANY of the Transporter films?"

I say they should try to line up pure action guys first. Brad Pitt is great but he is sort of a separate category. Also I'm seeing like a hundred different suggestions but if this movie is too crowded no one would get adequate screen time. Actually I just hope it's Stallone's guys vs Schwarzenegger's .
Maybe a team of Van Damme, Chan , Snipes , Trejo , and Banderas . Then get Chuck Norris to cameo as a retired expendable or of head of operations .

I think this scene fit perfectly considering that Sly goes back to save the girl. Also at the first of the movie you get to see that the life has taken it's toll on Gunner and Micky Rourke tells Sly what the life did to him.

I'm not sure that this is really a spoiler but I figured I would use the spoiler tag just in case.

I'd also include Jean Reno.

Well that works too...Schwarzenegger's guys can be Trejo, Van Damme, Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Snipes and Banderas.

I could see Jackie Chan as a bad guy...playing the quiet, broody assassin who drinks a lot.

The directing was terrible and so was the dialogue but dammit I loved The Expendables and can't wait for the sequel. I am glad that it's making money because the sequel can't come soon enough.

He might still have that rule of "I'm never the bad guy" going. That and with Karate Kid hitting huge numbers he might be to much to get. Course, him and Sly are friends so, hey, never know.
