The Dark Knight TDK Nearly Upon Us: A SHH Reflection Thread

Two things just came to my mind:

The Harvey Dent trailer that never came and there were members even claiming to have seen it and the rumored Joker poster holding a death bat...that was a creepy thought.

I was just about to mention the dead bat. I use to think that would be the coolest thing ever but now I dont think it could of worked as a poster for this movie.

Good ol' Ledger skepticism, every thought he couldn't do. Now look, he's like the second coming. I feel bad for the people who doubted him. When he was casted I didn't really know who he was that well so I was just whatever about it.

It's been an amazing anticipation for this movie. It is the most I've ever anticipated a film ever for that matter. Ledger's Joker just captivated me from the first trailer and pictures that we saw. He's going to be as amazing as everyone has said and the movie will be epic.

Ha, the dead bat. You know, we really did get that poster. The key words in the first whispers of the poster were Joker and bloody bat. People put two and two together and get The "JOKER holding a BLOODY BAT," when in reality it was a" BLOODY BAT-signal making up a JOKER face."

I thoroughly remember trying to get our first clear, full body shot of the Joker. And making due with far away spy pics from the Lower Wacker filming.

This is the only movie I've ever had dreams of watching, months before it ever hits the screens. It's safe to say I've never been hyped for a movie like I have been with TDK. It's been down right beautiful and amazing to look back on at all the small details I obsessed over and now it's a good 10 days away..

I remember when everyone was wondering what movie the first TDK teaser who be attached to and as the summer went by, most people thinking it would be with harry potter. What a disappointment that was.

Wow guys - I'm reading this thread and listening to the Harvey Two-Face track on the TDK soundtrack and I have to be honest, I'm tearing up a little...

So many memories...

I have to say the whole viral marketing thing was absolute genius. It's really pulled the fanbase together in a way nothing else could have. Made it a real community. Made us feel part of the film. It's been one of the weirdest rides in the history of cinematic anticipation... original, exciting, frustrating, unexpected, maddening, funny and even heartbreaking (Rest in Peace, Mr. Ledger).

We've spent countless hours in front of our computers following this thing, but we've also been out there in the real world, travelling to strange places and doing crazy things. Running around Leicester Square in clown make-up in the rain trying to read plaques in the dark in my case. Or collecting cakes with cellphones hidden in them or fighting over bowling balls.

I wish I could sum up my thoughts better but I'm actually feeling quite emotional. It's this damn music!

This has been, in every way, a unique experience. One that I will remember forever.

The build up to any comic movie is mostly about confusion, big guesses, lots of detective work, and very little data.

Ledger out of nowhere.

There were the endless debates over the real color of the joker after the first spy pics came out. How white was he really? Crank up the contrast! Is that green or brown?

I remember the guy who made the fake makeup test confessed and posted the original bloom picture, surprised that nobody figured it out.

the "Joker wears a mask" interviews that confused so many.

Panda eyes and messy lipstick.
