Eh, I can compare what I want. And without comparing them Machete was s**t to me. I know I'm in the minority of the very few people who even saw the damn thing but that doesn't make my opinion any less valid.

Since this isn't a thread to talk about RR's lastest bad low budget movie that nobody sees, this is the last I speak of it in here.

Of course you can compare what you want.
It just doesn't make any damn sense.

Seagal turned this movie down because he doesn't like the producer , I suppose this means Seagal won't be coming on board in the sequel either.

That's fine by me. I haven't liked Seagal for a long time. He'd probably insist on kicking the crap out of all the expendables single handed without any of them laying so much as a finger on him. Just like all his other damn movies.

I can live without Seagal. I mean it would be awesome if he could do it, but I don't see it happening. Van Damm could change his mind, which I wouldn't be surprised.

If Bruce signs on for the sequel I can see it being Barney and The Expendables vs Church and his elite team, no doubt made up of action stars.

I think this scene fit perfectly considering that Sly goes back to save the girl. Also at the first of the movie you get to see that the life has taken it's toll on Gunner and Micky Rourke tells Sly what the life did to him.

I'm not sure that this is really a spoiler but I figured I would use the spoiler tag just in case.

Yeah I know what Sly was going for, I just don't think it fit the movie.

Hunter, I think that's the thing with this movie. People need to realize what it is. Go in and be entertained. I was as entertained with this one as I have been with any other "classic" action movie. Well worth my $10.

Oh yeah I had a good time watching it, no real complaints here, I was just saying that it's not up with the action classics that for instance Sly, Arnie and Bruce put out in their prime.

He's gotten hit a few times, I can't imagine what goes on in his dtv movies , haven't seen any of them , unless Under Siege 2 was dtv, can't remember.
Stallone said on AICN that some people he reached out to basically "lost it", he could of been referring to Seagal.

It's not like Seagal would be able to do much but it would be cool to see him . He used to be considered up there but fell off pretty quick.

The only way I'd want Segal in the movie would be if I could see him receive a vicious beatdown at the hand of each member of the Expendables. Then and only then he could join the rest of the boys. Oh, and if he still has a ponytail, it would have to go.

Did Eric Roberts have any real reason to keep the girl alive?

Naw man...there was no reason...he wasted so much time dragging the chick when he coulda just offed her and made it to the helicopter...

She was an insurance policy, that's why he took her with him.

For me this scene actually made me like Micky Rourke because the only other movie off the top of my head that I like him in is Once Upon A Time in Mexico.

Tommy Lee Jones gave him a tiny cut over the eye in Under Siege, then Seagal cuts him five times before stabbing him through the skull and throwing him head first into a computer monitor (Jones was playing an ex-CIA assassin, so I would have thought he'd have put up a better fight). In Glimmer Man, Seagal gets punched in the face once and given a bloody nose. In every other movie, he takes the toughest guy he's fighting and snaps his neck without even having a single hair out of place. I mean seiously, not even Bruce Lee came out of his movies unscathed. And he was BRUCE F**KIN' LEE!

Just saw this again. This movie is just awesome.

I hoping Church's crew consist of...Willis of course, Tom Lister Jr., Donnie Yen(or Phillip Rhee), Chuck Liddell, and Dwayne Johnson.

I went for the fourth time Saturday and still love the movie. I keep flip floppin' on who I like better Sylvester Stallone or Jason Statham.

Just to give a box office update the Expendables made $3,250,000 to bring the domestic total to $98,490,000.

Just watched it for first time. Wow its action packed.

My fav is Jet Li! Woohoo!

In the sequel I want more Crews, Dolph and Coutre.

I'd love to see the marketing on the second one go like this...

"2X More Manlier" "The Manilest Sequel Ever".

To me, all of them had enough screentime...

But I would like to see Mickey Rouke kick some butt tho.

The Expendables was a great movie for what it was. It wasn't a great overall movie but its a guilty pleasure and I saw it twice.

I really hope Segal and JCVD pull their heads/egos out of their arse and get offered a role they will accept in TE:2. For the throwback fill Stallone is going for with this franchise they really need to be included if possible.

There are still plenty of action icons from the 70-90s they can get into these films.

Just saw Carl Weathers in the new Coors Light ads during the NFL games, he looks like he is still in shape enough to get in on a sequel.

This movie should pass the $100m mark US domestic this week.

JCVD? Yes. Seagal? No.

Finally saw this myself the other day, absolutely loved it, was like the 80's all over again, loved the Arnie, Bruce and Sly scene, but the movie had plenty of other great ones as well, 8/10.
